one of our family favorites
20 April 2010
I recorded this movie off of TV when my children were little (some of them had not even been born yet!) I still have the VHS tape and plan on transferring it to DVD when i have the time. I would love for any future grandchildren I might have to see this delightful movie.

Another movie/show I remember from when I was a child was called "for the Love of Fred". Fred was a caterpillar that changed into a butterfly at the end of the show. I have not been able to find any listings, information, etc...about this movie. I was probably about 10-12 when I saw it, so that would have been a LONG time ago--over 40 years ago! If you have any info on it I would appreciate you sending me a message,

Thanks!

Cinderella (I) (1965 TV Movie)

This is one of my favorite musicals to this day!

Several years ago I had a woman working for me who loved this movie as much as I did. We talked of all the times we used to watch it growing up in the 60's as it was on TV every year around Thanksgiving or Christmas, and how we looked forward to it every year. I had recorded it off of TV several years before she was hired and before I even owned my own business (a daycare) when my own children were small. One day I brought the movie in and unbeknownst to her I put it in the VHS player while she was heating up the children's lunches. When she heard Lesley Ann Warren singing "In my own little corner" she turned around with tears in her eyes singing along to the song she remembered from long ago. As a Christmas gift to her that year I ordered a copy of this movie from Moviesunlimited.com I placed it in the bottom of the bag and added more things on top. As she was going through the bag, carefully pulling out and admiring each hand-picked gift, she shrieked with delight when she reached the bottom of the bag. "I can't believe you bought me Cinderella". It is a day that is forever etched in my mind as I was so glad that I had gotten it for her to share with her children and grandchildren. The last time I checked, the movie was no longer available on the Movies unlimited website, but hopefully it will be again some day. I should say that all the little girls at the daycare loved seeing this movie that day as well as they had never seen this version. I have since acquired a DVD recorder and this movie was one of the first ones I transferred to DVD from our old VHS. I also have the 1957 Julie Andrews version transferred to DVD, as well as the animated classic : ) but the Lesley Ann Warren version is the one I have the fondest memories of.

Snow White Live (1980 TV Movie)

Radio City Hall presents a live production of Snow White
20 April 2010
I too prefer live theater, especially musicals, over recorded movies. I recorded this play off the TV YEARS ago when my children were small. I have been transferring old tapes to DVD ever since I got a DVD recorder 3 years ago for Christmas, in my spare time. I love reminiscing over the old TV shows and movies I had forgotten about from days gone by.

I wish Disney had produced more shows like this for television, as it is a dying art. I am glad I have been able to preserve this rare production for future generations in our family to enjoy.

As the other reviewers have stated, if you can get your hands on a copy of this production, don't hesitate to watch it again & again!

The Boy Who Loved Trolls (1984 TV Movie)

Wonderful movie for nostalgic adults and children
18 April 2010
I have this movie on a VHS tape that I recorded YEARS ago when my children were small. My 26 year old son just recently asked me if I still had it and could make him a copy on DVD, which I did. Funny how the shows watched as children are still in his mind. He has just started collecting movies and shows from his childhood. Being nostalgic myself I still have them all on tape. My daughter, age 20, has also recently asked for the movie "The Little Ghost" which she remembered fondly as a child, but thinks is silly now. I'm glad to see they are still enjoying these classic children's movies instead of some of the garbage shown nowadays.
