King Charles III (2017)
BBC GARBAGE
Without any spoilers it seems the writers totally missed the point of the actual main plot, well can't expect anything else from the likes of the BBC.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Mediocre Unoriginal Garbage
Seen one seen them all, Battleship, Battle for LA, Edge of Tomorrow, all the same... Aliens come mankind about to fall... Oh and the way too much CGI in your face.
Nearly feel asleep. =(
Shadow in the Cloud (2020)
Weird Brilliance!
Set in WW2 with Vampire monster, A B-17, Japanese Zeros with Kate Bush music lol.
Awesome!
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
Utter trash
Over the top CGI, with endless tirades of emotional garbage. Trying just too hard to be politcally correct. This isn't Star Trek, even Picard is much better, and he's way past his sell by date.
Life (2017)
Most scary movie since Alien
Really well made and with believable science for good meassure! I've watched many science fiction horror movies, and this is in the top 5. The production actually did some research before making the movie, and it shows. feels quite real and very scary. Seriously you have to watch this, so much junk out there, hard to find the gems like this one. this movie has suspense, horror, great scripting/story, jumpy scenes the lot! (Just don't eat anything before watching, you might bring it back up... a few scenes are quite, let's say... 'disturbing')
I'm not going to say more without spoilers.
I just can't knock it!
A sequel would be awesome!
La nuit a dévoré le monde (2018)
Could have been awesome...
Excellent to start with, but with one MAJOR flaw, the electric supply was still working, er why didn't he listen to a bloody radio or TV to find out what was really going on? Even if it was just an emergency broadcast.... seriously... these script writers...
I just had to turn it off half way through, he should have checked his phone, or a TV/Radio like in the first half... The bloody elecrtric supply was still functioning... omfg...
The Predator (2018)
Utter rubbish, what has happened to 'suspense and actually feeling scared'.
Oh dear, what is there to say, really only needs a 4 letter word to describe this childish piece of junk. OK has the odd 'funny moment',
...but totally lacks;
Suspense
Horror, Scary scenes
A Story
I know it's not supposed to be Shakespeare, but seriously the first 2 movies felt like watching just that when compared to 'this'...
CGI waaaay over the top.
Could add more, but I don't with to 'spoil it'...
5th Passenger (2017)
Very low budget garbage
How the this piece of utter trash got those high ratings is beyond me, the acting pretty much sub standard, bordering on crap, seen better special effects in 1970's Dr Who...
Save yourself the time, go do something more interesting like mowing your lawn...
2012 (2009)
Switch off your brain sit back and enjoy the best disaster movie of all time!
I just don't know why some people hated this awesome disaster movie, for my a really great movie, is a movie that can be watched, again and again and again.
The special effects are incredible, watch it in HD on Blu-ray, pause the action sequences, there's just so much happening in each frame it's just amazing.
The story and plot are easy to follow, now and again, I love to just relax and watch it for the roller-coaster non-stop thrill ride it truly is.
I can count on my hand how many movies are actually worth watching more than once and this is one of them.
The Last Days on Mars (2013)
Ignore the bad reviews, this is movie is... disturbing
I gave this movie a 10 out of 10 to try and balance it against the negative reviews (it deserves at least a 6.5 or 7) Without adding any spoilers, I'll only say it's well worth a watch, the acting was good enough that I actually lost myself in the movie without thinking "god this is a movie", it isn't reality.
I very nearly gave it a miss, I'll never trust negative reviews again until I've seen the movie and made up my own mind.
What really sets this movie apart from many others is you're left feeling well, 'disturbed' thinking what if... (you'll get what I mean if you watch it).
For a low budget movie, they really spent the money well, from the Mars rovers to the environmental habitat, all was quite believable.
I even liked the 'international' feel of the movie, not just Americans, but a joint Mars venture by a group of nations.
Final word... Be scared of what's out there, be afraid, be very afraid, even more terrifying than a nuclear war.
All Is Lost (2013)
A tough old bastard, human endurance at it's best!
This has to be one of Robert Redford's best films, 1 director, 1 actor, with an excellent music score, especially 'Alex Ebert - Amen' at the closing sequence, that wraps up the movie in the best moody way possible.
I really was engrossed with this movie, hardly any words from Robert Redford, just an old man on a boat fighting to stay alive against all odds.
I really wish there were more movies with such spiritual empathy, something that really connects you to the main and only character, I was totally mesmerised, and gave this film a 10 out of 10, it deserves nothing less.
It really is moving, from the isolation of an old man that wants to live to see another another day, up against all odds, he put people that are 60 years his junior to shame with his utter endurance and will to survive in the fierce untamed Indian Ocean.
Amazing cinematography, enhanced by the beautiful sea creatures of this beautiful planet we are so lucky to share, it isn't often a movie with so much enchantment comes along, so make the most of it, it's well worth watching.
Going to watch it again with my father, who is an old navy sea dog, I just know he will love it.
Final word, 'it's magical'.
Monsters (2010)
Spiritual Sci-Fi, don't watch if you have a low IQ.
A beautifully made road trip emotional science fiction masterpiece, epic looking movie made on a small budget. Based around 2 lost souls, Andrew Kaulder and Samantha Wynden.
The music and sounds of this movie are fantastic. There's always so much going on, the story and acting all believable and feels like real life documentary drama not unlike District-9 but far better.
I've watch this movie 12 times, that says it all, not many movies out there even worth watching once.
There's not a huge amount of action, but then again this isn't really a movie for the spiritually retarded.
Vanishing on 7th Street (2010)
People just have no imagination these days, USE YOUR BRAIN.
This movie was awesome, original, and had a great start, I loved it and actually jumped in some scenes (that says a lot these days, with the brainless trash out there).
1: The effects: plenty good enough.
2: The story ORIGINAL 3: Great camera work 4: NOT ONE DUMB ZOMBIE IN SIGHT! 5: Great to have movies from the first person perspective and no stupid brain-dead soldiers running around blowing things up.
6: Just seems any movie that has a 'church' or some religious undertones gets slated, too many motor-mouth narrow minded atheists out there, I'm no Christain but I do have an open mind, if you have an IQ in the double digits this movie isn't for you, best stick with Iron Man or Hell Boy.
Vanishing on 7th Street was worth every minute, I love a movie that keeps you guessing.
Silent Running (1972)
One of the best movies of all time.
I first watched this movie when I was 11, on TV around 1981, this was the first movie to ever spark a real emotional response in me and still does to this day.
It is just as powerful today (probably more so) than it was in 1972. I really suggest you watch this movie, probably best watched alone, so you can really get into it, it shows the best and the worst in human kind, I really hope something like this doesn't come to pass, and the end sequence is extremely moving, the music excellent.
I have given it a 10 out of 10 score, it really deserves nothing less.
It's a real shame we don't make movies like this anymore.
Skyline (2010)
Far better than the moaners say!
I didn't watch this movie, solely on the advice from armchair movie critics and critics alike, ... well I will NEVER let a critic decide for me again! For a budget of only $10 million, this movie is a masterpiece!, I enjoyed it from beginning to end, most of the movie was set in an apartment block, but you could see all the world falling apart from the window, the battles were awesome, the acting good enough, don't listen to the critics watch it for yourself, oh and a bad ending some say?... Well it's obviously been setup for a sequel.
If a movie keeps you entertained from beginning to end, which this movie does very well, then what's the problem?
DON'T MISS IT!!!!!
Harry Brown (2009)
A Depressing Realistic View OF Britain.
This must be the best Micheal Caine film I have ever seen! There's gun crime in inner cities in Britain, see the recent CCTV footage of a Hoodie being tackled by Martin Richardson in a recent Leeds betting shop robbery, we need more heroes like this! Crime is rampant and totally out of control in inner city areas, never mind the crap politicians want us to believe, many areas are just no go.
Even on middle class estates like the one I live on there's dozens of gangs hanging about on the street corners.
Watch this movie, you certainly wont be disappointed, i've watched it 4 times already! Nothing better than seeing some scumbag Hoodie Chav getting blown away!
Surrogates (2009)
Excellent Movie, I've watched 3 times already!
Excellent Movie that has everything, action, fun, emotion great acting and stars, but most importantly it keeps you entertained! A great Science Fiction Thriller, this really gets you thinking, the very idea is awesome, the near future that looks like heaven, feels like heaven but it's really a living hell, with 98% of the population living a lie.
I've watched it 3 times already ever since I bought it on Blu-ray.
Why bother working on a great body and looks when you can just plug yourself in remotely to a perfect looking replica, or whatever takes your fancy, lol be careful of that lush looking sexy blonde, she might really be a 20 stone dock-hand from the Ukraine!
