Kilgrave always improves everything.....
29 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Any episode with a dash of The Purple Man makes it a notch above the rest in my opinion. And as dysfunctional as their relationship is, I ship Jess and Kikgrave SO HARD it's not even remotely funny. I mean, HOT DAMN, they are sexy together. Rawr!

Oh, Horatio...
14 March 2019
For the longest time, I thought I didn't like David Caruso, so I never watched CSI:Miami. Recently, however, I decided to binge rewatch all of the CSIs. I started with NY, then Las Vegas, starting halfway through season 9, when Langston (Lawrence Fishburn) joined the team. After that, I followed DB onto CSI:Cyber, and then decided I would FINALLY give Miami a shot. Now, I can't believe what I've been missing all these years. Horatio Caine's character is outstanding. All of the leads on each show have their own quirks that make them unique; almost all of them have walls that make them hard to read, or seemingly objective and unemotional (with the exception of Langston), but Caine has two sides: EXTREMELY empathetic...especially involving children...and absolutely ice cold, hardcore badass. His character, and the intertwining storyline between all of the main characters, pulled me in more than any of the other shows, and I was surprised by how passionate he was. Caruso not only won me over, but became my favorite. When I finished, I restarted CSI:Las Vegas so I could watch the first 9 seasons with Grissom, and then I stumbled on this backdoor pilot that I had completely forgotten about....and I immediately wanted to start watching Miami again....haha. I guess it affected me even more than I realized.

Fun....but....
21 February 2019
I enjoyed this episode greatly, as a pagan...but it truly bothers me that the show paints Wiccans in such a ridiculous light. The storyline is so stereotypical in making witches seem like the type to do ridiculous dark Magick, when in reality, their creed is to do harm to no one. I usually wouldn't even post a review, but this is one of those things that irks me.

Descent into madness...
8 December 2018
This was an excellent slow burner of a man's decent into madness, with an excellent twist at the end. I loved it just as much as the other two movies so far. This series is fantastic.

Bowfinger (1999)

Happy Premise #4 ~ This movie will ETERNALLY rock my face with AWESOMENESS!!!
14 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I am so incredibly thankful for this underrated gem of a film. No matter how many times I've watched it over the years, it never fails to make me laugh out loud, all by myself, in a quiet room. 😂 Steve Martin, as writer and as the actor portraying Robert K. Bowfinger, is an absolute comedic genius! I can't believe he actually came up with the idea for the film 13 years before they actually made it! And he sat on it for ten years before he even started the screenplay!! And I am SO GRATEFUL that he did finally bring it to fruition, because it's definitely in my top 10 favorite comedies. And I swear, Eddie Murphy playing the two completely polar opposite twin brothers Kit (a narcissistic, schizophrenic, conspiracy theorist who is constantly trying to K. I. T. - Keep It Together - (then repeated again very quickly, "Keep It Together, Keep It Together, Keep It Together."),- under the tutelage of Terrence Stamp, the leader of MindFu...I mean MindHead....totally a straight up cult); and his brother, Jiff, who is a shy, squinty, giggly, humble nerd that is by far one of my favorite roles he has EVER played. He's so convincing that you almost forget that it's even Eddie. The whole ensemble works so incredibly well together as a cohesive troupe of simply ridiculous and melodramatic actors, that the movie runs like a well oiled machine. And the premise of the totally absurd Sci-Fi B-Movie they're making, Chubby Rain, is an instant freaking classic. I would love to be able to see the actual finished product. Haha. Seriously though, if you have an appreciation for great comedy, and a love of cult classics, then you will LOVE this movie. ESPECIALLY if you love the classic comic stylings of the Hollywood Writer/Actor & the Director power couple: Steve Martin & Frank Oz. This was the 4th movie they worked on together following: Little Shop of Horrors w/ EVERYONE, because it's the best dark comedic sci/fi musical EVER; Dirty Rotten Scoundrels w/ Michael Caine; and HouseSitter w/ Goldie Hawn. So anyway, if those types of hilarious flicks aren't your favorite thing, or you're not a fan of a good belly laugh...then this movie will probably seem absurd and stupid to you...and I feel sorry for you...that you can't experience the immense joy I receive EVERY time I watch it. Damn, I LOVE this film. 🖤😍🤣🖤

Facing Off: Brilliance beyond measure...
14 October 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Even almost 12 years later, this is still one of the best episodes from the early years...or perhaps the entire series as far as Keith Carradine's calmly cold and vastly prolific serial killer Frank is concerned. He is seriously such an underrated actor. His role in this and his role as Agent Lundy (the serial killer profiler) in Dexter could be considered two of the best performances of his career as far as I'm concerned. I think he works particularly well in this case, because he is facing off against the equally calm and calculated brilliance of Jason Gideon (Mandy Patinkin). The moments of just pure dialogue between the two of them in the diner, along with the excellent close up shots in the cinematography, work together to craft a masterpiece of storytelling worthy of highly esteemed recognition. It's a damn shame that neither one of them were nominated for an Emmy for these roles. Or the writers. A shame. I know a lot of people feel like the end of this episode is a letdown...but I knew from the first moment I watched it that it happened this way only so Gideon and Frank would have to face off again at a later date...in an even MORE grand and final battle....and they most certainly do not let us down....in the finale of season 2: Now Way Out, Part II: The Evilution of Frank. 🖤🖤 (And a little FYI tidbit just for fun...Frank was a serial killer for 30 years, and Lundy tracked serial killers for 30 years. That's just good stuff right there. 😉)
