The Broken (2008)
my brain is broken from this movie
The attempt was wonderful, HOWEVER that was where it was left at, an attempt. The movie lacked depth and intrigue and made me wonder why the hell I bothered sitting to the end in hopes it would end well. I found more enjoyment making up my own story while waiting for this wet towel to unfold but unfortunately this wet towel should have been wiped over my head before they strapped the headpiece of the electric chair on... The sound quality was so unbalanced my thoughts seemed to even out. I am glad it ended tho. Do yourself a favor, if you want to watch a movie along these lines, watch mirrors instead. If you want to watch a good movie about dopplegangers stick with invasion of the body snatchers or stepford wives or war of the worlds. If you want to stick to just reading than by all means read edgar allan poe.
Whispers: An Elephant's Tale (2000)
a true life story of a young elephant on a quest to find where he belongs
I appreciate the fact that this movie was a true life story filmed on location. It gives you a real sense of what elephants go through in their own habitat and having a story added made it even easier to understand the elephants. I found this very enjoyable and I was drawn into the life of the elephants. I don't think the movie got the proper marketing or the appreciation it deserved. Disney had a great idea with this movie and I would like to see more movies done with other animals in the wild etc... Even our 15 month old child sat through the movie and watched it and she doesn't even enjoy watching television. We will be purchasing this movie. I feel that it is unfair to compare this film with other talking animal movies, for this was real life with commentary added as opposed to a fictional story manipulated by animation.
