John Wick: Chapter 4 (2023)
Utterly overrated
I'm really struggling to understand why this movie was rated so good. It is insanely ridiculous. Unbelievably unrealistic. Bad script. Almost three hours with way too long (even boring) fighting scenes. I must have seen something different than all the others. Keanu Reeves was maybe talking 30 lines in almost three hours. Or at least that's how it feels. 1 and 2 was ok. On one point I thought I'm back on matrix. Always additional opponents showing up - but of course always just two at a time and in the same order - two masked ones, two in suits, and then starting again with two masked ones etc. What a pity.
There is only one nice thing - even though you could consider it as a bit too much: Camera and light were really great.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Utterly disappointed
Simply said: too much. I loved Dr. Strange, the multiverse idea. How can anyone with these two ingredients fail so massively. I hated Wanda suddenly being the bad. The last third is way too much. Such a pity.
Harrow (2018)
Acting by main character dreadful
First season was quite good. The second was awful - illogical behaviour etc. Simply badly written. The third is somehow in the middle. What's most annoying is the absolute catastrophic acting of the main character. I only saw him before in the fantastic four. It was enough for that. But here it's sometimes almost funny how bad he is. Unbelievable.
The Lost City (2022)
Really funny
I haven't laughed so much for a long time at a movie. This was really fun and simply good entertainment. Playing with viewers expectations and ignoring them. Well done.
Ragnarok (2020)
Good idea - bad main character
The main character is really an incredibly bad actor. His brother Loki is playing massively better. The setting is great and story is decent. The mother is a crazy stupid character. The authors should do better.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
No clue why this movie is rated so low
I loved this movie. So much heart, fun and good message. I totally loved it and don't get the bad rating.
The Midnight Sky (2020)
Way too predictable
Nice pictures and Clooney played well. Is it slow? Yes. Didn't disturb me. Does it lack certain explanations? Yes, didn't disturb me neither. BUT: Why would anyone just want to go home into certain death? And with the girl showing up I immediately knew all including the woman in the ship was his daughter which he wanted to warn. I was also disturbed by him surving the water break and actually believing that this so called plot twist was not totally predictable. And I was also disturbed by the fact that he bought her time but humanity still will extinct. So: all total useless. But yes: he finally learned that he better would have spent time with his daughter? Quite a lot around this trivial learning. Really a pity. There are so many great sci fi books that could be filmed. This story wasn't worth the money and Clooneys loss of weight..
Star Trek: Discovery (2017)
I like it
Yes it's a bit too much crying. But in all its the best Star Trek ever. I never liked it before. Now I do. Obviously the opposite of all the other reviews. For me now understandable.
The Sinner (2017)
Matt Bomer was amazing
The third season was not fully convincing. A bit too slow and to little tense. But Matt Bombers acting was without doubt astonishing. I was impressed.
In the Shadow of the Moon (2019)
Surprisingly good movie
I don't understand the bad reviews. I liked this movie a lot. It was human, interesting characters and a good story. I recommend it.
A Cinderella Story: Christmas Wish (2019)
Please don't put no-singer into musical
It was an expectedly not very good movie. But the singing with auto-tune was so bad. Please just don't do that to us. Why not talent instead of just looks?
The House That Jack Built (2018)
Sick
This movie is just a sick film for psychos feeling great when women are slaughtered. The what's so ever trial to be art has failed. Disgusting and not funny at all. Tone missed to be satirical or ironical. I wonder what sick of a mind one must have to make such a movie. And I saw most of the other Lars von Trier Movies. This one is really a failure.
Always Be My Maybe (2019)
Szene with Keanu Reeves was hilarious
The story is not new but nice cast and an absolute highlight when Keanu Reeves appears. The restaurant szene is hilarious. Watchable only because of this szene.
Bird Box (2018)
Surprisingly good!
I actually was glued to the sofa. Very thrilling good played movie with excellent cast. I absolutely recommend it.
Christmas Wedding Planner (2017)
Sexist
He's a sexist asshole. Stopped after 20 Minutes of unbelievable stupid and several sexist behaviour. How is something like this possible nowadays?
