Matilda: The Musical (II) (2022)

Incredible

The casting is superb as are the choreographies, music score, acting performances and the overall visual image.

It's an original take of the Matilda we all know and love and I loved every second of it.

The main characters were very believable and I was most impressed by the little girl playing Matilda. The story telling ability and the subtle acting were really impressive. Especially it being a musical, containing lots of over the top elements, you really feel like you get to know the characters and experience the journey with them.

I am not sorry I've decided to watch this, even though reluctant at first (as a new mom I find the plot much more disturbing than I did as a child).

Dance Moms (2011–2019)

Love it

Love the show, as a former dancer I found it really entertaining. The moms are completely toxic though. Some of them hide behind 'fairness' but they are just hiding the fact they are insecure women with little to live for except through their daughters. The girls are great.

Thirteen (2003)

Realistic, even if you don't want to believe it

I'd recommend watching this move for the last big scene alone. One of the best movie scenes I've ever seen. It might be that I also can identify with a lot of the issues, watching at the 13 year old self. Very well executed.

Downsizing (2017)

Disappointing and flawed

It was flawed on so many levels, I can't even begin. The storyline - if everything was small it would be the same. Now big planes are carrying them around and big people are making sure they're safe in their ''balloons'' - who would do that then? Also why would they pull out their prostetics and fake teeth, but they did have everything downsiyed in their land - organic AND anorganic stuff. What about having more money as a small person? I mean they didn't eat the big bread of big people, they produced a small one - the price would be higher if anything.. Also love would fix what? The whole problem was about extinction, and bringing food to some poor people will not change that. Maybe he found his purpose with his final act - but nothing more than that. I was really disappointed. The concept was interesing but the execution... just very poor.
