No Escape (2023– )

Very good ride

It's become a norm where TV shows or mini series crawl at a snails pace and you wait until something finally happens, not here I'm afraid if that's what you're looking for.

It's a bit of a roller coaster ride let down by two main actresses as everyone points out - just bland acting the two main girls but the show has enough of good stuff to make up for it. Could have been great if the leads had more than was face/look/expression - sorry girls. Every scene this blank wide eyed stare that doesn't really say anything.

Give it a try, i'ts a great story that always leaves you wanting for more, binged on it a bit but im glad because that hasn't happened for a while.

All in all - Worth a watch 100%.

All Souls (2023)

It's ok, let down by budget

The film is enjoyable to watch, well acted with a good story. It is let down by unbelievable plot holes towards the end.

River arrives in a drug dealer compound/ranch, there are topless women dancing, doof doof playing, yea cool. But when the action goes down there are only 4 bad guys? Where is everyone else?

One guy at the door and the other guys involved in the plot, there is nobody else in sight, there's gunshots and people getting shot so where is everyone else? Even the dancers lol - they just vanished?

So yea, at that point the whole thing kinda crumbles.

It's a shame, could have been strong finish.

Still give it a 6.

There's just so much good stuff here it's not easy to find words. Great acting with an excellent script. All the positives about this film are so overwhelming that it's hard to actually think of something to criticise. I'ts funny how so little happens yet it's just such a huge dose of fresh sweetness and love, and really a LOT happens.. i just love the main character, he's such an inspiration, i want to be more like him in everyday life and i am planning to do so, .. and yes, i cried - not just once.

We are all bombarded with media left right and center these days but most of it is trash - this is the exact opposite.

Overall this is a a film where you end up asking yourself; why was this even made? not sure what Charlize was thinking i guess all stars have a bump in their career, yea? Seth needs to stick to stoner comedies, sorry bud. the plot is ridiculous, the jokes fall short every time, there is no chemistry here. the whole thing is just a waste of oxygen. sorry to say.

It's really pointless. half way through you're left wondering if anything is going to happen. the only thing that happens is that it ends. and it ends in the most stupid moment. i'm sorry but there's nothing here. bunch of people eating drinking and talking rubbish that is so irrelevant. all the good reviews are fake. after seeing the film it becomes crystal clear. thanks

Lost Child (2017)

It's a bit confusing as to the name of this movie. This movie is also known as Tatterdemalion 2018, which at the time of me writing this has IMDB score of 7.9 which is a real reflection of this film rather than the lame 5.2 Lost Child 2018 has. It's quite a cool story, more thriller than horror, there is no horror in it imho. anyhoo , it's a pretty good film.

I enjoyed this movie despite the low IMDB rating so have to let others know that it might not be what you expected. Excellent strong performance by lead actress and the story doesn't sugar coat things. I really didn't expect it to be as good as it was, while it's not going to be everyone's cup of tea it kept my attention all the way through. It's a strong 9/10 in my books. thanks

Pretty cool movie with some laughs. i'm not sure it would be the same for English speaking audience and subtitles but if you can speak Polish then this is a great movie. Smart script with great acting is always a strong recipe.

It's a pretty good film, Caitlin FitzGerald and Mackenzie Davis did an excellent job and hold interest for most of the film. The whole thing is ruined by a poor ending which appears to be a patch to the whole film that doesn't belong there. It could have been much better. Still enjoyable to watch.

Great film! An intelligent script interweaving several layers executed perfectly. Not one line out of place and not one orphaned moment to lose interest in. I think the ending was a little out of character but that's only a small blemish on otherwise captivating drama. I really enjoyed this - Love Your Work!

How is this classified as comedy? really, who came up with that? the only comedy here is how fat Charlize got for the movie, it's amazing how she takes on her roles. Pretty good film, I enjoyed it, it' smart and slightly haunting. Both lead actresses did an outstanding job.

Pretty bad movie - don't waste your time and money. It's just a bunch of special effects and action glued together with feces. The plot is just ridiculous bad. I walked out from the cinema - with great pleasure, was contemplating a snooze but cinemas are a bit loud for that, just didn't care at all for whats on the screen or what will happen next - not one bit. The whole thing is an obvious cash grab.

Clair Foy is great but the film falls flat. It has a decent start but by the end of it it's gripping at desperate straws and ends up in a stupid mess. The plot gets just cringe worthy, difficult to find words for it, be stubborn and see it, then you will understand.

emotional poetic feast

Wow! This is a really beautiful film. Half way through it I contemplated turning it off in fear of it falling into cliché of mindless violence, and this way holding on to the grace it portrayed. But to my surprise it carries it's beauty right to the end. This is a masterpiece of love and adventure; in it's content no piece of it is out of place or lacking necessity. I am just so grateful to have seen this!

Just a quick note simply because this movie has such a low rating. I watched it because Reese is in it expecting something rather lame according to IMDb but I give it a 9 out of 10 easily. It's an excellent film with great pace, even for such a long film, excellent acting and intelligent script. It's slightly predictable but what love story isn't?

I totally do not understand the low rank on IMDb. Reese is super cute, even with her dorky smile with top jaw pulling out like an alien. ha ha. Will watch this again in the future. Hope this review helps someone make a small adjustment to making their afternoon matinée work. he he

The Equalizer (2014)

This is such a bad movie on so many levels i do not understand the IMDb rating.

The violence is very graphic, and thats about it. Can not get more cliché than this movie, it's like Welcome to the Rileys with a whole bunch of retard thrown in.

The film is pretty much a definition of cliché, Ex special forces guy living an ordinary life, Corrupt cops that he beats up, ha ha, A young girl caught up with some nasty shite decides to trust this guy to save her, probably because of the way he stares at people.

It's just ridiculous, I walked out 2/3 through the movie, it really was that bad, only the second time in my life i've done that. And it's beyond me how the movie got such a high ranking here, the term ignorant masses comes to mind.

If you love overdone overplayed clichés, you will love this film. Otherwise give it a miss.

Cake (II) (2014)

OK, I love Jennifer Aniston, have before anyone knew who she is. There is something about her, you either get it or you don't; but this is not the time nor the place.

Having said that I guess my review of this film is slightly biased (you think?). That's if you can call several sentences a film review :)

I enjoyed this film a lot, the pace is great right from the start and i found myself drawn into a whole bunch of questions about Clair and the crap she's going through. I guess the main theme here is pain and different ways of dealing with it, it's not all spelled out for you, so take it as it is. But i think it does a great job illustrating a downward spiral real intense ongoing pain can be, and how that changes a person. Clair is so far from Rachel from friends :)

If you know what pain is than i think you'll enjoy this film..

i gave it a biased 9 out of 10

Wish I Was Here (2014)

An easy 9 out of 10 as 10/10 is not an option for me (its just there to aim for).

This film touches a wide array of themes and does it in a perfectly delicate way; love, loss, isolation, grief. Everything you'd want in a movie is here, great script, drama with a splash of humor to top it off. I did not think Zach can be a serious actor being a fan of Scrubs, but even Turk makes an appearance here and it's all done in style. Zach Braff is a director to look out for in the future, for me anyway. There are lines in this film that I will remember for a while. This one is a keeper - i'm looking forward to watching it again in the future.

Wow! this one is a diamond in the rough!

Knowing nothing about the story I was quickly drawn in for an odd but amazing ride. The story is thought provoking rather than amusing, one is left to draw own conclusions. Beautifully shot with breathtaking nature and landscapes. Scarlett is perfectly cast in this role, she is beautiful as always and it's great to see so much more of her :) The man in the story are convincing in their roles.

The film is not going to be everyone's cup of tea, there is no doubt there. Perfect oddity for this rainy day! I enjoyed every minute of this film giving it a 9 out of 10.

Jackass Presents: Bad Grandpa (2013)

i like knoxville and jackass - that is some clever and original ideas, however, this movie is another cup of tea. And let me tell you, it's bad, really bad.

there is not much here im afraid. the plot is sadly very simple and cliché and hardly amusing. knoxville does what he does best but that's pretty much the only redeeming quality of this film. The funny moments are pretty much of the toilet humor variety. And telling old fat chicks that they are sexy.

Or getting your penis stuck in a vending machine? who the hell wrote that sketch? and who bought that idea? oh yea, lets put it in the movie, it will be funny. har har har..

the show is written by retards for retards, don't say i didn't warn you.

Femme Fatales (2011–2012)

After reading all the reviews on IMDb i decided to give this show a try. Let me ask you people, do you live your life in a cannabis haze? because after watching the first episode i am convinced that is the only possible way to enjoy this terrible waste of time show. The acting is pretty awful, the glazed eyes and dull recitation of lines could be very easily outdone by a group of drama students - no doubt there. The story is absolute trash, it insulted the intelligence of my pet baboon, he is too traumatised to watch TV this week after watching this excuse of a production. Within the first 10 minutes you will experience a wide array of situations so unbelievable that you will start wondering if you're watching a stoner movie or a high school amateur super slim budget flick . I mean it's in a prison and there are two prison guards? or was the budget so low? when prisoners fight - one slim female officer runs in to break up the fight - ONE! lol. and to add to the insult this officer is stopped from hitting a prisoner, guess by who? by the other prison officer. ridiculous i tells ya.

you might stop there, as I did, and take another look at IMDb - as I did and decide that the story will get better, boy was I wrong. It just gets worse after that. I don't often write reviews but I strongly believe I can save some unfortunate soul out there from wasting 1 hour of their lives. This show is a dud, apart from some lesbian scenes it really has no redeeming qualities. AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE , you have been warned.
