Wedding Season (2022)
Tried to like it
We were in the mood for a light movie and tend to like movies with Indian culture in them, but there wasn't enough in this movie to hold onto. Even for a predictable, romantic movie, it dragged. There were some good moments, just not enough of them. The acting was mixed; the lead male and the father of the female pulled the movie along. I didn't expect much. It could have been better.
The lead female wasn't a bad actor, but she seemed to have been miscast. There was absolutely no chemistry between the lead characters. As I said, I tried hard to like this movie, and I had low expectations. I kept expecting it to get better, so made it to the end.
Around the World in 80 Days (2021)
Better with each episode
I am admittedly a David Tenant fan, but wasn't sure how this would go after the first episode. Delighted to say that it keeps getting better. Downright fun! Glad to see a second season will be coming.
A Boy Called Christmas (2021)
Magical and uplifting!
Thoroughly enjoyable Christmas movie by Netflix. The acting is well done with Maggie Smith and Jim Broadbent; the young boy maintains a sense of belief and wonder throughout. It is filled with fantasy and magic, goodness and charm. There is some subject matter that may not be suitable for the youngest of children, but the storytelling is magnificent and uplifting! A wonderful tale showing that goodness and kindness ultimately win.
East of the Mountains (2021)
Powerful and beautiful
Tom Skerritt pulls off a masterpiece of acting in this beautiful film. We were glued to it from start to finish. If you're looking for an action film, this isn't it. This is a powerful and meaningful film with beautiful cinematography. It shines.
