Dragonball Evolution (2009)
This was purposely made flop by 20th Century Fox.
After seeing this one, all I can say is that for some reason they needed a film to flop. At the moment I can't imagine what kind of tragic loop hole in the studio fiscal numbers could have prompted them to do this but I pose the question; why Dragon Ball?!! If for some reason this film was the result of poor research and disregard for authenticity, then both Ben Wong and mainly Ben Ramsey should be stung up by their feet and pelted with bile and human waste. It doesn't even help that they added evolution instead of Z which would have really spawned a violent reaction from a large fan community. Hands down, already one of the top 4 worst film adaptations ever made. Don't waste your money or time on this slovenly ball of Hollywood horse manure. I still don't know why or who gave this film the green light. I mean GOKU IS CAST AS A WHITE TEENAGER IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!! That to me is an indication to forget this film ever existed. This is definitely a bad move for Dune Entertainment. I'd say try the Wolverine film instead of this crap. But even so, why have any faith with the same group the messed up Max Panye, and made X-Men 3. Ha! I don't care if they read this, they need to anyway.

Should be included in the Top 10 Greatest Action Films of all Time!!!!
Simply put, this movie has everything an action fan could ever want!! Make sure you see this one!! It was one of the best movies I have ever seen!! And thats coming from me!!! Daniel Kahn Nelson!! Mr. Action Movie!! This gets a 20 out of 10!!! yes I know what I said and it is. I got the DVD at Dragon Con and it was truly worth every penny. There were flying knees, Powerful kicks, an awesome boat chase, a single shot action sequence that even I have no idea how it was done, spellbinding fight scenes that contrast styles, the baddest bone breaks in cinematic history, and a woman gets double knee struck off a helicopter. I was standing up at the end and I even gave an ovation. This was a masterpiece and I'd suggest it to any real action fan extrodenair!!
Black Mask 2: City of Masks (2002)
The Claw !!!!!!
Sure this film was terrible but it had its momments. In fact the best part of the film was the first introduction of the wrestlers. Rob Van Dam ruled but everthing else about the movie was awful!!!!!!!! That may even have been the only great momment of the film. I hate the entire concept of the genetic beasts!!! The overall design of the monsters was more to a horror movie effect and it was utterly excruciating!!! May this film forever rot in the bowels of the SiFi Channel vault!!! This could have been great if they excluded alot of the effects and did it the old school way!!!
"Thats all I got to say" - hah!

A true unknown classic!!!!!
DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT
This movie was awesome for its time. Man, the fight choreography was great and the timing was good also. At first I sense a let down but the minute I saw the main character I knew it was on!! This damn sure wasn't that step-by-step kung fu choreography you see in most period film of this nature. In fact, the movie was kind of contemporary. Any way I gave this film a 9/10, it was a classic!!!

Kill Bill: Vol. 1 (2003)
2 Hours of pure bloody joy Samurai Carnage!!!!!!
DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT
Wow! This had to be one the greatest movies I have ever seen! The cast was excellent and the choreography was spectacular! Also the anime cartoon-like antics of the characters was pure gold! The only fault I found in this film is that the sequence leading to the final fight could have done without the black and white. I say go blood red all the way. But anyway the music was awesome with its shades of "The good, the bad, and the ugly." This movie was also very stylized around Bruce Lee's "The Chinese Connection" and "Game of Death" along with a hint of "Enter the Dragon." Over all, its movies like this that stretch way beyond a one to ten rating so instead I give this masterpiece a gold star out of 10. Man I can't wait to see vol.2!!!!
By the way my favorite character was Go Go.
The Process (1998)
Get with the Process buddy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This movie was Awesome!!!!
DANIEL MANIA COMMENT #14
It's not often that one can find a diamond of a martial arts film for only $5.99 or $6.35 for you IRS loyalists. I don't know what other users were talking about! So the Reyes family were not pure good guys and every character in the movie appear to be on somthing. If anything, it gave the movie a different feel and variety from all those other martial arts hero flicks. After all it was acting for gods sake! Basicly the movie was a sort of unarmed less killing version of "The Big Hit." This is truly a must see for a true martial arts fan and hey, at least it better than a Black Belt film. My favorite characters were the Secretary and Jesse, who reminded me alot of my best friend Jonathan. All and all the techniques were solid, the choreography was great, and the movie was also a terrific comedy. The only problem I found with this one was a timing and precision contact problem with certain flying kicks. All in all the movie was a wonderful display of martial arts, immoral behavior, and heart attack comedy. This was definitly a 10/10 and better than a great lot of $22.99 dvd films and if a martial arts movie fan fails to see that then they are truly lost!!
P.S.- And really, who ever said a great film had to be morally sound!!!

Enter the Dragon (1973)
Bruce Lee The Master.
DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT
Well fight fans this is the movie that said it all! If I were to say anything about this film it would be that this was the one movie where Bruce said to the world, "I am the Master!" This movie truly immortalized Bruce Lee and if you have never seen this film and call your self a martial arts fan you should have yourself shot!! Because truly no one can call themselves a martial arts movie expert and not own this movie!!! This movie should unquestionably be ranked a 10/10 but also should not even have a rating because of it's revolutionary status in the movie world.

A Rare Treat!!!!!!!!!!
At first I thought this one was going to suck but as soon as I saw the fight scenes I quickly change my tune. The fight choreography was beautiful and the best part about it was that the film had a decent story. The wardrobe was great in this one and the setting cinematography was awesome. That woman can really fight and I personally would not want to tango with her!!!
All in All I gave this movie a 9/10 and the only reason I did not give it a 10 was because of the way the main villain was killed. I mean really, how many times have we seen the old chain hanging bit!
Gugje gyeonchal (1976)
If only the choreography were done better.
DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT
I for one thought this film was ok but some to the concepts were completely silly. First of all I would have thrown out the whole kung fu animal power idea and gone with a more stylized martial art choreography. I also would have played the mexican music during the fight scenes and changed the looks of the main character to add a more spicy appeal to the film. I would have also showed the nude sword torcher scene during the final battle in the cave. All in All this could have been a hundred times better so I give it a 7/10 for concept.
P.S.- Let this be a warning to the director and writter of this film that the choreography in a martial arts film can make or break it!!!!!!

Los Angeles Streetfighter (1985)
I only wish I could have directed this film!!!!
DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT
I thought that Ninja Turf could have been done alot better. Personally I would have worked on the cinematics because you could barely see the fight scenes and I also would have done the entire ending to this film differently. For one thing I would have had the rival gangs join forces with the drug dealers and have the main characters fight them all in the same building floor by floor. I also would have made it a lot more bloodier and made the choreography a lot more furious, complicated, wild and sophisticated. I gave this film a 7/10 because it could have been so much better and it was poorly written.
Tian can di que (1979)
Ok for a one time watch but the ending could have been better!!!
-DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT-
The film was ok and the concept was acceptable but the ending could have been better! The villian was a little corny with the whole iron back attacks and when they beat him they should have taken his limbs off!! I mean gosh, the viewer would think that after all of that the two main characters should have returned the favor and cut off the evil master's arms and legs!!
Anyway this is not a movie I could set through again and it was definitely a 5/10.

DANIEL MANIA! COMMENT
All I have to say is that the movie had some good fight seems but the ending sucked, choreography was horrible, the white guy was cool, and the music was awesome but this is not something I could set through again!! All in all this was a boring piece of film but the good thing is that it was not as bad as 9 Deaths of the Ninja!!!

Street Fighter (1994)
Everything Could Have Been Better!!!!! But the idea was genius!!!!!!!!!
DANIEL MANIA COMMENT #10
This was one of the greatest box office travisties in the history of film!!!! I admit that Van Damn was the best person to play Colonel Guile and Raul Julia was a great M.Bison but the rest of the entire film was left in shambles!! Why Oh Why??!!!!!!!!
First of all there were no decent special effects in the entire film. Second, the costume designer should have been drug out into the street and shot after the film's premier!!!!! Blanka looked like E.T. on steriods and why the hell was Balrog rolling with Chun Li Zhang. Here are some questions I have for the producer and director of this film!!!
Why did Vega have black hair?? Why was D.J. a computer hacker??? Why were the two actors who played Ryu and Ken casted???? Where were the special effects?????!!!! Why was T-Hawk with the A.N.?????? I would just like to know.
Ok the movie was very bad, however, I do suggest that it be added to your Martial Arts dvd collection because of it's genius concept. I mean the story was great and the martial arts choreography was ok minus the so-called special moves!!!! This is an 8/10 and nothing more and the only reason I don't scorch this film with a 2/10 is because of the idea in general and the story.
Once again this is Daniel K. Nelson giving you a better comment on an underrated movie. Be sure to ask about my burning of the film "9 Deaths of the Ninja," the absolute worst ninja film I have ever seen!!!!!!!!
Double Dragon (1994)
Became a classic over time but I'd never count it as a Great Film.
DANIEL MANIA COMMENT #8
Well fight fans I really must say that DOUBLE DRAGON was a favorite of mine. It may not have had the potential to be a great film but it is an enjoyable one. Truly, the movie becomes what the viewer makes of it. I for one consider it a must have for any fan of 80s martial arts. Even though the movie was produced in 1994, it still retains a sort of 80s feel. But all in all it is a great film to have in your Martial Arts DVD collection if you are lucky enough to find a copy. That is one of the reasons this critic considers the movie a treasure. This movie gets an 8/10 film wise but for entertainment and classic cinema it gets a 10/10.
-A true must have movie for a true martial arts movie fan!!!

Bloodsport 2 (1996)
The Absolute Best Movie, Tournament Wise!!!!!
Hello again fight fans and get ready for another dose of DANIEL MANIA!!!
Well besides the first movie, this was the best tournament movie ever. There were plenty of fights, more than the first one, and the story was great not to mention the villian. Oong Soo Han was the absolute best Bloodsport villian ever. He was ruthless and nearly unstoppable. This movie also had more variety in it's combatants, not to mention the great choreography. This movie also had something no other tournament movie ever had and that was the fact that nothing interfered with the final battle. In most movies like this true fans are often let down when the movie has gone well and the director decides to confict some other event in the movie with the final battle. Trust me many great tournament movies have often been ruined by such stupid ideas. But thank god that the director of this movie had more sense than many others who would have ruined this masterpiece. I mean the final battle in this film went as smooth as a Rocky fight!! So all in all I give this a 10/10 and believe me it definitely earned every point!!!
- Be sure to keep your eyes open for my next DANIEL MANIA comment of the day!!!!

A Modern Masterpiece That Should Have Won An Oscar!!!!!!
Hey Action Freaks!!! Daniel Mania is here once again to give you a real comment on a great Hong Kong Film that was UNDER-RATED!!!!!!!!!!! This movie, to me, stood out from the rest. The reason why I thought so highly of this film was because it not only had killer choreography and an awesome story-line, but it also shows us how martial arts fits into modern-day society. I mean in society today it's all about the gun and people have forgotten how to stand and fight like a man!!! If you ask this martial arts movie critic, I believe that the overall point or ideology of this film was to remind the audience that there will always be the honor and tradition of a good fight. I mean after all what are you going to do if you run out of bullets?!!!!! -And for the record, Jackie Chan is truly a great actor. This film showed us how martial arts can be used in a contemporary setting.
All-in-All the final fight was the stuff of legend and should not go un-scene by any action movie fan! This movie was undoubtedly a 10 out of 10. But if I could I would give it a 20!!! Basically if you haven't seen this one yet you have no soul!!
Judgment Night (1993)
The Greatest Movie I Have Ever Seen!!!!!!
DANIEL MANIA
This was beyond a shadow of a doubt the best film I have ever seen!!! I think it should have swept the Oscars and is one of the most UNDERLY-RATED film ever made. This was Leary's best movie in my opinion and you can't be an action movie fan and never have seen this masterpiece of a thriller!!!!!!! There isn't that many excuses for not having seen this movie and if you haven't I strongly suggest you do as soon as possible!!!! The symbolism and ideology of this film are the makings of a genius and the acting is that of greatness. All in All I could go on for hours upon hours talking about this film but I make this brief. This was a true 5 star film with a 10/10 and a 20/20. So please do yourself a favor and make a mends to see this movie!!!

Ninja Tour de Force
Hi Fight Fans!!!!! It's Daniel Kahn Nelson, here once again to give you a proper statement on a great martial arts film!!!!
This is without a doubt the greatest ninja film ever created! This film had it all- Sonny Chiba, Samurai, spider ninja, knife fighters, swordsmen, assassins, black ninja, kung-fu people from china, blade-staff women, beautiful scenery, great choreography, a great story, romance, vengeance, treachery, and just about every weapon that could be used in it's type of film. My god, what more could an action movie fan ask for!!!!!!! I mean wow. Well after getting that out I'd give this beautiful work of art called a film 20 out of 10!!!!!
- Truly a must see for any type of action movie fan- kind of like Scareface!-

Refreshing.
Hello action movie fans!!! This is your Martial Arts movie extrordenair DANIEL KAHN NELSON!!! Here to offer you true martial arts movie fans a real critical view of Hong Kong and Japanese cinema!!! In the next couple of weeks I will be commenting on movies that have been under-rated and not judged carefully enough so be sure to watch where I strike next!!!
This was actually a pretty good film. There was however one cheesy but cool moment, that being when Bruce Li put on oil to make himself smooth and slippery during a fight with the drug lord's body guard. In fact it was quite funny. But the fight seens involving the female assistant were well choreographed and the final fight seen was awesome yet left something to be desired. All in all a well earned 8 out of 10.
