Thanks
30 April 2023
Dedicated to all those that once crossed an ocean of doubts just to follow their dreams.

The only thing I regret is that it doesn't last longer. The documentary is 52 minutes long. I could've watched an entire season. It's simply mind blowing.

Thanks to Abraham for sharing his dream with us and to everyone who contributed and made his dream possible.

It's available on Prime Video (subtitled in English for those who don't understand Spanish).

I'd never heard of him before and it seems he didn't take on further challenges after this one. I hope that wherever Abraham is, he's in good shape and knows that he's simply inspiring!

Serendipity (2001)

Absurd!!!
26 September 2022
What on earth is going on with people who liked this so called movie. Not only do they not have any idea of what true love really is, but also they got absolutely no taste in film-making. Also, the name is absolutely misleading. There's no serendipity here. The characters and their friends make everything in their power to "meet their destiny". I thought that after watching "Sleepless in Seattle" I wouldn't have to cope with any plot that silly or pointless... I was wrong. Save yourself an hour and half of your life and avoid this trash or rather go outside and watch the trees grow. It'll be a far better use of your time.

Insanity in Seatle
9 May 2022
One of the most absurd movies I've seen.

First of all, the idea that a litle boy knows more about relationships and love than his father is ludricous.

But that's just the begining. The movie is elling young girls the notion that it's ok to leave a very solid and promising relationship to go looking for a fantasy in another state, stalking a man you have never even met.

The reason this movie is revered as a classic by many is beyond me. Save yourself a couple of hours that you wont't get back and watch the trees outside grow instead.

I've just watched this piece of **** after postponing it for 20 years... I should've kept postponing it. It starts ok, but it goes downhill from there. The script makes no sense and the ending is ludicrous. Avoid it at all cost!

Horrible... Just plain horrible!
25 October 2021
I'm only giving this 2 stars because of the photography and camera work, which are the only two things that stand from this so-called "Death Sentence". I watched it with my girlfriend and at several points we found ourselves laughing out loud at all the things that made no sense. The plot has too many gaps and several of the main characters are just ludicrous. You kind of end up wishing everyone gets killed so you can move on with your life.

Brilliant

The movie is simply brilliant in every aspect: acting, dialogue, story-arch, cinematography, music, just everything. Watch it and judge by yourself.

When all logic breaks...
15 August 2021
The movie started just fine but at some point it loses all logic and it's all down hill from there. I wonder if this non-sense ever made it to the theaters. I watched it on Netflix and I feel robbed... I wonder what people who paid tickets to see this felt like. Do yourself a favor and watch a documentary ot something. Even watching a tree grow can be more entertaining than this.

Don't Read This during the Pandemic
7 August 2021
For starters, I must say that this film is fantastic. It's original, well-written, beautifully-shot and the acting is superb. The locations make you wanna get on the next flight to Europe and spend a season there traveling even if it's on foot. My only problem with the movie is its resolution. I'm not saying it's got a bad ending, rather what I'm trying to say is that it starts so good and it keeps on building that you just sort of feel disappointed at the end because you were expecting something else. Other than that, this is a must-see for any fan of good independent movies. A solid 9/10 for me!

Worth the wait!!!
25 November 2019
I was beginning to think I would not live to see a fourth film of this beloved saga. I was wrong. I was never concerned about its quaility, but I certainly did not expect it to be this good! The movie had me laughing constantly and I cried twice at the end. Do not listen to the bad comments. This film is a gem... and a rare one to find these days!

Simple BEST show ever
20 November 2019
The only thing I hate about this show is that it doesn't have ten 24-episode seasons already. I discovered it a couple of days ago and I have gone through most of its 3 seasons already. Why Netflix only makes 10 episodes is beyond me. But I don't care. I'd much rather watch and re-watch the few quality episodes that we have than having to stand another season of Big Bang Theory (thanks Jim Parsons for stopping the producers from keeping on ruining my favorite show) and let us not talk about the twenty something seasons of the Simpsons (though I did stopped watching that at some point before I even got to season 10). I just wann thank everyonw involved in the production of this gem!

Why would you ruin a perfect movie?
30 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
It had everything to be a masterpiece. I knew it was based on a Nicholas Spark novel, so I kind of expected the debacle in the end, but that did not help anyway. I still hated the ending. Man, if they are not to be together, let the man live for crying out loud.

Ian Thorpe: The Human
9 November 2012
Needless to say that this is a must-see for all swimmers and athletes in general. However, I would not want to say that being a swimming fan and knowing something about Ian's life and what he represented for the sport is a prerequisite for totally appreciating this documentary for what it is -a masterpiece- but unfortunately it is. But now matter what your background is, you will probably be able to understand the deep meaning of the documentary and get something out of it. The feeling I had right at the end of the video was exactly the same kind I got after watching Americann Beauty for the first time nearly 10 years ago and it completely changed - AND SAVED- my life.

Simply put... MASTERPIECE
30 October 2011
Well, I would like to start by saying that I am not surprised by the fact that only a fistful of people know about this excellent movie... they are too busy watching Transformers or American Pie XII to care about some serious film-making. I will not ruin the plot of the film for those who have not seen it yet. I shall only say that if you somehow manage to get a copy of this film, you are on for a treat. Of course, you should not expect multi-million dollar visual effects or or even high definition image -considering this is a low budget film made more than 15 years ago. If you care about interesting stories, well acted and -most importantly- very original, then you shall not be disappointed. When you finish watching, tell your friends about it, "like" the movie on Facebook and Twitter, start a chain-mail telling the world about it, etc. This is the kind of film everybody should see at least once in their lifetimes.

Brilliant Concept... Poor Development
8 October 2011
I do not usually review the films I watch; however, watching this movie annoyed me so much that I felt compelled to do so. Imagine a world where lies do not exist, where people merely tell the truth, because they just cannot lie. Well, if your imagination fails you, you just have to watch the first 10 minutes or so of the film. They are simply dazzling and have all the foundations of a true classic. However, what starts by promising to be one of the greatest comedies of all times, very soon falls into becoming an annoying attempt of a joke that ends up leading nowhere. By the time you get to the end of the movie, you are no longer paying attention to what the characters are mumbling but wondering how much better the story could have been if only they have developed the script further. This movie is worse than average because it is just hard to see a remarkable idea so poorly executed when we live in an age where filmmakers and writers seem to be condemned to retell the same old stories and viewers are condemned to watch them. However, every now and then we come across little gems that make up for all the trash that us movie-lovers have to endure. This could have been one of those jewels. It was not.

Am I the only one who thinks this movie is boring?
27 June 2011
I have been reading some of the reviews of the IMDb "critics"... for God's sake! Did these people even bother to watch the movie? Also I am very shocked to see this movie has got an over 8 rating. This is a very boring title. The only good thing about the film is the score -well, it had to be given that it was mostly written by a W.A. Mozart...

Other than that, this movie is a simple waste of time. The acting is awful and the guy who portrays the legendary music genius should be in a circus. F. Murray does a nice job acting but he is the only one. Too bad the man who wrote the script did not know what he was doing.

I wonder if people who "admire" this movie do so because of the movie itself or because of the real Mozart and his heavenly music.

Go rent Kung Fu Panda and enjoy a truly good movie.

2nd Most Overrated Movie of All Times
9 May 2011
Oh boy! After realizing that my favorite movie of all times was ranked number 1 in the IMDb list I thought it might be a good idea to watch all of the movies in the best 250 ranking... I'm starting to have second thoughts...

Ten years ago when I watched the Godfather for the first time I had no knowledge of English and I was almost a kid. My first impression of the movie was that it was plain boring. I have just watched "The Godfather" again ten years later. I am about to be twenty-seven years-old and I am a professor of English as a second language in two universities of my country so I can no longer think that my impression of the movie is biased by my young age or my lack of understanding of English -oh, I also speak Italian by the way.

After such a disappointment I didn't set up my hopes too high for its second installment... well, at least I can say I am not disappointed now because this is indeed a bad movie just like I expected. This movie is simply way too overrated. I am not saying this is a bad movie but it does NOT deserve his current position as 3rd greatest movie of all times.

I would really like to understand what it is that people see in movies like these. The plot is silly and confusing. Yes, the acting is more than decent but if there is no story to it there is little the actors can do to keep you intrigued.

Finally, if you have not watched this movie yet and feel tempted to do so, I recommend you get some decent movies like Kung Fu Panda or Inception and have some fun or go ahead and watch it and waste two hours of your life.

Regards, MANIUIS.

Great Closure to the Greatest Series of All Times
28 September 2010
I am one of the biggest fan of this series -even though it got canceled before I could even spell ALF. Together with 3rd Rock From The Sun and Catherine (Canadian Sitcom) this is one of the great series of all times. Thanks to the releases of the DVDs I was able to watch the entire series again -this time in its original language... I am a Spanish native-speaker by the way- and was kinda of disappointed to find that the series ended in such a low note with ALF getting captured and all. Then I learned that they had made an ALF movie 6 years after the show went off the air. I immediately got to the task of downloading the movie -which was not easy- and today I finally watched it.

The movie is great. It would have been perfect if The Tanners -or at least Willie- have been on it, but despite the absence of the original cast -though the voice of ALF is the same- the movie is great. It will make you laugh. I have read the reviews and other comments that people on this website have made about the film and I am not surprised to hear some people b***ing and moaning about the film and saying how great the show was and how bad the movie is... blah blah blah. DO NOT listen to those people. DO NOT expect to come across a 1 1/2 hour episode-like film either because you will be disappointed then.

Other than that you can just lay down on your couch, get some popcorn and some refreshing drink, enjoy the movie and find out what ever happened to that funny, adorable-and-at-the-same-time-annoying alien from the planet Melmac who sadly got captured by the US government back in 1990. Best wishes to everyone. Cheers.

What exactly is this?
22 August 2010
If anyone could tell me what exactly one is supposed to think of this so-called film and actually convince me I should be thankful because, if that were the case, I would not feel I wasted one and a half hour of my life. The film is just plain stupid from beginning to end, I might add. If you value your time, please, do NOT see this film. Instead go and rent Blair Witch Project –even that joke of a movie makes more sense that this film. Or if your do not feel like watching a movie, you can always go walk your dog, have sex, exercise, take a nap, watch through the window of your apartment and count how many cars pass by in a minute and see if more or less cars will pass a minute later… I do not really know what else you might do but whatever it is it shall be a lot better than watching Lady in the Water.

Brilliant!!!
21 August 2010
Two thumbs-up -I would gladly give it three if I had them... ha ha. The movie keeps you on the edge of your chair for more than two hours -which is more than enough already- and the acting is simply marvelous. Nataly Portman delivers one more time and Hugo... we do not get to see his face for even a second during the entire length of the film yet his performance carries out every little emotion his character has. The photography shows us a futuristic London not very hard to imagine while the music of the film suits perfectly every scene.

For those who love suspense this is a must-see. The only thing I regret is that I had to watch it at home. I would have loved to see this on the big screen.

3rd Rock from the Sun (1996–2001)
10/10
Best Sitcom Ever!!!
8 August 2010
For me it all started back in 1997 when I became a fan of 3rd Rock From The Sun when the show aired -dubbed in Spanish- in a Peruvian TV channel broadcast in all Latin-America. Unfortunately the series was not a success and they only showed a bunch of episodes from the first season but it was more than enough to captivate me. I mean, who could possibly resist the funny Dr. Dick Solomon or the hilarious Harry Solomon -by the way, the dubbing of the series was just great and both characters were as funny in Spanish as they are in English...

Thanks to the internet -and the fact that I learned English well enough to understand it without subtitles, because there are no subtitles available for this sitcom on the whole internet- I was able to get the whole 6 seasons and I just finished watching the 6th season finale, including the alternate ending -which I preferred- and some behind the scenes shooting.

I wish the showed had gone on for so many more seasons. There was so much to explore, but anyway, I just have words of gratitude to all the people who made this amazing show possible. I owe them many hours of entertainment and hundreds of good laughs.
