Ash & Dust (2022)

Style over substance

Gave it 15mins, the long establishing shot which went nowhere was a hint of what was to come.

The music, sound composition is above average, the atmospheric setting nice and gloomy. Couldnt help feel this movie was more about style setting than any realism.

For intance, I couldnt get past the small things ie. In the opening scene the guy who gets off the horse to shoot the other guy with the mysterious gold box. The physical presence was way over acted. Then there is no way in hell a horse would stand a few meters away from a guy who just shot off a round into another person, without the horse bolting from the sound. This was simply unrealistic and made me hit the stop button. Life is to short for another bad movie.

Yeah lights exist, if you want to waste an hour of your life on this trash go ahead cause this excuse is filled with blurry lights, bad camera work, convoluted script and none sensical voice overdubs.

Basically a bunch of guys go camping in Utah and discover nothing extrordinary, yet skin walkers, where you say? Not in this trashy excuse for a film where nothing exciting happens.

There is nothing here but imaginative trying really hard to make believe, conspiracorial, try hard mythological exploitation.

Using 2 native Americans as basic props to conjure a fake narrative for this conspiracorual trash is pure exploitation.

Avoid, life is short.

Operation Lost Boy (2023)

Better serviced in a 1hr doco

Operation lost boys opens with a impeding arrest of a pedophile network somewhere in middle America, then switches to where and how the investigation all started in Norway.

This series was well made unfortunately it shouldve been ONE off documentary. There was so much filler and repeat interviews in this series that it spoiled the end result.

In some instances it seemed more of a PR marketing drive for law enforcement than the actual topic it started out with in the first episode. The prepetrator busts were covered in the bare minimum.

This would've been better served as a one and half hour documentary. 5 episodes of repetative garbage we didnt need to know or have drilled into our psyches just got boring by episode 5.

If you are tempted by this series Watch episode1 skip to 5 you wont have missed much inbetween besides long interviews of the relationships between the norweign cops ffs hilariously painful.

This is a big pile of edited partisan garbage to sow a convenient GOP narrative for poor old indicted mob boss DonaldJDump and his fellowship of indicted US traitors.

There was a few times during his woeful presidency he gave inclinged he was a Russian asset. After the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022 Trump, Flynn and others from the FR of the GOP have openly shown they have/still do colluded (openly supported/cheered) with Putler and the Russians to undermine the Fabric of American democracy. We call it foreign interference, all so known as treason.

If you still think Trump is being unfairly treated congrats to you, your lobotomy was a raging success and your cult membership is still valid (as long as you continue to donate your hard earned).

Where do i start?

Watched this off the cuff, knew nothing about the guy before hand. Hoped this would be good, oh boy was i wrong.

This dude is a self absorbed muppet. Drug stories are fine but HIS are just high school grade attempts at humour. Might pay for him to lay off the dope for a while and work on his material and delivery.

Tries so hard to be outrageous, just comes across as a over bearing try hard. A so called 'comedian' who laughs at his own pathetic jokes, while the paying crowd mildly sit with anticipation that the show will get better.

I lasted 20mins, better things to do in life than waste time on hearing Eric Andres drug stories and how many times he jerks off.

Watch if you're really really desperate to waste time in your life.

Very good expose on the fakenews virus infecting America (mainly conservatives). Exposes two conservative peanuts(who clearly highlight theyre manufacturing fakenews) trying to frame Mueller with sexual assault trying to damage his Russian investigation (they fail hard).

Also touches on the pizzagate conspiracy, highlightling how the so called pro business mob tried to destroy a business owner, cause of garbage they got brainwashed by online. Touches on how/why that bloated oxgen thief Alex Jones (who used dead children to grift from imbeciles online) got de-platformed. Hightlights where, how it started, spread, how Russia uses the same methods plus much more.

Quality horror anthology production, in the vein of the recent Creepshow anthology. Every episode was pretty strong in story and production value, only let down by the Florida episode.

An excellent brooding psychological thriller, nice story with enough twists, slow long pans and zoom shots, with a sound score filled with menace and a plethoria of atmospheric drones sets the viewer up for a decent finale. Overall competent decent acting, film reminded me of 'silence of the lambs'.

Exorcism at 60,000 Feet (2019)

They tried to make a horror spoof film but didnt succeed. Actoring was forced & amateur, comedy was forced and robotic. Script ran out of puff half way through(being generous). Set was to limited for feature length.

It had a few laughs, script dialogue was a tad overblown in some scenes, killing the jokes. Main characters acting was good enough for a indie movie, though it wasn't consistent throughout the whole movie.

The movie is average, its good in parts, and bad in parts.

Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts (2017)

Rural indonesian life

A indonesian rape/revenge movie in four parts. The males are mindless thugs, and early on you realize marlina is not a push over. The movie is pretty slow moving but as its set in rural indonesia, it reflects the isolation of how it is in those island areas. The policemen scene, pretty much sums up how you deal with indonesian bureauracy in real life. The cinematography is majestic and with accompanying music remind me of 70s spaghetti westerns, in some scenes even felt there were hints of tarantino. Overall, slow paced watchable movie.

Creepshow (2019– )

Best Creepshow production since the original movie. Production quality is excellent from sets, acting, storys and especially the sound. The use of comics to accelerate time/story development in the storys is an awesome addition.

Was hopeful for this show, unfortunately its nothing more than a stylized film version of overview of wikipedia. Same formula every week, at the end of each episode viewer is left with nothing more than info. that was presented in the first 5minutes. Watch 70s version of "in search of....." its a little out dated, yet offers so much more than this.

Batwoman (2019–2022)

Cant relate to this at all, ruby rose is probably a nice girl BUT it's Batwoman, a crime fighter, the casting for the lead is totally wrong. She comes across as cardboard, her physical appearance as a crime foghter is laughable, she looks like a teenage prubescent boy. Script wise besides ripping off batmans back story, it is full of rammed down your throat modern conflictions. Give it two stars for production quality only.

Satanic Panic (2019)

Was expecting way more, considering 'Fangoria' put there name to this movie, unfortunately it was yet another modern day time waster. Bad script writing, stupid character decisions, bad acting & some horrendous dialogue, which apparently is supposed to be funny.

Watched this as a kids and it scared the begeezus outta me, a lasting image of the priest hanging from the mast etched this film into my mind to this day. It was a TV movie at the time, yet having just watched a nice clean version i found, it shouldve been released in grindhouse cinemas at the time (70s).

This is classic suspense horror, added plus the music resembles the band 'Goblin', who did many of the italian zombie horror classic film scores.

Totally recommended, if you can find a dvd copy, vhs copy floating around the net doesnt do the film justice. Classic

Not sure if this was made for the big screen but this felt like an afternoon TV movie. Story was predictable, main characters behavour was illogical at times, as were the supporting casts behavours and actions. Only watch if your have way to much time in your life to waste. This movie adds nothing new.

Annabelle Comes Home (2019)

Average at best

Many people reviewing this film with 8,9 or 10/10 obviously have very low expectations in film. Having seem all the Annabelle and Conjuring films, this one could only be summed up as an average, overall pretty tame affair.

The main cast do a pretty good job overall, the set is nice, but the sudden appearing fog and the horror in general were crappola, just cheap jump scares. What the hell was with the werewolf? Had no relevance to the entire movie, totally destroyed any connection of being captured in the moment of the story. After Mr wolf, i knew i was watching a film NOT captured in the moment of the film like a fly on the wall.

Then there's the so called beyond evil spirited Annabelle doll, which was so easy to deal with, ya just pick it up and take it back and store in the "do not ever disturb" case, basic flaws like this destroy credability in the believablity of the screenplay.

Annabelle is now just a franchise rehashing the same film tricks to guarrante stakeholders a cashcow. Unfortunately Annabelle is overrated, Wait for the download save your moneyz.

Mondo Freudo (1966)

pretty boring overall but has some value.........

This mondo feature (released as a double feature of Mondo Bizarre & Mondo Freudo) both are a pretty tame affairs. Released in 1966, these films say a lot about the mental state of men during these times.

The way the film is made it obviously highlights mainstream mens repressed sexual fascination with women. That being said, for balance the film makers included one token half naked male.

Everything is obviously faked as the viewer is exposed to everything from bra fittings behind double sided mirrors, lovers frolicking on the beach, to strip club shows to slave auctions in the desert. All contrived to tell the story of men perving on naked women in different situations.

There is little here of value to educate or shock, considering to what's available to anyone with internet access in todays modern world.

The film is rather a time capsule highlighting the nature of mens sexual desires and fantasies in the mid sixties.

Archer (2009–2023)

Love it, the jokes, the puns, the dry wit. The rotoscope animation is awesome, reminds me of a similar effect done in the "A Scanner Darkly" movie.

The character dynamics are pretty good. The changing themes each season also refresh the show.

Definitely watchable as light entertainment, don't take it to serious. enjoy the ride that is Archer!

F Is for Family (2015–2021)

Totally surprised, awesome show bring on season 3

This little gem come outta left field, was not expecting how awesome this show was to become. F is for family is the cartoon version of "married with children", exception being that the families life is being told through the shifty seventies.

The story revolves around the highs and lows of suburban life, lived through the seventies and its pretty accurate. The characters are all pretty likeable. From stressed out Frank, his metal goof ball son, to the cocaine sniffing hedonistic next door neighbour.

Hanging for Season 3, definitely recommended for people who like animation, comedy and want a pretty accurate sense of the seventies.

Ash vs Evil Dead (2015–2018)

Grooooovy blood soiled fun!

If you take this show seriously, you really need an attitude adjustment. This show is Evil Dead 2 on steroids it's gory, fun and full of puns (request: needs some demonic nuns).

For fans of the movies everything's here deadites, chainsaws, the cabin, the trailer, the necronomicon, the Kandairan dagger and back story.

As a fan of the original trilogy of movies, the Ash v Evil Dead TV series is an awesome addition to the evil dead franchise.

Soaked in Bleach (2015)

Briiliant Expose

In 1994 when the news came through of Kurts passing, I personally thought CL had something to do with his death. But I actually thought that she drove him into the state that triggered his suicide.

After viewing this doco, I don't believe Kurt was suicidal or depressed. I think after becoming a father he wanted to change himself and that included cleaning himself up (hence why he was in rehab), removing the bad influences in his life (Why ignored CL's telephone calls whilst in rehab) and remove himself the junkie lifestyle. I'm guess that's why a divorce was on the cards, according to his known friends.

The motive exposed in this film if plausible and when forming a opinion on how, who and why, that it shouldn't be taken lightly that someone who is potentially losing a fortune plus all the fame that comes with it. Especially someone with CL's personality of extremes could be capable of the acts that this doco is claiming. Any realistic and reasonable person could see that it's not far fetched. Want proof, watch any of those reality crime shows (48hours etc) some people will do anything and everything for money and fame.

This docudrama puts forward a straight forward argument that CL had a hand in his death. The many inconsistencies in the case from the lack of police investigation to CL's own mouth uttering words that show she is someone who is obviously utterly insecure, has an extremely addictive and aggressive personality which is capable of anything, that includes potentially murder or conspiracy to.

As a made film, The dark atmosphere and constant rain during the interview segments gives the film a sense of sullen and unfulfilled conclusion.

If anything, I hope this docudrama opens up an enough discussion and pressure on the Seattle police to re-open the case and investigate this case until the full truth actually comes out. Kurt Cobain was a generational music icon and deserves the right to have his death investigated till all the facts of the truth are known.

The Evil Dead (1981)

Greatest Horror/Gore film of all time.........................

Saw this in the early 80's and have watched this on numerous occasions since, IT is by far the greatest Horror film ever made, sure there have been some that have come close, but the EVIL DEAD with its low budget mash potato gore FX, Droning sound score which helped extrude the shear frightful tension from being isolated in the woods, there is NO greater movie of its kind.

This movie also has a great little story line, with great props, camera angles and maneuvers, location/set and a great small cast(Bruce Campbell was brilliant even better in ED2) the rest did a stella job and I thoroughly enjoyed watching them all die!!!!

Watching this now a lot of people may dismiss this as low budget crap or a tad tacky, but when it was release in the early 80's, this was a horrorheads delight, and inspired so many great spin off so in true spinal tap tradition i'm giving it a 11/10
