The Good Doctor: Goodbye (2024)
A Great Series Finale
This series finale was fantastic.
Some shows have great actors and okay writers, even more shows have okay actors and fantastic writers. The Good Doctor had both exceptional writers and actors.
The final episode was touching without being sappy. For me it wrapped up the story which My wife and I enjoyed for 7 years. While it did make me wish the show continued I am satisfied of a good ending.
I often follow actors and watch a show because this particular actor is in it. I watched The Good Doctor because I watched Freddie Hightower in Bates Motel. I need to start looking at where the writers of my favorite shows go next or where they have been before, like I follow the actors.
Thank you writers and thank you actors.
Frasier (2023)
Show deserves more Seasons
The season took a few shows to get it's feet. It takes time to introduce all new characters, and establish new sets. Now, as the season just finished I wish there were more than 20 shows per season like the old show.
The new characters became established by season's end. I imagine this was hard, with a well established lead like Frazier. But, Freddy, Eve, David, Alan & Olivia are likable. The shows with Lilith & and Roz were great. I hope we see other Cheers or Fraiser Seattle characters.
Now, if you never saw Cheers or Frasier 1 the inside jokes would be missed. But as fan of those two shows those jokes makes the viewer feel like an insider and draws you in.
While I'm sure many thought Fraiser Seattle could not stand up to Cheers but it did. And like the original Fraiser, which had mostly little well know new main characters, like Niles, Martin, Daphne, Roz, and minor characters Bulldog, Kenny and Gil and you can't forget Eddie. But now those characters and actors are now well known. Also, Lilith's and other Cheers stars made occasional guest spots made the original Fraiser "Must Watch TV" and special.
Hopefully, for future seasons(and I Hope for more Seasons) other Cheers and Frasier 1 universe characters return for guest spots. Since they are in Boston, it would not be a surprise to see Norm walk
into Mahoney's Taproom. Or Cliff showing up for a trivia night or Sam trying to make a few extra dollars as a fill in bartender.
Even Cameo appearances, where Frasier keeps missing his old bar mates could be funny. Maybe it could even be a running gag, similar never seeing Norm's wife Vera or Niles' spouse Maris, this show has yet to come up with a recurring gag yet.
I hope the show is renewed, it found its feet by the end and has great potential.
Lessons in Chemistry: Book of Calvin (2023)
Best Episode Yet.
When a show is as well acted, directed and edited as Lessons in Chemistry is it is easy to forget the writing.
This episode is one of the best written shows I've see in years, maybe ever. This episode deserves an Emmy for best writing.
This episode begins to slowly tie the whole story together in a clever well-thought out manner. It is not sappy like a Hallmark Christmas show, but believable.
I love this show but this episode was fantastic. I love good writing but the writers of this chapter restored my belief that good stories are out there. The writers here did not have to use tricks or false emotions to get the point across.
Thanks
Gene.
The Brave (2017)
Great show Just Binged it.
Great stories great characters. Similar to The Unit
I hope it gets picked up for another season.
