Almost angry about some of the negativity in mainstream media reviews. I shouldn't be - what do 'art' columnists know about high concept sci-fi? Even if you have zero imagination, you can still admire how the series brings the bleak, inhospitable Kepler-22b to your screen. You have to turn the heating up or reach for the blankets while you watch. As one reviewer here points out, what other series can you point to that pulls so many elements (religion, fusion of bio and infotech, collapse of society, what it means to be a responsible adult) into one storyline? I'm intrigued by the Neanderthal skull, the mystery of the de-evolving indigents, the serpent (okay it's a bit *too* allegorical maybe) and the warm pits. I loved the whole thing start to finish. Well done.

Aaaaaaaah! (2015)
7/10
Insane but great
11 October 2015
I was lucky to get the chance to see this at the Cameo in Edinburgh on 9-Oct 2015, followed by a Q&A with Steve Oram. Steve reckons he saw a film/documentary about apes where one tribe attacked another - the males of one tribe killed all the males and youngsters of the other, raped the females then sat in the trees looking highly satisfied with themselves. Aaaaaaaah ! is a kind of adaptation of this story with the apes replaced by humans. Toyah is brilliant, Noel Fielding makes a short but entertaining cameo and the soundtrack, original tracks by Robert Fripp, is immense. Looking forward to seeing the Director's Cut with the extra blancmange.
