Why didn't they take the boar?
28 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I thought the episode was decent, but at the end I half expected them to leave both guns behind because this has happened in previous episodes. Where they are low on ammo and just leave munitions behind as if they can just go to Walmart and buy more whenever they need to.

But OK, they took the guns. That's good. But then I was wondering if they were going to take the rest of the boat with them. Which would have probably been enough food to feed all of Alexandria for at least a day or two. But they left it behind. They didn't even try to take what they could carry. Wasn't the whole point of their mission to scavenge for food? It doesn't make sense. But then again a lot doesn't make sense with the writing of TWD in the past few seasons. I am still watching because I want to see what happens but there are too many incidents like this that just don't make sense and don't fit the decision-making of people stuck in a zombie apocalypse.

Anyway apart from that annoying detail I enjoyed the episode well enough. In spite of the fact that they have these random episodes of random side-stories sprinkled in that don't progress the main storyline. This one was actually fairly enjoyable though.

I loved it
21 August 2023
I preface: I didn't read the book.

That being said, I loved it. The acting was good, the production was good. It had a very real-life 70s vibe. Even though I was born after the 70s I know enough to know they probably hit quite close to the mark. The characters were believable, the drama felt real. I mean there were times I hated the characters, but that was all by design. The characters were designed to be hatable at parts. And if a show accomplishes creating the intended feelings in the viewer, that means it was well-made. I thought the ending was very good, very well-made. It was sad but also felt complete. They didn't leave any holes or anything hanging without explanation.

It had a pretty strong "soap opera" drama feel during a lot of it. But I thought it was well done and enjoyed it. And it all felt very realistic for the characters of young, passionate, and drug addicted rock stars catapulted into fame and money.

I would say if you are inclined to watch it, ignore the bad reviews and give it a try. Also, please don't review until after you've seen the whole show.

A masterpiece on par with "Dark"
21 November 2022
I loved it and don't understand the negative reviews. I think many people just don't have the patience for good television. Though for me it never felt slow, but that's what most of the negative reviews say - that it was slow and boring.

I think if you like dark, suspenseful, and psychological then you will like this. Dark was the same way, though obviously they are very different shows (as they should be; who wants to see another show similar to Dark?) I don't want to add any details and will stick to generic descriptors because I don't want to give any spoilers, but the way the show progresses is brilliant. The entire journey was riveting, and as the mysteries start to get explained it is truly a mind bender in the best possible way.

I am highly looking forward to season 2 and hope the creators and everyone else involved keep up the amazing work.

Very good adaption of literary masterpiece
26 October 2022
This is one of my favorite books of all time. I will start with that preamble. Therefore I had high and hopeful expectations for this when coming into it. After watching the first three episodes, I am quite pleased with the screen adaptation. The casting is very good, the production value and writing are also great. The acting is excellent. The setting in Bombay is exactly how I would imagine it would be based on the writing in the book. I would highly recommend this show to anyone who is a fan of adventure, love, heartbreak, heroism, corruption - essentially the whole spectrum of humanity comprised in one epic story based on true events. Though I would even more highly recommend reading the book this show is based on, which I consider a modern masterpiece. Read it before or after you watch the show, however you wish. But just find the time to read it at some point; it's phenomenal.

The only reason I am giving the show 9 stars, instead of 10, is due to the chronology of the script in comparison to the book. Overall the story in this television adaption is fairly faithful to the original source material. And while one can understand some changes being made, when adapting a book to the medium of television or film, I am personally of the opinion that the adaptation should be as close as possible to the original, and the only changes (if any) should be of omitting unnecessary segments which don't further the main story. I personally don't like seeing changes in the chronological order of events, although I can understand the argument that that is necessary for keeping a television show engaging and not losing viewers in fear that otherwise the story would be too slow. Or perhaps there is another reason I am missing. Anyway, the story is faithful except for some small modifications in the chronological order of events. I only harp on this because I love the book so much. This small criticism should not deter you from giving the show a chance. It is an excellent show and I commend everyone involved in making it.

A gem
5 May 2022
Filled with humor, wit, satire and more, this show is truly a gem. It has some of the most clever and intelligent writing I've ever seen in a show. It has better and worse moments, like any show, but over the course of the series, it always comes back amaze you. It will fill you with tears of joy and sadness... all in a single episode. This is truly one of the most emotional roller-coaster rides of a show I have ever seen. With the ups being as high as the downs are low. If you enjoy quality comedy and story-telling, give ol' Bojack a try. Disclaimer: this show is not for the faint-hearted, overly-sensitive or closed-minded. Watch at your own peril.

Back in the 90s, I was in a very famous TV show... *walks off whistling*
