Krampus: The Devil Returns (2016)
Cringey and hard to watch
How in the world did somebody film this and think, "yeah this is good, let's put it out" dude, my nine year old could've done a better title screen, wtf was the fog??? what is going on in these peoples heads when they're putting all of this together lmao. at first I was like, is this a parody? like there's no way that somebody made this and thought it was good afterwards. the camera angles are so bad. bad directing. awful production. the acting is the worst part. I mean listen- I love a good b movie. but this is just..so unbelieveably bad I honestly want to go throw the whole thing in my firepit and try to wipe it out of my brain forever .
Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
You are not a superior Star Wars fan just because you hate the new movies.
I caved in and saw the Rise of Skywalker.
I didn't want to see it because I had seen spoilers, I saw who died and it ruined me off beyond belief. I'm a big fan of tfa & tlj and I had high hopes for this one..no matter if you see/hear the spoilers or not, you have to see the context of it all. while I don't think it was a good ending, I think it was an understandable one. I can accept it and live with it. That's literally the only reason I'm giving this an 8 instead of a 10.
I thought the film itself was put together really, really well. visual effects: AMAZING. acting: FLAWLESS. the energy throughout the movie was just intense. I never got bored, and I only grew to love the charcters even more throughout the film. there was a good mix of humor and emotion and action. there were a few 'wtf' moments (the very last scene made me laugh because ..no?) I could sit and nit pick but I don't want to. I want to like it. overall I enjoyed it & I can live with it.
also, every single scene with kylo was amazing. seriously every time he came on the screen my heart started beating faster, he made me feel so much emotion, and I guess it could just be adam driver's acting idk. all I know is, he was epic in this film.
I didn't grow up knowing star wars, I never watched it as a kid. I think I was around 18 when I first watched all the movies & really got into understanding the story. I can't tell you how many times I've watched episodes III & VI. of course the older ones are the reason we all came to cherish this story and these characters. they hold a special place in our hearts. that being said, when the force awakens came out, that was a whole new thing for me. tfa and the last jedi made me fall in love with star wars even more than I already was. these new films are a different experience. people are still holding onto the old era of star wars and you just can't do that when going into movies made 40 years later, with a new story and new characters. star wars fans need to stop hating star wars. we're all here because we love the story- star wars is about the balance between good and evil, the jedi and the sith, the force, and friends, and family. that's what it's always been about and the new films have stuck to that. of course they can't please everybody. you aren't a superior fan because you hate the new movies, or even because you've liked star wars longer. I'm proud to be a fan of the whole skywalker saga.
Captain Marvel (2019)
Went into Captain Marvel with little knowledge
I'm a huge Avengers fan, I've seen all the films but I havent read much of the comics. So I really didnt know much about Captain Marvel other than she was paged at the end of Inifinity War. WELL. This film unfolded her story so well, I really loved it start to finish. I thought there was enough action start to finish, of course the second half was much more fast paced as with most every super hero film. I didnt get bored for a second. I loved following her & Fury on their adventure and found it awesome to see a younger Samuel L Jackson on screen again. Brie Larson plays a wonderful Captain Marvel. I watched a few behind the scenes before seeing the film and I saw how much time and effort she put into this character and it paid off well. Towards the end when she unleashes her full power I got chills. She's OP as heck & I love it. Soundtrack was great as well. I'm so pumped for End Game after seeing this!
Evil Dead (2013)
Exceeded all of my expectations. I loved it!
This film was amazing. My husband is a HUGE fan of original and has been waiting for this remake for years. I was worried because there was such big hype about it, then I went and read a couple reviews before we went to see it which worried me even more. After the movie ended my husband and I sat there speechless. I don't not know how or why there's people giving this 1 and 2 stars. I'm going to assume those people think all remakes suck and go into it without even giving it a chance. There is NOTHING I would change about this movie. It scared the hell out of me. The acting was great and so were the special effects. I love how they twisted the story around from the original. And most of all if was really, REALLY gory. I plan on seeing this movie at least 2 more times in theaters. And I can't wait to own it!
