Unique doesn't mean good
14 December 2022
Might be a semi-decent podcast, but it's a terrible movie.

It's made out of a series of extreme close ups, most of which don't really have anything to do with what's being said. It's just headache inducing.

Then there's no story and the narration itself is comprised by things you've already seen or heard around the internet.

The concept and visuals are ok, but I would love to see an actual movie of it instead of just the ramblings of a weirdo. It could be kinda Lovecraftian if it wasn't so pretentious.

The fact that 'you haven't seen anything like it doesn't make it good.

The main fault of this thing is that it got old and boring really fast.

The 4 out of 10 I'm giving it is for what could have been.

Astoundingly ridiculous

This movie is a series of bad choices. First of all the whole thing feels like too big of part of it was improvised.

I would blame the actors but there is absolutely no chance ALL of them are bad, you have to blame the director at some point. Can't believe Ridley Scott made this, did he call in sick every day of shooting?

Even setting aside the accents, the acting was terrible. Was there noone on the set to just tell them 'no'? And what the hell was that thing with Jared Leto, did they just let him wander in the set?

The whole thing was ridiculous, incomprehensible and felt like a bad joke.

I can't believe I managed to sit through TWO AND A HALF hours of it, I really must be dead inside.

The Old Man (2022– )

Boring and unmemorable
7 October 2022
Sick and tired of these types of shows with a good pilot and a below mediocre rest of the show.

Started promising, really thought I'd like it but by the end of it I was feeling I wasted my time.

First of all the whole show is too much talking. And apparently the writers haven't heard of the saying 'show don't tell' cause they kept telling us about stuff they never showed.

A prime example of that is the fact that they kept talking about how badass and dangerous Bridges' character was, which we never saw. I get that Bridges is old and having him do a lot of fight scenes would be tricky, but they didn't even take advantage of showing how dangerous he is when his past/young self was on screen.

Everything else was like that. Even the story. Might as well be a podcast.

The other offence of the show was that it was purposely keeping stuff from the audience. 'What you did back then', 'The thing that happened then' and purposely leaving the audience ignorant. That's just bad writing.

But the worst of all is that the season doesn't end, it just stops. Like that is gonna make us watch a second season?

I have to say that the cimetography and acting were both great. They're what kept me watching so it's a shame they couldn't stick the landing. Don't know if the writers are bad or it was somehow the network's fault but bad writing can ruin an otherwise promising project.

Would normally give it a 5/10 but I felt I had to offset the good reviews somehow.

I hope we get more

It's not like it's the best thing out there, but it does show the love and passion put into it.

In my opinion it's more interesting than most of the other marvel shows, at least it's got more character. While most of the marvel shows just wanted to jump on the MCU hypetrain with no real substance in them, I can see that the creators really had fun with this one.

I believe this show needs a little more time to really shine.

Even if you put aside how biased these series is, it's very rushed an sloppy. Seems like the research was done at Wikipedia AT BEST. It's a series that would be fine if done by a youtuber and not backed by a multimillion company like Netflix. Cheap, boring, useless.

I Kill Giants (2017)

Not what's advertised
20 August 2018
This movie is very falsely advertised and I keep thinking it was on purpose. I went in expecting to see a fantasy film and instead I got a teen drama. You can see any giant there is to see in the trailer. Seriously, EVERY scene with a giant was put in the trailer. Very lame. The acting is decent, the writing is good and it was pretty well shot. If it was advertised as a drama I would think it was really good and creative, but now I feel cheated.
