Paranormal Activity 2 (2010)
Better than the first I thought
It had a creepy intense feel to it.... sad in places too. It would be hard for those people who don't have children to understand what I mean by sad. Even harder for anyone to grasp the concept of anything spiritual or "paranormal" if they have not been a witness to it themselves. Paranormal Activity (the first one) reminded me of a slow burning Blair Witch Project. This had a more action & energy to it. The camera angles were much better than the first. I didn't expect it to have the ending that it did. The incidental sounds were spooky and it helped add some thickness/substance to what could be called a bland security clip caught on video.
I've read a few negative comments on this movie from viewers that obviously can't comprehend what paranormal means. This is not your typical Hollywood 'boogieman in the wardrobe' blockbuster that horror fans wish for nor is it your run of the mill blood, gore and screaming dumb blond running away from a hideous monster type of movie. I found it intriguing, slightly disturbing but overall, creepy and intense.
Avatar (2009)
An Amazing Movie - Must See
The animation work was simply spectacular. A lot of love, care and detail went into the creation of the Na'vi and the environment of Pandora. One of the characters in Avatar, Neytiri stood out a mile and you'd be forgiven if you shed a tear in some of the scenes she's in.
If you can look passed the futuristic nature and actually feel the moral of the story, you will appreciate the message being said. That is what I found most interesting about the movie; the historical nature of the human race.
This could be a wake up call for humanity and maybe that was James Camerons ambition? It is certainly better to make your own decision but I would thoroughly recommend watching Avatar yourself on big screen. Do not wait for it to come out on video unless of course you have a 90inch TV.
An amazing movie. Thank you James Cameron and everyone else involved in the production of Avatar.
Blue Gold: World Water Wars (2008)
Fantastic and Highly Recommended
This is a brilliant documentation which reminds us of how valuable a commodity water is and how easily the western world takes it unwittingly for granted. The information contained in the video is detailed and very well presented. Some of the contents was scary especially the political side of this resource which quite frankly should be non-existent. Water is life and everyone on the face of this planet should have access to it. I believe this movie would do well in schools worldwide. More awareness needs to be made of our dwindling resource and also the exposure of how corporate giants and private collectives are trying to control and profiteer from an essential commodity. I would encourage everyone to purchase this movie in show of support for Sam Bozzo's excellent presentation. I'll definitely be looking out for more work from Bozzo in the future. 10/10!
