Exploding Sun (2013)
Oh god..Ya just wanna let them BURN!!!
Wow..its amazing how bad this is.. I mean, you don't get emotionally engaged with any of these Characters..most of them are unlikeable.. You've got 2 protagonist who continually want to 1 up each other. (Bad acting aplenty, of course) Then you have random scenes of people all over the world...none of whom you end up rooting for..a guy and a family hang out in an apartment, the kid gets distracted by ice cream while the world is about to end..a lot of scenes are like that, they make you wanna look and say, "look how suave i am despite the world is about to end in 2 days"..its all out of place, not to mention how silly most of the science is...Watching this i kept thinking and wishing "solar flare baby and toast these people."
its cringing..its not even "its so bad its good"..its just plain bad... (shame on you Star movies for showing this)
Brief Interviews with Hideous Men (2009)
Interesting, Incoherent, Infuriating...
I could give it a much lower score had it not been for some great performances and dialogue by the African Americans in the movie: subject 42(Frankie Faison) and his father(Malcolm Goodwin) and the funny interview of subject that talks about the types of "fella". But as a whole, this movie was just all over the place...it was very much a chore to make things fit and make sense and the last monologue by John Krasinski didn't make sense, i mean, if he was the one who cheated, why would he be the one that's mad and overflowing with anger in the scene? although the story he was telling was very interesting... and the lead character lacks so much character that its very difficult to empathize with her..and the editing...oh my, it didn't help to make this story less convoluted didn't it? So, i did like the film, i thought there were very powerful scenes in it, around 5 to 6 scenes that were very redeeming..but for the most part, the film was boring or would easily get you to lose taste in it because of the editing (timeline? what timeline?--No, not Memento-jumbled-time-interesting type of interesting, just plain jumbled mess). Would i recommend it? yes, if only for the few scenes that i really liked...
Rogues Gallery (2010)
Squandered talents....avoid at all cost
Unbelievable how this fails in so many levels...First, it doesn't know what it wants to be, it wants to be funny and witty, action packed mystery "whodunit" film all at the same time and it comes out as neither of those...Then, the plot is just plain confusing, not because its smart, but because its just plain idiotic. Also, the fight sequences were pathetic, does not really convince the audience that there people were supposed to be top government spooks....and those 'big reveals' where the film would want you to think that you didn't see it coming...i bet you could spot those a mile away, yeah, its that obvious....
Really disappointed with this film, pathetic script, poor direction ruined this film, oh Rob Corddry, Adam Scott, Joe Anderson, Maggie Q, Odette Yustman, Ving Rhames....what are you doing in this crap of a movie? Funny when i saw Tower and said to myself, that guy from Tropic Thunder and Percy Jackson would probably make this character suck less if he were to play this........boy was i wrong......hahaha same guy....unbelievable...thats how bad the script is...infects everyone with mediocrity...
