Life on Our Planet (2023)
Unrealistic and disappointing
Very disappointing.
There were many inaccuracies in it, for example: when talking about a Plesiosaurus (long necked) they actually show the Mosasarus (short necked). They show a T-rex mom hunting with her young, give me any other examples of reptiles hunting with their offspring to teach them. When showing hunters in all scenes they say "these hunters need to be stealthy" but then proceed to show them roaring and loudly stepping (even the CATS!) as they approach their prey.
Lots of unrealistic anthropomorphization with facial expressions and emotions of the creatures to try and make a good storyline, which it fails to do.
The narration is all over the place from different epochs. The CGI is disappointing to say the least, all creatures move very unnaturally.
It was mildly entertaining to watch, but also because they seem to have borrowed some of the BBC Earth footage.
Real Time with Bill Maher: Ben McKenzie/Rep. Katie Porter/Piers Morgan (2023)
Ben McKenzie's opinion is spreading FUD
Firstly, Ben McKenzie's recent statements about Bitcoin demonstrate a lack of understanding of the fundamental concepts behind this cryptocurrency. McKenzie has suggested that Bitcoin is a "fad" and a "bubble," which are opinions that are not supported by data or evidence.
Moreover, McKenzie's failure to distinguish between Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies is also a significant issue. Bitcoin is a unique cryptocurrency that has a market capitalization larger than any other cryptocurrency, and it has been adopted by some major institutions like Tesla and PayPal. Bitcoin has a limited supply of 21 million coins, and its decentralized nature has made it a secure store of value for many investors. However, other cryptocurrencies like Dogecoin and Shiba Inu do not have the same attributes and may be more susceptible to price volatility.
Furthermore, Bill Maher, a well-known TV host and commentator, should consider inviting Max Keiser to speak about Bitcoin on his show. Keiser is a Bitcoin advocate and a well-respected financial commentator who has been promoting Bitcoin since its inception. Keiser's views on Bitcoin are well-informed, and he has been an influential voice in the Bitcoin community for many years.
Meltdown: Three Mile Island (2022)
Could've done it in 1 episode
This was plain and simple boring, unnecessarily long. Should've focused less on all the useless background stories of each individual and just stick to the facts and explanations.
Just watch Chernobyl.
The Matrix Resurrections (2021)
UTTER GARBAGE
I've been looking forward to this movie for years and years. I loved the 1st one (who didn't), the 2nd one was crap, and the 3rd was ok-ish. But this latest is what they came up with? It's PAINFUL to watch. It' an absolute mess. Disjointed action scenes, empty acting, non-relatable characters, and woke BS wasting another good franchise.
Please don't waste your money on this one.
Jimmy Carr: His Dark Material (2021)
AVOID!
Another piece of Netflix garbage. Just stop paying this dude, he's just recycling old material. Bad jokes, making fun of the audience and feeling superior. Man is he annoying and tasteless. I liked his old stuff, but this is just a lazy money grab. AVOID!
The Witcher (2019)
Season 1: Great! Season 2: BORING and ANNOYING!
Season 1 was great, season 2 is an absolute mess. I liked Gerald as the lone warrior. But season 2 has Ciri on screen way too much, it's an empty and useless character.
Also I could do with less "funny" scenes. Please bring back the raw warrior character of season 1, otherwise this is just another example of a great concept morphed into a moneygrabbing piece of Hollywood trash.
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012)
Entertaining but many small errors
First of all: Kristen Stewart's mouth is slightly opened the ENTIRE movie! Very annoying. And than the casting of Kristen in the first place: she is supposed to be more beautiful (both outside and inside) than Charlize Theron? I mean: come on! I know it's hard to beat Charlize but Kristen is kind of a long shot. Many many small mistakes: - Chris Hemsworth throws down his axe in the forrest right before they meet the dwarfs and the axe literally bounces back a little because it weighs like nothing! - Kristen on her horse charging the castle without a helmet? - An entire army is storming the castle but when the dwarfs go to the gatehouse inside the castle, only a few people are running and the rest is going about their daily business??? - Why do bad guys (queen in this case) always have to tell exactly how they can be defeated? And why do they have to enter a monologue and not kill the good guy right away (or at least try)
I could go on, but I find it shameful that directors with huge budgets can't put in a little extra effort to polish their work. Hope fully no sequel, and if so, please not with Kristen.
Killer Elite (2011)
Jason Statham Ctrl+C/ Ctrl+V
**INSERT ANY RANDOM JASON STATHAM CHARACTER**
This is clearly another COPY of any other movie with Jason Statham: his character is the same (ugly arrogant tough guy), his expression is the same (no emotions), his skills are the same (over the top SAS member on steroids) and the plot is emptier than a hall for a David Hasselhoff concert. Just a horrible movie which was pushed through the digestive system of the Hollywood production line with too much budget (a great pro of piracy is that hopefully Hollywood will stop producing this crap and focus on good stuff instead). You can watch it,sure, but I'd rather check any other Jason Statham movie. I mean: he was awesome in Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels, but after that his face has become so annoying and became a parallel for predictability and emptiness.
The Hangover Part II (2011)
Predictable, superficial humor
Predictable, childish, bad acting, waste of time, predictable (I know I already said that), repeat of part 1...altogether horrible.
OK, it's fair to say I wasn't a big fan of the first Hangover to begin with. It seems the style of this movie series to make the jokes very...very predictable...you can see them coming from a mile away. That having said...yesterday I was unfortunately invited to the cinema with some friends, tickets were already ordered, so no way out.
I wanted to sleep the first 90% of the movie...only the last 15 minutes brought some original jokes and got me to smile a little bit.
I really became annoyed when Alan fell backwards over a table and the audience bursted into laughter...I mean COME ON, the guy just fell! (It wasn't even funny if you have the context in which he fell).
Furthermore it was a repetition of "jokes" we've already seen before. As usual the scenes are acted in such a bad way you can just see its staged, I know its comedy and all, but put in some effort please.
To make sure you guys now what taste I have in comedy and you can judge for yourself if my review is suited for you, I hated Hangover 1 AND 2, but LOVED Sexdrive!
Hope this review will help determine you to decide if you're gonna see it in the cinema...where I silently hope you won't so that none other of these monstrous pieces of work ever see the light of day.
The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day (2009)
Don't watch this
I had high expectations, as I very much enjoyed the first movie. I was also very pleased to see the return of the father and his sons as the original actors...so far so good! Were it not that this new movie is almost an exact copy of the 1st one! The characters are not worked out in more depth, the mobsters are simply replaced with new ones, there's a new annoying sidekick in Rocco's place and the gunfights seem to be amped a bit. The very cool agent Willem Dafoe has been replaced by a female FBI agent who acts a bit too tough for her character and has a southern accent that is again, very annoying and distracts from the actual story.
At 2 hours playtime in total I'd recommend that you'll find something else to with your time...ANYTHING else...clean up your house, sleep go out or take a walk.
