Portlandia (2011–2018)

Could be the dumbest show ever.

There is stupid and then there is beyond stupid..Watching this show I wondered (honestly)if this was a comedy. The humor is lame and although there are some very funny parts they are very few and very far between. The characters are perhaps the most annoying I have ever seen. The only way to fix this show is either to cancel it or make it so the two main characters die some kind of horrible death at the end of each episode due to something they did during the show, such as in the episode where they let the guys dog go that was tied to the pole. Perhaps the dog could come back at the end and upon seeing the two main characters, jump up on them to greet them accidentally knocking them back into the street and into the path of an on coming truck. The show may still suck but at least a person could come away feeling good at the end.

UPDATE

Heading into season 2 the show got much better. The first episode was typical of what one saw in season one and I thought well more of the same. The show after that just got better and funnier. The jokes were better, the characters were better. As the show entered season 3 it was not in my opinion as funny but it was entertaining. My initial rating of 1 I have to raise to an overall rating of 7 based on season 2 and 3. I Challenge anyone not making it past season 1 to try season 2 as I am curious if anyone else catches the change.

Just a Terrible Movie

I would have gave this film a 1 but the directing and camera work I though were pretty good. First off let me say this does not star John Lennon as they imply, he plays a small role in this film. This is a gag they use to sell a movie, Call it Murder (Midnight) with Humphrey Bogart comes to mind the only difference between the two is Midnight was a good movie. The movie jumps around a lot and is kind of hard to follow and if there is a message of anti war it's not a very clear one but this is the baby boomer era so you have to consider the source. There are some humorous parts to the film but for the most part it seemed to me that it was a bunch of rambling on by the characters in the movie with some Monty Pythonish humor thrown in. I was going to buy this film for my collection but was glad to see it on Netflix so I did not have to waste any hard earned dough. So if your looking for a lost classic you won't find it here, I would say check out Bogart in Midnight or currently going as Call it murder at least there for 1934 you will see great directing technique and a great film.

Just a bad holiday film

The movie starts with some over the top narration..I think Dryfus could have turned it down a few notches along with his evil looking snowman certainly not Burl Ives. The animation is like watching the WII bowling team...It is terrible. But I think the big crime here is the story line..It moves at the speed of snail and is way to long. This movie could have easily been cut down to 50 minutes.

All that said I was wondering if anyone caught the overtones. the female pig who needs a slot. The Zsa Zsa Gabor sexpot queen and Rudolf telling his girl friend she needs to earn her wings...

In all it's a slow moving, poorly animated movie that is way to long and is just odd to watch. It doesn't work even with the big names associated with the film.

This film Sucked

After watching almost every Hitchcock film I have to agree with old Hitch himself it was his worst. Even some of his older dated movies are so much better than this. I just do not believe this is Hitchcock's area of the world and it shows. If your a die hard Hitchcock fan who has to see everything he directed like myself by all means watch this but if your not don't bother as it is a painful experience. I just cannot think of any redeeming area of this film at all no humor no anything it's just kind of blah.

As far as a spoiler you won't find one here because quite frankly who cares what happens at the end which is highly predictable. I was just glad that it did in fact end..
