Rien à foutre (2021)
Following an aimless path
The lead actor played the role very well, but I didn't feel like the film was really going anywhere.
I cycle of scenes from planes, night clubs, hanging around the hotel/house.
It showed how empty and meaningless her life is. And highlighted how grim work can be at times.
Moon Knight (2022)
I love Marvel, but not this
I've enjoyed every Marvel series so far, but could just not get into this. The internal voice thing reminded me of Venom, and his accent sounded like Ricky Gervais!
It seemed fast moving, but kind of all over the place. By episode 5 I gave up trying to follow it.
Vanquish (2021)
A real stinker
Not sure why 2 good actors would put their name to this badly written trite. The dialogue is terrible, the plot is simplistic and unoriginal. The kind of straight to video rubbish you used to find in HD video store.
The Hate U Give (2018)
Incredibly powerful
I don't tend to review films on here, but the small minded reviews by people who clearly haven't bothered watching the film drove me to.
Great films move you and cause you to think after it ends, and this certainly does. A powerful performance from Amandla Stenberg really makes you empathise what she is going through. The script is incredibly well written and the whole cast put in a good performance.
Perhaps if some people who criticise the Black lives matter protests actually took the time to watch this film they make get more insight into why the black community feel the need to protest.
Serenity (2019)
A dreadful B movie
I only managed 30 minutes of this movie. Felt like the dreadful straight to video movies you used to fund in Blockbuster in the 90s. The plot was a stale "please kill my husband" rerun. The script was tedious and not worthy of the actors in it.
