The Secret Life of Pets (2016)
At times boring, but gives an interesting ride all over!
As the review title says, the film may make you feel bored at times, for the predictability and resemblances to other movies. However, the cute actions of the animated characters gives you and your kids a wonderful watch all through the film.
One more disappointment with the movie is that there are several animated characters to watch out for, and each and every one speaks of its importance in the story.
Nevertheless, the story will be engaging for you and keep your kids glued to the screens watching the amazing and sweet actions of the dogs and cats.
Finding Dory (2016)
Its the same as Finding Nemo!
Everything is same as in the prequel, Finding Nemo, except that you find more different characters this time with new places to look out for in the sea, and this time you can even spend more time on the land, than in the sea.
However, it is the same kids detective story of finding the parents back and reuniting with them finally by the end of the movie. One more aspect that keeps your interest in the movie is that Dory suffers with memory loss, which marks for several twists all over the movie.
So, it is a feel good movie with interesting elements to watch for and will keep you and your kids glued to the movie screen.
War Dogs (2016)
Crazy way of making money - War Dogs
The movie stands apart from the other recent releases and definitely is a must watch film, and delivers astounding performances by all the actors.
On one hand, while it has a well drafted story, on the other hand, the screenplay and direction did their perfect job in rendering a masterpiece of movie.
I mean, who believes that the US government invites bids from the normal people for their arms and ammunition requirement. This is one horrible thing that all the people should know about the Bush atrocious leadership.
Aurangzeb (2013)
Though the title does not feel apt, the movie is a good one to watch for all the underworld movies fans
I said so, because, you can find out that the story of the movie does not depend at all upon the story of the Aurangazeb, nor his quote from the history which is referred by Rishi Kapoor in the movie.
But, the movie offers you a decent watch, and further more if you are a hardcore fan of the movies based on underworld crimes like DON. All the main storytellers in the film have given their peak performances in delivering excellence.
The particular performance that I caught astounding is of Arjun Kapoor's. He did perfectly fine in his role, besides Jackie Shroff and Rishi Kapoor.
Shor in the City (2010)
Well played film of intertwined stories again in Bollywood film making
2010 is way past in Bollywood, but you will enjoy the film as relevant to the current trend in film-making, ignoring the recent developments. This gives you a hint of how futuristic are the makers of this film in story development.
The movie at times, will slow you down in entertainment, being selfish for its progression, but will gradually pick up the pace and present you with remarkable scenes.
Moreover, the first half of the movie is all about introductions, which I felt quite boring, but you will understand soon enough the reasons with the story-telling.
Riddick (2013)
A complete let down, albeit.....
Albeit a good presentation of monsters and different planets with great CGI affects; the movie was a complete let down, compared to its prequels.
There is no story, but pretends to be, and actually is just an extension of the conceived concept. Maybe, it bridges the gap between the prequel and the sequel, if there is ever going to be!
You would enjoy the character Riddick, but not much of an appealing he is when compared to the prior releases. The audience are assumed to be the followers of The Riddick series movies. So, you can't completely feel of what Riddick is capable of, and how it distinguishes him as the lead character!
If you have to know about Riddick, you should have watched or watch now the first two releases in the series.
So, in my opine, this release is a let down for the series and will definitely disappoint much of the Riddick fans!
World War Z (2013)
Well, it's The Brad in a Zombie Flick!
Obviously, very less people might have assumed that this could be a normal zombie flick, with lots of blood and gore in it, zombies with lost and dangling body parts, blood churning zombies or similar, whatsoever. Well, it ain't. This is an A-Class zombie movie.
I couldn't expect much from such a blend of team. I can only read much criticism. But, it ain't a movie of that kind. You will definitely enjoy it, the whole off it, from beginning till the end. There are many scenes in the movie, which can bring you to the verge of the seat, highly tensed, and it carries the same emotion and tense till the end.
And the only thing, that disappoints is the ending. Bcoz, I felt like, it could have been a little lengthier.
You will definitely feel the same, unless you are some countryman, expecting some blood and gore or a chick flick!!!!!!!!!
The Rundown (2003)
Falls under the list of......"could have been better, if...."
I rated this movie six, for the only reason that the movie trailer has really attracted me with some good action clips. Unfortunately, the movie has failed in keeping up-to the expectations, trailer has offered to the viewers.
Based on just a trailer, we can't rate 10 for an entire movie! And so, I give it a 6, for the decent action sequences and the performances the artists have rendered. The audience will definitely enjoy the emotion that it carries till the end. But, it has failed in fulfilling the audience expectations. All over the movie, the audience will have a sort of disappointment like, it could have been much better.
Obviously, The Rock does perform well, both on and off the screen in action sequences. But, the Director has failed in providing proper validity for many scenes, that the movie was built on. They were not explained properly in their importance related to the concept of the movie.
All over, the movie promises you, an adventurous ride, astounding action sequences, promising performance by Rock in action sequences, a good humor and a good fun time. But, still, it could have been much better.
Cloud Atlas (2012)
As David Mitchell says, "a sort of pointillist mosaic"
We have seen many movies in the past that deal with a plural number of stories (multiple story-lines) trying to prove a single point. In such movies that deal with different kinds of stories based on a singular point requires the best screenplay either in the novels or for the silver screen; to make sure an unbiased presentation prevails all over. Cloud Atlas is such movie containing six inter-woven stories trying to prove a single point, but are not based on a single point.
The movie is made of opulent and dramatic scenes, that gives its viewers a spellbinding and, yet a realistic experience. We never feel confused for the intertwined stories, but the kind of storytelling brings us to the edge of the seat till the end of the cinema.
The movie is special in its kind, for the stories in the movie are not based on a point but are interwoven and their relation in trying to prove a single point:
"An exploration of how the actions of individual lives impact one another in the past, present and future, as one soul is shaped from a killer into a hero, and an act of kindness ripples across centuries to inspire a revolution."
Worth a watch for all the movie-goers, and definitely worth spending for the ticket. Relax and enjoy the one-of-a-kind storytelling.
Eega (2012)
Spellbinding experience of an epic battle!
S.S.Rajamouli, the Director of this movie has undoubtedly proved his capability in dealing with Science fiction movies with utmost efficiency and artful cinematography.
Many science fiction movies highly budgeted and excellent script have gone completely wrong, in making up to the standards and audience expectations.
You will definitely enjoy the way the movie shows you, an epic battle between a fly and a human. Added to this are the Sudeep and Samantha performances that built the success of this movie.
Music of the movie is another such factor that has given a lively feeling of every scene, thereby captivating the audiences. The music is provided by Keeravani, for the movie.
