I saw it in theater, Now I will review
13 September 2010
I saw it 7 years ago in the theater and I remember being more pretentious about this kind of a film than I am now, and I enjoyed it back then even. Sure it may be a bit slow at times. But its very original, true story that is intriguing yet terrifying. The movie is obviously about a true story about a couple who were left behind on a scuba tour. The idea is scary enough but, but to see it acted out and the people way in the middle of the ocean is really terrifying. The movie after a while when they are stranded, picks up in good emoting and real emotion from the characters. It doesn't give you anything Hollywood (which is probably why people give it a 5.9 on IMDb), but thats the best part about it aside the fact that its very original and creative. The simplicity works because its a terrifying situation. THe end is true and not Hollywood, the last 20 minutes are the best part to me. All and all it was original especially in 2003, when stuf like Saw was coming out. Nothing unrealistic happens and it stays focused to what its trying to ultimately do, scare the audience but in a subtle or simplistic way. It's definitely worth the view if you wanna be a bit terrified.

Amazing!
6 September 2010
Unbelievable film! What a work of art! Arronofsky's best film. And one of my favorites among many many others for these reasons:

The acting is superb for starters. The story and characters are very heart felt because the story/s and plot revolves around a couple. With out giving away much I'll say these few things. It has a little more than just drama and romance in it. Very often when a movie tries to combine more than 1 or 2 genres in a movie its just a mess; this is a Superb Exception. The way it is directed with the sci/fi elements, I'd actually say fantasy elements, is so clear and wildly imaginative! The fantasy elements completely tie to the plot and story (metaphorical) actually much of the movie is a wonderfully thought metaphor.

The cinematography is so astonishing and fitting that not many movies have rivaled its cinematography in the last decade.

It's so so imaginative and heart felt that it evokes so much thought from the viewer from beginning to finish, and its only an hour and a half so the viewer especially keeps their interest and thought constantly active without veering away.

Superb story, wonderfully imagined, extremely creative, heart felt, amazing cinematography and directing make for this to be a GReat Film. makes me want to see D Arronofsky new film the Black Swan because it looks like he's going back to his strong form.

Not for a REAL Movie goer
6 September 2010
This movie was so bad! Rodriguez is such a terrible director. He can't make a movie with out stupid grainy effects that just annoy the hel* out of the viewer (it gets so old, especially when its in all of his terrible films). The action is always, always over the top in his films, which was alright in a movie like Sin City, but COME ON, grow up as a director! The over the top action isn't even cool or exciting anymore its so dumb. The dialogue makes me want to cringe! All of these terrible Rodriguez films have no linear or good dialogue! It's constant cliché', cheesy, over the top, trying to hard to sound Bad a** or tough ONE LINERs! that's all this movie consisted of two besides an awful story that is a mess because it tries to be political and serious with awful directing techniques and grossly laughable ONE Liners! Mindless plot to have MORE over the top BS from this BS director and even the actors can't get it write because it's so poorly written, or possibly because the only good actor in the whole movie is Deniro.

This is exactly why 90% of the top 250 on IMDb are just a joke. Because most people don't really appreciate film or the art of it and think "wow that, mess genre'd terribly written, movie with over the top action and nudity is so cool man- its the best!" (when its been done a thousand and two times and its just laughable now)

Don't waste your time on this film! Unless you are the type of person who is a mindless movie goer. Its also a matter of maturity, Look at the IMDb rating breakdown next to the rating of the movie... most adults thought this was just OK or hated it... But those teens sure love this mindless garbage.

Rodriguez! Tarintino! Roth! YOU GUYS SUUUCK, learn to do what allll great directors have done, GROW UP! develop more techniques and style! EVERY GREAT Hollywood DIRECTOR HAS except Kubrick, but HA don't go trying to compare yourself to the naturally born messiah of film making. Sick of mindless stupid movies like this coming out!

I tried, TRIED hard to like Lynch
1 September 2010
This is why David Lynch absolutely sucks (I'll never understand how he is popular): And anyone who has tried to tell me different is no bigger of a movie buff than I, so it's a game of pretentious outlook and it's been handed down from generation to generation of Dbag Lynch lovers. Every Lynch film feels sooo B movie because of it's lack of intriguing characters and close to terrible dialogue. The acting is always bad as well even if it is Naomi Watts because they aren't given anything to work with besides abstract junk garbage. The stories are always so uninteresting and unthoughtful and ridiculously abstract that they are almost not worth thinking about or even watching all the way through (they lead to nothing, not even good structured thought), trust me I've tried and tried.

At the end of each of his movies, there is no longing to figure anything out because it's so frustratingly bland and mindlessly abstract. While I don't necessarily like directors like Tarentino or Woody Allen, I can at least see the appeal and understand how they have become popular.

People don't understand it (because there is nothing to understand and don't let Lynch lovers tell you there is), but Love the hype of Lynch..... I call it the Inception Affect or simply the Lynch Affect.

BOOM great
27 August 2010
what a refreshing movie... with all the hype and 92% BS that is produced by Hollywood now-a- days. Not to mention many of the independent movies now-a-days with such bland plots and Hollywood appeal in them. What A Refreshing Flick. The plot is simple yet wonderfully original and thoughtful. The plot alone evoked emotion from me. Don't expect too from the plot much besides genius simplicity and creation for heart felt tension and characters. One of the best scenes in current cinema (I believe) occurs early in the film, you'll know when you see it, its like an early climax. The actors are just fine and the characters are heart felt after you get over their white trash appeal. The plot was just so genius that it made for such an intrigue for what could and will happen with the two families. The dialogue like the plot, its simple but o-so dam good. The ending left me with tons of thought about a unique drama, in sh*t area America.

fun to watch, confusing for anyone
11 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
It was a fun movie to watch for the most part, aside from some bad editing, limited good dialogue and confusing point/moral. If its just a movie just to be a movie then good it was fine and I would give it a 6. The story was creative but so back and forth with a moral and slightly abstract, but all led to no good thinking; just pure entertainment is what I got out of it. If your going to write a slightly abstract historical fiction movie there has got to be something more than a seemingly wishy washy theme of Christianity. The story was neat and creative but.... there was negative Christianity tones and then very positive, or should I say killer tones of Christianity. Many pluses to the story, but all and all it doesn't cut it. It was really fun to watch but then I felt dead with lack of thought and little confusion afterward, (which is never fun). And I can't imagine myself wanting to watch it again to figure out any message or moral, sort of like Inception. It was entertaining because about the first half of the movie seems very real and plausible, and there are some good scenes, but it all leads to confusion or lack of provoking thought.

It seems not one person undestands this movie
1 August 2010
Warning: Spoilers
The priest is actually a sort of corrupt revolution leader. He has followers and the people loved him. That explains for why they don't give him up while they are being hung, and it also explains for all the organized action scenes on the military or police led by him. It's actually a great lead character role and story, plus the details of the story and movie are actually pretty impressive. But its down fall is: 1, it is made pretty poorly; bad editing, poor audio in some parts, and out dated even for its time. 2, It is a bit confusing because they don't explain any of the stories details but you can understand by paying attention (and its actually a really cool and original story.) 3, Its misleading with the previews and marketing, posters etc.

It realllly is the kind of movie I think would be a great remake. Change the time period a little earlier and make it more comprehensive with better writing and directing. Add some good lead and supporting actors. My friends we would have a golden contemporary western film. I give it the 8 because of the story and the characters, and the details of the movie, like art direction and dialogue. But everything else besides the acting sucked.

IMDb soo disappointing
19 July 2010
9.4? ? ? ? ? Wow I went and saw it tonight because of all the Hype. I decided to stay level headed because the previews did not look that great. I went into it with medium expectations, and it was still a huge let down. Honestly I would give it a 3/10 for its cinematography and effects. It lacks everything everything that makes a great or even a good movie. The characters weren't developed besides Leonardo's and they were all bland and uninteresting. There are about 4 different subplot-like events going on and it creates for the viewer to be very disconnected, you never sympathize or empathize for anyone or anything in the movie, let alone give a damn about its very uninteresting story. The story was all over the place dragged out and bland, I felt disconnected from the whole plot. Good premiss, cool idea, good graphics.... Story was border line awful, acting was just average for such good actors, the characters were bland and sucked, the dialogue got wacky and pretty out there and didn't even make sense at times. the cinematography was all over the place. These past 2 years the IMDb rating has been corrupted or screwed. This is not, not, not a great or even a good movie. One of my least favorite Decaprio and Nolans films. The Dark Knight must have got to his head. Could we see another lost director like Tarentino? Apparently not to general audience who are apparently mindlessly entertained and think everything that is confusing is wonderful.

Great
19 July 2010
this is what a modern film should be like....... Good dialogue, good characters, good acting, and good cinematography Danny Huston as Arthur is possibly one of the most hugely underrated bad guys in modern movies. His character makes you want to see more let alone his sinister style is so bold every time he is on screen. Superb just by Danny Huston. Guy Pearce does a pretty damn good job as well by stepping out of his typical acting role. The caring brother who the viewer sees as ambiguously good. And of course Ray Winstone is incredible in any movie he is in. He adds the good side to the story, well alittle, just as Pearce's character does. The cinematography was just absolutely beautiful. The music score and sound editing is acceptional as well. The story was intriguing and interesting and ended on an exciting yet dark note. Great movie but not one of the all time greats WOuld have gave it a 8 or 9 but it deserves a 10 on this site bc of the terrible reviewers.

7.2?! Ridley hit's the spot again
19 May 2010
I would have gave this movie a 9/10 but I don't like the fact that its only 7.2 at only 10,000 votes. Everyone on IMDb acts like they are some great filmmakers themselves and act SOOOOO PRETENTIOUS towards any good movie Hollywood happens to put out. GET OVER YOURSELVES. I'm in filmschool buddies and I know cinematography, acting, lighting, directing, writing..... This movie was 100% WONDERFUL besides a couple cliché' moments.

So IMDb fans, how does Avatar and Taken get like 8/9 ??? and this wonderful work of cinema gets like a 6 or 7. Go to filmschool before you talk out of your butts people. Don't READ THE DUMB PRETENTIOUS REVIEWS BY 19 YO think they Know-it-alls.

Ridley's directing is just as good as it ever was if not better, the man can't be stopped. It's nearly a flawless movie besides a few cliché' lines; but hay, that might happen in an epic historical film. All performances were great, but I really think Oscar Isaac as Prince/King John and Danny Huston Killlls it as King RIchard. Crowe and Blanchett are wonderful together. I wish I could have saw more of King Richard, I really loved Huston's performance. Then King John is nothing less than spectacular. The story is very interesting. The movie starts off pretty fast paced and keeps it going for a good half hour, then it slows down a bit and involves Great character development. Then the intensity picks back up with the Nottingham scene and the final battle. And the ending is so proper and well thought-out that it really just tops it off with your favorite slice of fruit and makes it a great film.

Of course in a Ridley Schott film the cinematography is going to be great. But seriously this film had the best cinematography in modern films! It was almost mind blowing cinematography... It was like Lord of the Rings mixed with Saving Private Ryan cinematography. It will surely win many awards for cinematography. The dialogue is well written and entertaining which is very necessary in a movie that takes place in the 12 century. It was so good and the characters were so fun I would love to see a sequel with the story we already know. O did I mention the action sequences were awesome!

7.9???????????!
10 May 2010
what?! As much as I love Liam Neeson he does some really bad movies sometimes and this is one. 7.9 out of a 100,000 votes?! what is wrong with the general population. This movie was quite terrible and I'll name just a few reasons why. Well the revenge and relentlessly pursue of something or someone is very old and unoriginal. So it had to be refreshing in some ways, but no not at all. So many awful stereotypes and plot qliches its hard to watch. The American girls are just so.. blah! His daughter and her friend are so stupid and spoiled (And Follow A U2 Tour in Europe! so thats what the kids do these days!) You don't give a darn about them. Liam Neeson doesn't really even have to act, he has two emotion tones in the whole movie. The suspense is awful and predictable. The acting is terrible besides Neeson's mediocre role as a mad dad. The dialogue is lame and qliche'. There is NOOO intriguing cinematography.

Bottom line... 7.9??! This movie was very weak in almost every single cinematic aspect.

Australian Sopranos? No, far better
8 March 2010
This show is incredible! It is amazingly entertaining.. The best modern crime show ever. Its all true. compare Underbelly to Sopranos? lol come on. Underbelly makes the Sopranos look like p*ssy non-amusing bs. One of my favorite shows because its just flat out entertaining. DirectTV has a little hidden gem. Wonderful writing, crazy characters and wild True stories. It is not for everyone. It's the most gritty show I've ever seen. Where did this show come from? I need it on DVD. It's as well made as an HBO or Showtime show. Mark "Chopper" Read makes an appearance. The Kane brothers are deep in the plot. Australia has some great crime stories. This show is far better than The Sopranos. I only compare the two because someone else did. The acting is swell, the directing is fine, the art direction and cinematography are exceptional. If one has the chance to watch this show. Give it a whirl if your not faint hearted. Wildly entertaining. I really can't say enough or too much about Underbelly, you got to check it out. If you like crime shows, this is for you.

7.9? Makes me loose faith in IMDb
21 February 2010
7.9 ?????!! Are you kidding me? I turned this off half way through... Corny and Campy. Unoriginal and cliché. Not one interesting character. Maybe if your below the age of 10 you might enjoy this one. What a bore fest and a joke of a movie... NOT for adults or any person above the age of 10. Furthermore, how the hell is this rated 7.9??? It blows my mind! Even as a kids movie it sucks, the story is long boring and not intriguing. Every person I was watching it with agreed to turn it off, and there were 3 girls. I would hate this as an 8 year old and I hated it now as a 23 year old who is enrolled at film school at UofI. 7.9?? Come on IMDb voters.

The Road (I) (2009)
10/10
Simply one of the best of the decade!
26 December 2009
The Road is one of the most unique films of the decade. Having an innovative and original approach to a long used post-apocalyptic (maybe the one to end all post-apocalyptic stories). Another Cormac McCarthy adaptation to Hollywood, will it hold a flame to the literature? YES.

Far more than your average Hollywood flick. The story focuses the observers attention on relationships and society. DON'T GO SEE IT IF YOU WANT A 2012 DISASTER or SYFI FILM. It's poetic drama (maybe more in the book) in a very dark fashion. Mortenson without any doubt deserves many lead role awards this year. I have seen all the big films of the year and no one came close to male lead role performance like Viggo's. He plays the father spot on, Viggo is just astounding! Duvall and Theron are a treat as well! A real treat. Possibly the darkest movie I've ever seen. Its tone, dialogue, cinematography, art direction and superb acting are amazingly captivating in a grim way. The book prepared me for what to expect on screen (book is even darker and grimmer).

There has never been a film like this one. It felt fresh and very real, Something the post- apocalyptic genre hasn't ever accomplished. Throughly entertaining from start to finish, and it felt too short! Did I mention it was very powerful and moving, in an unconventional way. Powerful like a deep war story and moving like a dramatic romance but transcends both. The Road makes you feel for the father so deeply and you can empathize with the boy with youthful innocence and ignorance that most people have experienced. They accomplished something with this adaptation I thought they couldn't.

Great film, it deserves 9 or 10/10

QT is starting to become old
2 December 2009
This movie sucked. It had no depth. I get it, it was part of grind-house, woopti doo, this movie bored the hell out of me. And of course there was no redeeming value or scene or anything at the end like all of his movies (save Resivoir dogs). Just another one of his lame fetishes with women. We get it, QT is...WAS edgy and innovative but he's really not doing it anymore. His dialogue is becoming cheesy, his style of directing is really growing lame. There's no good artistic value either such as the cinematography or art direction, or direction for that matter. Qt is growing pretty old and worn because he's not developing anything. You might like this movie if you happen to be a feminist person who appreciates boring action films.

8.3? Really?
27 November 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I would have gave this movie a 4 or so but I can not believe it's 8.3 on here.

The story was so scattered, and extremely unrealistic (scientifically). Sci-fi movies are unrealistic but, you need to be accurate with the astronomy and physics now-a-days.

The story was a mess. It was boring and cheesy (like the old star trek) which I hear is one of the only similarities with the old Trek. The story is really lame it's no star wars. The acting was mediocre at the best times.

Dialogue was boring and bland and at moments obviously cheesy.

A size and impact of that supernova that Spac distinguished with the red matter, would take at least millions of years to occur in our galaxy. And when someone is traveling from planet to planet the people who stay their on the planets would be much older or dead by the next time they met up

The way Spac destructs the drill at the end couldn't have been accomplished before with his own planet, or did he just not think of it the first time.

THe only thing good about the movie was the special effects and Spacs character that isn't enough for an entertaining film.

Whatever... SB Cohen is coming out with the best comedies
19 November 2009
If you can get passed some of the awful disgusting (yet still funny) moments towards the beginning the rest of the film is comedic GOLD. Once again like Borat its controversial but even more so. It's not quite as good as Borat but DAMN CLOSE. EVERY controversial moment is absolutely hilarious. A few scenes are some of the funniest scenes I've seen this decade... along with stuff like Bad Santa, Borat, SuperBad, Napoleon, Etc.

Don't listen to the people who hate this movie or even thought it was just alright, if you like any of the movies I just listed.

It's much better than the Bruno on ALi G show, which isn't really lacking. But they just absolutely nailed it for the movie.

Bottom line, I didn't think it was going to be as funny as it is. I would have only gave it an 8 1/2 but I can't believe it's only rated 6.6 on IMDb. If you can put up or get passed the disgusting parts which are still pretty funny, you'll love Bruno.

great movie
17 November 2009
I can't believe this movie is only rated 6.8. It's better than Brave Heart. I would have only rated it a 9 but it's underrated on this site. It should have been nominated for best screen writing Oscar. Tim Roth is so good, its so amusing to watch him as Archubold. The cinematography is acceptional. A love story is in it which I'm not really a big fan of, this was its only little drawback. A good look at a true story in the early 18th century Scotland highlands. A great movie bottom line. Liam Neeson's best performance I'm aware of by far. The accents are all very well spoken so thats not a bother like some other movies do. Worth a watch and maybe to own.

Best War movie Ever!
25 August 2009
Easily the best war movie ever, not including Apocalypse Now as a war movie. Saving Private Ryan has a great yet simple plot, a very powerful and interesting story. The characters are all Very believable and some relatable. It is an Epic film, not only the best war movie ever but one of my favorite films. Tom Hanks is very likable, Tommy S is a bad ass. Paul Giamatti is great, even Vin Deisel is good, his most suiting and best role. Speilburg can really do a war film! The cinematography is great. It is the most accurate and raw depiction of Omaha beach on film period. Great film, great war movie. If you haven't seen it where have you been? Make sure you see it

Don't be fooled, Sheer amazement
25 August 2009
One of my favorite movies ever. So well done. The directing is amazing, it's Copallas most beautiful work, it's similar to the first GodFather, as one can tell how great the directing is in both. The Cinematography is just amazing for lack of a better term. The first hour and the last half hour you can just really see some amazing cinematography. Kurtz in the nonredux is never seen outside of darkness or shadow. The acting just blows me away, namely three-Sheen, Duvall, and Brando. The characters are all fantastic. What can you say about almost every character in Apocalypse; they are all great entertainment.

This movie is the definition of a classic film!

I waited for at least 6 months...
22 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I waited for along time to see this film. It sounded like a great premiss for a movie and a couple great actors who do an acceptional job but. Wow was this film an absolute disappointment. You really REALLy have to like QT amateur directing. His two best films and earliest films are good and appropriate for his directing style, Pulp Fiction and Resavoire Dogs (how ever you spell it) because the plot and story were so over the top and stylized. For a world war 2 movie, let alone a war movie his style of directing is ridiculous. IB's was the most over the top, and Wildly unrealistic war film I've ever seen. The end was incredibly stupid and unrealistic (Hollywood explosions and killing Nazis..Yea man!, no stupid as sh*t). The nazi general would have never been so stupid to make all these silly demands to a US official, let alone the whole end is just f#cking dumb that's just a tiny portion of its stupidity.

The music is similar to the last four Tarintino films and obviously he has some creative input on the music, and it doesn't match AT ALL, the music is so disproportionate just like every other element in this film.

His directing style needs to mature. Just like all film directors they have matured and corrected what needs to be for necessity of successful art.

I agree with someone on IMDb who stated that this movie was simply trying to entertain with violence and it sucks because there's nothing more to it besides one of the worst stories ever made up.

The action is QT and Hollywood cliché, and it's only there bc it's BS.

This was a bad excuse for a war story/plot to make Tarontinoesque violence. It sucked.

What kind of a movie was this, a failed attempt at a fantasy war? It's not historical fiction. It's not a drama (if it was it would need a much better plot and story), IT'S A GODMN MESS OF A FILM. EVERY OTHER FILM ON IMDb WITH TERRIBLE OVERWHELMING GENRE BLENDING GETS BAD RATINGS.... what about this movie? Worst story and genre blending in any movie ever!

LARGE disappointment! If you don't want to see an absurd and overrated action/war film do not see this. DID I MENTION THAT Hitler IS SHOT HUNDREDS OF TIMES? ARE YOU JOKING TARENTINO. I COULD WRITE THIS MOVIE! THE FACT THAT Hitler DIES IS JUST ABSURD, DORKY, LAME AND CHEESY. Sorry QT dorks, this movie f*cking sucked, worst story ever!!! Did I mention it's way too long.

Fantastic film making!
6 August 2009
Anyone who calls this long and boring must love movies like Transformers and GI Joe and Watchmen. This film is beautiful to the last drop. Great and interesting story, Awesome and interesting characters, Beautiful cinematography and some of the best dialogue I've heard in a movie in a long time; not to mention the breakthrough acting by all of the actors, Brad pitt should have been nominated for an Oscar, Casey Affleck pounded his skill into this movie, Sam Rockwell is intriguing, Renner is awesome.. the list goes on.

Great from start to finish, if you think it's slow AT All than you must not like a western kind of movie or simply don't like an interesting and compelling story. The cinematography by Deakins alone makes this a good film, not to mention everything else I've already listed. Watch it, if your not impressed than it's not for you but neither is anything about great film making. Best of 07' and 07' was a great year in American film.

Pretty Pretty good!
6 August 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I wasn't expecting much from this film. Actually I didn't even decide to watch it, I watched it with my dad. Wow, not only are there some really cool entertaining thrilling scenes, but it was the most satisfying twist ending I've seen in a long time. Seriously the movie is just alright up until the end, the end really did it for me. It didn't conform for a family or kid audience. It was actually something I really wanted and liked to see. Great job with the ending! Interesting story a pretty good plot, but man that ending really was killer. Some people might not like it but I can't imagine anyone who has a unique thinking mind or a artistic drive wouldn't like the ending; it made the whole movie better. It was like a fun and decently entertaining thriller of a movie until the end. Just watch for yourself and if you don't like it by the end there might be something wrong with you.

I wanted to see this for a long time, BUT! pretty bad
30 July 2009
Warning: Spoilers
The only reason I would give this movie a 2 is because of the great cinematography, And I love and do cinematography for college myself. But for what was it worth? The story is very subtle slow and frankly boring as hell. I love movies involving history, their my favorites! And I especially love westerns or most stuff involving indians. Lonesome Dove, Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee, Jeremiah Johnson Etc. I wanted to see this for along time coming but wow I was disappointed. I'm not particularly a fan of Costner but I think he does a fine good in some movies (Untouchables). His narration of the story is mono-toned (never let Costner do narration Obviously) so bland and bluh (boring). The story is slow and not interesting through out, it barely develops. The officer who commits suicide in the beginning, what the f*ck, quite irrelevant and stupid. The only climax is that he has a change of heart for the particular Indian tribe and he never disliked them to begin with. The white woman who was captured, her story is bland and her acting is border line awful. The only good acting is the actors who portray native Americans. I have no idea how it is so praised and sometimes considered a classic. I bought it for 5$ because I was sure it would at least be pretty good because I tend to love movies of this genre, But No Way! Dances with Wolves is bland, boring, the acting is mellow dramatic/ just bad. Who ever says it has a good moral or message is dumb too. There are much better movies with good white and Indian relationships. REMEMBER I WENT INTO WATCHING THIS MOVIE THINKING IT WAS GOING TO BE AT LEAST DESCENT. Trust me there is no classic here. The cinematography is good though, I'll give it that.

Good movie, I see how it's a classic.

For it's time it is very good cop thriller/drama. A one of a kind! The beginning starts off pretty fast, then it gets kind of slow for a while, the endless chasing got almost boring until I realized that is what much of the story is about, the chasing really grows on you (me). The characters are good and colorful, Gene a little racist (I wonder how the real Popeye was). I guess the real Popeye is in the movie in some scenes. Anyway the last forty-five minutes are an absolute thrill and the end is killer. Very unpredictable, original copper flick. Pretty entertaining and as a whole it's a good but not great movie, but for it's time it must have been just awesomely amusing, and it still pretty much is.
