A good effort by "stifler (sp?)"
1 April 2008
I did not believe that this movie is based on a true story till credits started to roll. Sean Scott, "stifler" from the American pie movies has been doing same old college humor based films for which he is been stereotyped into. But this is so him yet not so him. He has taken little of all the characters he plays in his film and made this wonderful character which although you find it funny at times, you start feeling sad, cause he just cant seem to get it right. He channels all his screw ups by sharing them with others making them laugh at them. A good change, yet not totally different, from Sean Scott. Keep up the good work "Stifler"!

Amazing work of art!

Warning: Spoilers
I got the very last tickets to see this movie at my local theater, and it was packed. My expectations were high, and i wasn't the least disappointed. It was really great and very "comic" like ( unlike the other comic-to-movie adaptation's which have failed badly ). Yes, there is lots of violence and gore, so leave the kids behind. Since, the comics were release long back and well accepted, character development was very very strong. Every character stands out, just where they ought to and stay with you even after the film is over. *********May contain spoilers**************** Loved characters with no dialogues, miyo and junior ( elijah wood has done a great job, with the fight scenes, miyo reminded me of kill bill ). *********end spoilers************************ Overall a great movie, watch it on the big screen to experience the "clean-cut" feel of the movie. I was glad the movie is not in full color, with the amount of splatter, i am sure you will agree with me. Great flick, sure to become a classic.

The Forgotten (2004)

A good Effort
25 September 2004
I went to this movie, with reviews saying it was a mix of 'sixth sense' and ' momento ', which was true to some extent. The music is "very" similar to that of sixth sense, giving it the, their is something twisted about the ending feeling. It was certainly a good effort, but the movie starts to drag quite a bit and time, but then pulls you back, with sudden jerks. After watching the movie, you become exactly like what the movie says, 'forgotten'. The thing that was going in the mind was, " Did i just watch this movie? Cant seem to remember....". Great effort by Julian Moore as a grieving mother, dominic west does his part too, but the others don't have much of a role. Definitely worth a watch and to be forgotten later.7/10

One of the years best.
31 July 2004
This is one of the best movies of the summer and one of Night's good films. Though the script might not hold the strong captivation of the sixth sense, it does a pretty good job, especially during the build up to climax. i don't want to say more about the film as it will give away the story, but please remember, this is not just a " horror flick" ( thought it has some seat jumping moments ), it has much more deeper meaning which you will realize after the movie. mesmerising violin solo's performed by hilary hahn add to the beauty of the film. DO NOT let the reviews misguide you! i walked into the theater ready to be disappointed, but came out with a much rewarding experience. though the cinematography was good in this movie, it wasn't as good as tak's takes ( tak fujimoto was night's cinematographer for his previous films ). well, my money was definitely well spent and i am planning to watch it again when it comes out on DVD

Superbly crafted masterpiece
5 November 2003
Requiem is more that just a movie about drugs. Its so real that you one would think thrice before he even think about doing drugs. And its not just "illegal" drugs, but also other "legalized" prescriptions that we take due to all the hype caused, but never realise the serious side effects such might have.

Though it seems to be fun at first and everything might seem perfect, eventually it leads to your fall into a dark and ugly place you never even thought about.

The characters are played beautifully by all the cast. Great direction and one of the best editing i have ever seen. One haunting soundtrack is played over and over again and it gets better as you listen to it more.

I would highly recommend this movie, and i think it should be played in high school, to educate kids from stayin away from drugs. Although this fil doesnt exactly say that, you have to watch it to understand, will change ( or reinstate) your view point on drugs.

Pi (1998)

Worth a Watch..
4 November 2003
Pi is somethin like you have never seen before. Shot completely in black and white, it gives you the prespective of that of a numerologist and not that of a mathematician. so this is clearly NOT a "true" mathematics movie.(* so dont complain *).

The numbers and series and patterns play and equal part as the actors. the character played my max which is the primary focus of the movie, was very well done. The irritating yet engaing haunting music is something like you have never heard before.

The movie is short and it builds up to a climax which is not about mathematics, numerology but sheer insanity that the main character brought upon himself.

Though a low budget movie, its really well crafted and is definately worth a watch.

Mind-breaking climax.
16 October 2003
The movie's plotline was very normal and down to earth. After a while it sort of get slightly boring too. Then come the bizzare hallucinations which ultimately lead to a horrific climax that will leave you breathless and green. Its definately not for the weak stomach. Great acheivement in filmmaking.
