Thirteen (2003)
Waaaaah! I'm a teen! I have issues!
The only people I have seen who like this movie were in their teens when they saw it. The ONLY reason why I had to suffer through this crap fest is because it was required for my film class. Had I not otherwise loved the film class, I would've just dropped it to spare me from this. The movie is an after-school special at best, and a shame to all mankind at worst. It was co-written by a 13 year-old, and it REALLY shows. She apparently reached in the big bag o' clichés and used them ALL in this movie, because teenagers think that belly rings and huffing aerosol cans is "extreme". OOOOOOOHHH look at me! I'm a teen! WAAAAAAAAHHH! I have problems too! I cut myself, see?! No one loves me!! They took Suburbanville, LA and tried to make it look like Skid Row. I've seen Ed Wood films, Manos, and many crappy kid movies, but this is by far the WORST movie I have ever seen...ever. The people who made this movie should just kill themselves. Just...die!
Edison Kinetoscopic Record of a Sneeze (1894)
Great Drinking Movie!!!
Dude! You've got to see this movie. It's funny when it needs to be, but serious. It's a gut-buster, yet a tear jerker. Best movie of the summer! The acting is fantastic, and the chemistry between the characters is mesmerizing. It was like I was in the movie. Intelligent script, great writing by the writers. This movie is a must-see!! I'm gonna get this on DVD as soon as it comes out. I am awestruck at the spectacle of this great future American classic. It's just fun. I'm glad I spent the money on this movie, heck I think I would've paid triple what I paid just to see this gem. A must-see in my book, so go see this if you want all the ingredients for a great drinking movie.
Batman Begins (2005)
Frank Miller couldn't have done better
This movie is by far...THE best Batman film ever created. Going in the theater, I assumed this film would be another Batman and Robin, boy was I wrong. This film is up to par with the Frank Miller comic books of the Dark Knight. I personally enjoyed Momento and Insomnia, and the fact that Christopher Nolan was in the director's chair, that was one reason that brought me to see Batman Begins. This is a great new step in the Batman franchise, and I can't wait to see another. I will not spoil anything, but there are many surprises at the end that will sucker punch you when the time comes. There were some moments that didn't seem fluid, but the film is definitely Oscar caliber. That is why I give Batman Begins... a 9.5 out of 10
Sin City (2005)
Walk down an alley of Sin City, and you can find anything...especially a good movie.
I loooooved this movie. Frank Miller's genius is apparent in every single frame of this epic film. The amount of style in this movie is comparable to Kill Bill and the Matrix. It sucks...you into the story with it's unforgettable characters, fantastic dialog, and even better acting. Robert Rodriguez has repented from any bad movies he might've done in the past (>COUGH!< Spy Kids 3-D!) by making this gorgeous film. Everybody should see this movie! Did I mention the gorgeous visuals? It looks just like the graphic novels. The selective coloring reminds me of "Schindler's List". The blood, when black and white, is white, exactly as Frank Miller did in the comic books. The actors look just like their comic book counterparts. So, see this movie. It's just that good. Thank you, Robert Rodriguez. Though you can no longer make movies in the US, at least you went out with a bang, instead of a whisper.
10/10 and V Nilla's Highest Recommendation
