The Deep House (2021)
Good creep factor, crappy physics
Ok, I get you have to suspend some disbelief but there are some obvious physics absurdities
At 30 meters down, they wouldnt be able to make their air last more than 20-30min at most. No guidelines to trace their way to the surface.
They get some interference in their underwater audio and blame it on radio interference which wouldn't penetrate below the surface of the lake.
At one point you hear a piano which never would have sounded underwater. Lastly, any diver would immediately retreat towards the surface as soon as any unforseen obstacle was encountered.
Decently creepy, but God they are stupid.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021)
Not the strongest in the series, but still good
Decent. Some homage to The Exorcist, but the scares are not as great Conjuring 2
Still, it's better than The Nun.
The Jinkx and DeLa Holiday Special (2020)
Irreverent, Celebratory, and Brilliant
It's a drag show.
Super clever writing. But it is Book of Mormon-level irreverent.
That's right up my alley, and I bet it's right up your (back) alley.
Away (2020)
Great acting, horrible science. Grey's Anatomy in space
So Hillary Swank leads a fantastic cast
However, if you have trouble suspending disbelief -- this is not for you.
Instant video communication while 10million miles from earth? Yeah right.
Marionette's in zero G while the astronauts around them float? Newton's beard!
Not scrubbing the mission after crisis #1, #2, or #3?
Allowing close family to have integral input on mission critical decisions? Can you say conflict of interest?
All that to say, it is fantastically acted and if you can get around the science gaffes, then it's a pretty fun show.
