Wish Upon (2017)

In the vein of Drag me to Hell

I don't know why this has such low ratings on IMDb, I gave it an 8. I'm a real horror buff and have seen most so I don't rate movies lightly.

Similar in concept to Drag me to Hell, I was riveted to the screen for the whole movie. Great story, great acting, and extremely entertaining. Not too much gore but many thrills to be found in this excellent tale. Do not miss!

Animal (I) (2014)

Better than average monster movie

After having just watched the movie I was astounded when i saw the low score on IMDb. This movie is not your average "scary monster hunts and eats people". Don't miss this one!

The characters although not really in-depth are likable/obnoxious (where applicable), and play their individual parts really well. The monster itself is awesome, scary, and very believable. The special effects are slightly above par and very convincing.

The story flows nicely, keeps up the pace, and has a tense atmosphere. If you are looking for a fun-filled, gory monster movie this is the one for you! The story packs a punch and kept me enthralled the whole way through.

Having seen my fair share of monster movies i am giving this 8/10!

The Reef (2010)

Solid acting and tense

Alright, so this is never going to win any Oscars, yet it was very entertaining.

The character development was good, I actually cared for each person, which for me is a great indicator. If you can pull that off, it's got a bit of quality right there. Nothing felt fake or over/under done. The shark shots were real, no fake plastic models to be found! The movie was often pretty tense, i found myself literally on the edge of my couch. It was nice to hear the Aussie accents and it didn't feel "americanised" in any way. A great little movie with dedicated actors and a solid, scary story! Well done.
