Dances with Wolves (1990)

Hard to believe

It's hard for me to believe this movie is not in the top 250 on IMBD all time list. Without question my favorite movie. We live in a strange world when Pulp Fiction ranks #18, and Dances with Wolves just misses the top 250. Maybe people thought the movie was too long. I thought it was too short if anything. I wish they would have gone on forever. What an incredible story. The way Costner continued to get closer and closer to the Indians way masterfuly done.

It's a Wonderful Life (1946)

Close to the best

This is easily in my favorite top 10 list. I liked Rear Window but I didn't think Jimmy Stewart was very good. However, in Wonderful Life, he was purely magical. No one else could have done better. The 1990's- have produced so many pathetic movies. I get sick of them. The director of It's a Wonderful Life must have amazing ability because no one since the 90's has come close with the exception of Dances with Wolves and Braveheart. I don't know if there is a movie out there that can re-direct my attitude for a long period of time, but this one is the closest. This movie is the ultimate example of "good depression."

This movie was very slow and will never be confused with an action thriller. The slow pace of the movie is perfect! Include the amazing acting (Actors today don't compare) and the setting. I would have to say, along with Dances With Wolves, no movie makes you feel you are back in the West like this movie. There is very little music in this movie and is limited to a piano, but they did it perfectly. The movie also gave me a fair amount of depressed feelings to set the time in history. I gave it a 9 out of 10 and I give very few movies a 10.

Men at Work (1990)

Very funny

This movie is a 9 out of 10. I watch it every time its on. The only reason it is a 9 out of 10 is the interaction between the characters. Sheen, Estevez, their black trash partner, the rent a cops, and sheens new girl friend are all so funny together. The story is basic and anyone could write it, but the feeling the characters give you during this movie is special. You have to be impressed with anyone who could make a movie this simple to be so good!
