Love Hard (2021)

Pretty sweet, actually
6 November 2021
A sweet love story that exceeded my expectations compared to a dozen plus other Christmas rom-coms. It charms with it's cheasy and witty lines, and a relevant message hidden within the plot. This could become a classic in my home Christmas collection.

Better than expected
3 October 2021
Not much of a Kutcher fan here, so obviously my expectations for this movie were quite low to begin with. I have to admit I was a little surprised to find that I actually enjoyed the plot and that it's apparently more than just nudity, once you get underneath that layer. Ironically one of those movies that make you rethink parts of your own life, and what really matters. I am a sucker for happy, sappy endings, but in its own way I think this ended perfectly.

Best Picture of All-Time
2 October 2021
This movie captures the essence of Hollywood; the old "American dream"-vibe crossed with classic old dance movies. It's colorful, picturesque and the overall cinematography is spectacular with some knock-out sequences rarely seen in today's films. The casting for the main characters is nothing but perfect - Gosling and Stone's chemistry is gripping, trustworthy and as strong as it has ever been - they're like a match made in heaven for the screen. The epilogue sequence is a genius touch to the plot - I love how it makes people wonder and add question marks. On top of that, everything mentioned above gets wrapped up in this amazing, jazzy musical score and soundtrack. I have nothing to put my finger on - the only wish I have about this movie is that I wish I had watched it in the cinema when it came out, because it deserves to be seen on a big screen. There's nothing not to love about this movie. This will be one of those I will watch over and over and never get tired of.

A charming cocktail of everything sweet and spicy
2 October 2021
A young Tom Cruise and Elizabeth Shue in a charming love story with plenty of sexy cocktail shaking scenes - what's not to like? From the bottom of an ex-bartender's heart and a true hopeless romantic, this is one of my all-time favorites when it comes to classic movies. Add to that a superb soundtrack and you've got yourself a party!

Highly Overrated
2 October 2021
An absolutely overrated movie with many plotholes. I recon the high rating comes from nostalgic fans who watched it back in the 80's when it came out. I could manage myself to give it a 6.0, but only because I was still entertained. It's not all bad, but not very good either. A mediocre but yet entertaining comedy.

P.S. guess what...

Warning: Spoilers
Warning: This movie will make you believe in true love, if you're not dead inside. This movie is amongst my favorites when it comes to romantic comedies. True the plot of the movie may instantly make you wonder whether it can in fact be called a comedy, but if you're not currently going through a devastating breakup or dealing with the same things Holly is, you will see that it has loads of small, witty moments that will make you giggle lightly and light up your eyes. It's one of those movies that will fill you with warmth and love for all your beloved ones and give you hope to start on a new adventure. Probably a very girly movie, but that doesn't make it bad. It's a real guilty pleasure treat for the ones with a huge open heart. There's nothing bad I can say about this movie, be it plot, characters or actors. A wonderful feel good film, despite a tragic story. The message comes trough clear that we all have to move on and eventually can.

Too long and miserable
27 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I SO wanted to enjoy this movie, but sadly felt more and more bored as it rolled along. The movie surely has its moments and what a great potential it could have gotten as well, but the length kills it. This is not one of those musicals that leaves you either hopeful, full of high spirit or love and will sadly not be one of those I'll watch over and over again. I see why it received its many Oscar nominations and the wins were justified. It was just really, really long and depressing at the same time....

A beautiful story with a perfect ending. A treat for both the heart and mind. Will have me thinking for a long time afterwards and appreciate the little things in life more.

Quite disturbing
26 September 2021
Alright film with a good but quite disturbing plot and scenes - some of which will probably haunt me for years. A typical guy film that is not for everyone. The best part of the movie was the last 5 minutes.

Surprisingly satisfying
25 September 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This was a really satisfying film to watch, and totally took me by surprise as I didn't get bored as I had thought I would. I have postponed watching this movie simply because of watching that Friends episode where Joey and Rachel partly spoils the plot, and thought I had it all figured out. I hadn't. There is a much deeper plot to this story, a heartwarming, yet heartbreaking but also uplifting storyline. I was only a little disappointed in the ending, but only because of personal preferances of whom should have ended up with whom, but I also kind of like when everything isn't just set in stone from the beginning. Worthy of being watched again and possibly in the near future.

Perfect ending for season 8
3 May 2021
Personally, season 8 was the most boring season for me. I've loved all of the seasons up until that point, where the story sadly just got a bit too slow and unthrilling for me. The action and thrills came, however, with three episodes to go, but the final episode was so surprisingly good, that it made it all worth it in the end afterall. If it turns out to be the end of the entire series, I am perfectly happy with how it all ends as it was superb in every way. Should there be another season taking place right after this one, I wouldn't be against that either. As long as they keep the action and thrilling parts up through the entire season, and not just by the end. This show stands to be among my top favorite shows worthy of recommendation. Thanks FOX for this great show and a masterpiece ending to wrap it up - if that will be the case.
