Alita: Battle Angel (2019)
Wow! Wonderful!
Alita is not a movie, it's a dream made real. Cyborgs + Motorball + Flying city ? In a Sci-Fi universe, with a Big Brother/ bodysnatching villain ?
The manga is a masterpiece, and the movie, well, is more than that. It's a masterpiece on screen. Even better.
Killjoys: Cherchez la Bitch (2019)
Hello, there's fun everywhere!
Killjoys is fun. That' not a profund and scientifically accured sci-fi show, but who cares, we have The Expanse for that! But Killjoys, oh, Killjoys, is just fun.A lot of lovables charachters, a lot of action, punchlines, everything. Showrunners are not trying to do something serious, and it's a good thing!
And this episode, what can I say about it? That it was fun? That it makes the travel from home to work a real pleasure? Well... Sounds repetitive!
Game of Thrones: The Iron Throne (2019)
A good end for a good story
Well, let's say season 8 wasn't the best of all, but the end? Well... It was a good end, peaceful, with a redemption for everyone.
North is free, as it should be, with Sansa as a queen: good and satisfying conclusion.
Arya is free, as she should be, to explore the unknown , as the incredibly courageous girl she is: good conclusion.
Jon is free, as a free man, on the other side of the world. Bittersweet, but the guy wouldn't be happy as a King. He's free, with Ghost and Tormund, surrounded by men and women like him.
Tyrion is not free, as an Hand, but is surrounded by friends. He will be happy.
Dany 's dead, but the wheel is broken. Bittersweet, too, but Destiny accomplished.
Good ending for Sam, Ser Davos, Bronn, ...
We let people we loved in a better world, thanks to, ironically, to Dany. No more Iron Throne, a world ruled by a "elected" leader.
Good ending for a good story. Wasn't a big fan of everything in the last two seasons, but this episode? Yeah, I'm fully satisfied.
American Gods: A Prayer for Mad Sweeney (2017)
Didn't add anything to the main plot, but...
... I don't care. I already know the main plot, Neil Gaiman wrote it a long time ago.
This episode tells me an other story. The story of a human interaction, between Mad Sweeney & Laura Moon, two characters we didn't learn so much in the book.
Then, comes a "Coming to America" story. A beautiful one, admirably played by Emily Browning. It was good, it felt good. An excellent complement to the stories already told in the book.
A must-see, definitively.
Game of Thrones: The Children (2014)
Justice. Finally.
OK, take a big breath: it's the end of the season 4, the end of something sad, where justice had no place.
Now, finally, something good happened. I read the books, so there was no surprises, but the show, even if he discards some important parts of the story, involves more emotions from the viewers.
A lot of peoples we used to love had died during these 4 seasons. Bad guys survived, good guys disappeared. And there was no justice for them. Bad guys continued to live.
Now, Arya found a way out. Tyrion found a way out. Jaime saved his brother. The Mountain? Let's see (no spoil)what'll happen to him, but he's in a bad shape. Sansa is safe, too, and Jon survived to Castle Black.
Everything's fine!
Siberia (2013)
Not bad at all
Well, I must say, I really enjoyed the first episode. The "reality show" concept is good, characters have very varied personality, and the acting is not bad at all. (Yes, it's a little bit bad, but I think it's supposed to look like the acting of real people in a reality show, so...)
The first episode gives you the will to know more, and makes you start to guess what influences are behind the scenario. Blair witch project? Cabin in the Woods? Something totally different?
Not the best TV show I ever seen, but it looks really enjoyable! And the five first minutes of the show are really really great.
