Since it's release, I didn't have the SLIGHTEST interest in watching this show
28 July 2021
...and shame on me judging that interest based off of what I knew about that plot. I classified this show as "just not for me", and I was incredibly, incredibly, wrong. A few weeks ago I was all caught up on the shows I wanted to catch up on, and out of boredom, I so happened to turn this on. I've been absolutely HOOKED ever since. Admittedly I had my doubts during episode 1, but once the ball gets rolling, you're pulled into this world with no way out. Normally with shows it's very easy to point out the weakest season, that's not the case for this one. I truly regret not giving this show a chance during its original run, or for all of the years after it ended. Watch. This. Show. You will thank me.

Disappointed, yet I shouldn't be surprised.

Despite not particularly liking WW (2017), I was actually extremely excited for this movie because of all of the interviews, the synopsis, new characters, etc. I've been anticipating this movie all year, and just knew that it was going to be way better than the first. Unfortunately for me, I was very wrong. This movie is 'meh' or 'okay' at best. A couple of good scenes can't make up for the lackluster 2 and a half hour run time that this movie has. Pedro Pascal gave a fantastic performance, but his talent was severely wasted on a unimpressive script. The plot is right out of a Goosebumps book. CGI was painfully awful for a good chunk of the movie. Also wasn't a fan of the route they took for Barbara to get her powers. Perhaps the only A+ moment of the film (besides Pedro in the third act) was the mid credit scene. Very disappointed considering I've been excited for this movie for a year and a half, but seeing how I was let down by the first one, I shouldn't be surprised. People hailing this as the "best DCEU movie" should not be trusted at all. For anything. If you're going to the theater this Christmas break, save your money and skip this movie.

As someone who read the book,

I was already EXTREMELY disgusted at how they portrayed the love interest, as well as the main character. Both were despicable and were just horrible people. The depiction of lesbians was very insulting. Can't believe they made this trash book into a trash movie. Trust me, don't waste your time. It's an outrage.

Escape Room (I) (2019)

Half Devil (2010) and half The Cabin in the Woods

Warning: Spoilers
The plot of all of the strangers all coming together was taken directly from the movie Devil. In TCITW, the strangers were chosen to die in creative ways in order to be a sacrifice to the gods below earth, in this movie, they were chosen to die in creative ways for rich people to bet on as sport. The plus side to this movie is that the escape room challenges were actually creative and kept me on the edge of my seat. The acting in this movie could have been a lot better. The actress who played Zoey was extremely annoying, high pitched, and breathy. The sequel bait was eye roll worthy, all in all, mediocre but fun. Just very glad that I didn't spend money to see this.
