Kojot (2017)
Slow, weird, poor movie
So the premise, plot sounded okay. I thought it'd be your classic "underdog is bullied but somehow overcomes the bully and wins", but this doesn't exactly fit that. The opening alone is just out of left field and disjointed.
Character development is slow and odd. Estranged relationships that never heal. Rash, illogical actions abound. It seems to want to follow a successful recipe but it just falls flat. There's no clear winner and no Justice or revelation had. Camera work is a bit challenged here and there. Dialogue is also flat. Makeup and some effects are hokie and poorly done. It's certainly not worth watching. I was working while it played so at least I didn't lose the time, just the brain cells from watching it!
Us (2019)
So so so over-rated weak plot and too long
I thought it had potential, but fell flat. Casting was fine, settings okay, but the plot was just very weak. Slow first 30 minutes, weak middle 60, frustrating action last 40 minutes. Predictable final scene.
There is some early confusing scene content (rabbits), which is explained later but the explanation isn't satisfying. There are decisions and actions that are frustrating, typical kind that resemble many horror/thriller actions that makes the viewer say "oh come on!" And not in a good way.
The early reveal still isn't very satisfying. The extent of the reveal is a small surprise, but then leads to more "oh come on" feelings.
So, a waste of time for me.
The Blackwell Ghost (2017)
Terrible waste of time! Objectively and entertainment wise, worthless!
This is nothing more than a really bad, short film, yet smart move on the "film makers" part. It's a lousy show. But all he needs is people to click on it. It's cost little to make but, in this age of streaming, at the finger tips of tens of thousands of potential viewers, he'll make money. He's laughing all the way to the bank. Thinking objectively, it s just not worth watching.

The high marks are either from someone promoting a personal interest or someone laughing, trying to pull others in to waste their time just as they did. There's no way this "film" warrants anything over a "5" and every reason it earns a 2 or lower.
Dangerous Methods (2022)
Plot = C, Acting = D, Casting = C-, Location/settings = D, Ending = F
Weird, weak, waste of time. Luckily it was 4am when I watched this, so no productivity lots, just time. I agree with a previous review that the music backing track it too loud, making actual dialogue difficult to hear. An "isolated cabin" yet we easily see truck and car headlights on the very nearby road in a night scene. Awkward to poor acting on pretty much everyone's part. Casting of supports actors was hokie, especially the Police and Doctor. Rachelle Brooke Smith's acting was similarly poor; especially her nervousness and crying scenes, but at least she's very nice to look at. Weak, unsatisfying ending.
Titanic: Sinking the Myths (2017)
Mediocre at best
Docudrama where the "drama" or performance is the weaker part of this. The information and commentary by the experts is the better part. Ed Adsner's whole story line is boring, contrived and weak, in my opinion. I love a good documentary, I'm open to a docudrama but this fell a bit short for me.
Valhalla Rising (2009)
suited only for the die-hard artsy and philosophic cinephile, not for the average viewer
Story = D, Characters = C, Setting = C, Cinematography = B+, Entertainment = F
As maybe an average+ movie fan, I'm open to movies taking chances and risks as long as it produces something with a little substance. Well, to be fair, Valhalla Rising does produce little substance...very little. Check the summary and other reviews for the very few particular details there are for this movie. MY review is for its "watchability" and entertainment value for the average movie goer.
Unless you are really, REALLY into artsy movies where artistry is the goal and not into being entertained by a story movies often tell, don't waste your time, even on DVD with this one.
I love period pieces. Love a good Viking. Exploration. Fighting, mystery, symbology and philosophy. But I did not love this movie. I think those who are in the movie review business will like this much more than the movie goer. Those in the biz probably see Sooooo many movies that they grow tired and weary of the formulas and therefor welcome more the unusual movies that come out (as long as they are well made).
As others mentioned, it is very slow, dark, bleak, boring, with some violent fight scenes. Very little dialogue, little to no information delivered by the characters as to what/why/when/where and who. It has some slow motion/dream/drug state moments and visions and tops off with a ridiculous ending.
The character development is almost non-existent. The main character "one eye" does NOT posses "super natural ability" that the summary and others mention. Did we watch the same movie? He's a good fighter but so was Russell Crow in Gladiator - no super powers yet they did similar things. One eye's glare (he's mute) does not transcend words. He doesn't even gesture to communicate. Really the only person I like in this movie was the boy "Are" probably 'cause he talks and mad a funny when he gave one-eye his official name.
I gave this a "2" because I went to Scotland, walked some of the same country side and so I enjoyed seeing the filming location which helped me get into the beginning of this movie. Once in, I was obligated to finish it. But for you.... avoid this. Save time and Money. Seriously.
