The Punisher (2004)

An action MUST-SEE

This movie had everything that one could ask for in an action film. The villains in this film were outstanding and believable. It was the first time since SWORDFISH, that I have seen John Travolta play the bad guy. A friend of mine had gotten a copy of this movie earlier and showed it to me. I could not deny that this was a great action flick. Thomas Jane was definitely the one for the Frank Castle role. Thomas Jane definitely had the Punisher look and act. I especially enjoyed hearing him say "this is not vengeance, this is PUNISHMENT".

If you like action films, THE PUNISHER is a great entertaining action film to watch.

Airplane! (1980)

Absolutely laugh out loud funny

I will begin by saying that this was one of the greatest comedies ever made. The 80's were the best time for making comedy films. I thought that Fast Times at Ridgemond High was a great comedy film also. This movie was almost as good as Animal House. Of course Animal House was 1978 and it was a great film. This movie had a lot of good sense of humor. Robert Hayes was outstanding in this film as well as Julie Hagerty. I also thought That Leslie Nielson was outstanding for his role. Nielson was one of the best 80's comedians. I think that this movie should have been put on the top ten comedy films. The best comedy films with good sense of humor are

Mystic River (2003)

A Must See

This movie is based of one of my favorite novels. I thought the movie was just great. It follows the book almost exactly. Of course, there are things not put in the movie from the book, but they are minor things. Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon are two of my 8 favorite actors. I think Penn and Bacon fit the roles perfectly as Marcus (Markum in the movie) and Devine. Fishburne and Robbins also gave a great performance in this movie. I was glad to see Bacon get a good role; moreover, after I heard that he was going to play Sean Devine, I was happy and I knew that he was a perfect choice. See this film, it is a must-see.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)

Another truly MUST-SEE film

I will start by saying that this is the best episode of all the Lord of the Rings. I just kept watching this film without getting up to stretch or go to the bathroom. This film had me watching it, without moving, until the very end. The ending is something that should definitely get an award for best picture. Moreover, Viggo Mortensen, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom should all recieve some awards for their great act. This film is a definite must-see.

The Vanishing (1988)

A rather great psychological thriller

I have just seen this film, and I thought that it was a great film. The movie really gets you when you understand how rather shocking the mystery really is. The American version was much worse than this one. The big mistake was remaking this movie. This movie itself had everything great, then comes a remake that is extremely predictable. Anyway, what I must say is that this movie is truly outstanding. It is not really the murder that scares you, but the reason as to why the person does it. This movie is highly recommended to those that like mystery and foreign films.

Pearl Harbor (2001)

Just awful

I was so disappointed after seeing this film. The only focus should have been Pearl Harbor itself and not the other mumbo jumbo. I mean the love is unrealistic, the scenes after the attack on Japan are unrealistic, so why put them there? I would certainly not recommend this film to anyone. My advice is, AVOID THIS MOVIE AT ALL COSTS. It is even worse than Hannibal.

Basic Instinct (1992)

Erotic mystery

I will begin by saying that this movie was very good; however, if you take out the beautiful Sharon Stone and the sex scenes, the plot becomes boring. I thought that the movie was made very well because at times when one is trying to figure out who the killer is, they are a bit thrown off after they watch the sex scenes. The movie was somewhat predictable, but I still liked it. Definitely worth watching if you have some time on your hands.

National Lampoon's Animal House (1978)

One of the best comedies out there

Where do I begin? I will say that this movie keeps you laughing until the very end. Belushi, Matheson and Riegert are totally amazing in this movie. I remember when my friends and I went to see this movie right when it came out and we were laughing our butts off. I was sixteen when I first saw this film. This movie is definitely worth watching, especially if you like comedy.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation (2000–2015)

PREDICTABLE

When I first started watching this show, I thought it was pretty good. However, it became less interesting because the celebrities that were used to play the villains, were people that played villains in many other films. I will not go into any detail, but that made the show a bit too boring because if you know who did it, you are left with nothing to wonder. In the show Poirot, the villains were unpredictable, which is what made it very interesting to watch.

Hannibal (2001)

Just Horrible

This movie just does not make any sense at all whatsoever. In the book, Hannibal Lector had his prints changed and a face change. In this movie it is not shown. What truly does not make sense is that if he is living in a place where there is a missing person, what are the odds of an Inspector running into Hannibal Lector without even knowing who he is? If you are on top ten most wanted, it is informed all around the world. The other thing that does not make any sense is how Hannibal was able to get on a plane after the FBI knew that he was in America. If you are on top tens most wanted and you are within the certain area, there will be traffic stops and extreme security to makes sure that the person does not getaway. I could not stand this movie. My recommendation is, Avoid this movie at all costs.

The X-Files (1993–2018)

Sci-Fi mysteries

I am a huge mystery fan. I must say that X-Files is not a bad show; however, I am into more realistic mysteries. David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson are good in the show, but the episodes themselves are meant for mostly Sci-Fi and not to really try and figure out the puzzle. I am not saying it is a bad show, I am saying that it is a great show; however, I am not into these kinds of shows. But I think plot, characters and story-lines are fantastic.

The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

Highly recommended

I truly enjoyed watching this movie. This movie keeps you interested and makes you want to know why the killer was doing what he was doing. You might see who the killer is, but you won't find out why until the very end. This movie is very close to the book. I enjoyed reading the novel and seeing this movie when it first came out had me very excited. I would recommend that people avoid Hannibal, and see this. I would give this movie a 5 out of 5.

The Crimson Rivers (2000)

Outstanding film

I really like mystery films, I must say that this is one of the best mystery films ever made. Jean Reno is just fantastic in this movie. I think he is one if not the best Foreign actor. This movie is very interesting because it makes you want to try and figure out why things happen the way that they do and why the particular person. I really liked the darkness in the film. Darkness meaning the things that one realizes when they hear the story of why the tragedy happened. The movie kept me interested all the way until the end. This movie is highly recommended to those that like mystery films. What I really liked about this movie, is that this movie makes you try and figure out who did the crime and why. The detective work that is shown in this movie is just amazing. This movie shows you a lot of realistic things. Of course this movie was not a real true story, but a lot of detective work is real.

Skinwalkers (2002 TV Movie)

New kind of mystery

I just saw this movie, and I would like to say that this was a great mystery. The setting is in a Navajo county, Adam Beach plays a cop and a medicine man that makes sure things in town are going the way they are supposed to, and Wes Studi plays a good detective. When a murder of a medicine man takes place, Beach and Studi join together to solve the crime. The movie is great because it shows you how the Native American life is. The roles that Beach and Studi play, are roles of heros that would do anything in order to set things right. I cannot wait to see Coyote Waits. This movie was very good and I would highly recommend people that like mystery films, to see this movie.

Murder on the Orient Express (2001 TV Movie)

Good but the original one is better

Alfred Molina really surprised me as Hercule Poirot. His roles are not so good these days; however, that does not mean that he cannot act. His role in Species was good, but I have not seen him in too many good films recently. I think that his role in Maverick was great. Going back to this movie, I would recommend that you read the book first, watch the original one that takes place in the 20th century and then watch this film.

Fallen Angels (1993–1996)

Not bad mysteries; however, some are predictable

I remember watching these episodes on Showtime, and I would have to say that they are pretty interesting. The one with Joe Montegna was really interesting. Gary Oldman had a good role in one of the episodes. Above all, I would give the entire shows combined together, 6.5 out of 10.

Thunderheart (1992)

Truly a must see

I would like to start out by saying that this is one of my favorite films. I thought Val Kilmer was amazing as Ray Lavoy. This movie is based on some real life events; however, not everything in this movie is a real life event, due to lawsuits. Graham Greene also had an outstanding role in this movie. I must say that this movie is a must see, also this movie shows you what things one should not take for granted. If you liked this movie, check out Skinwalkers.

The Doors (1991)

No one else could have do it better

This movie had everything done exactly right. Val Kilmer has a voice that is 99% like Jim Morrison's. People could not even believe that Val Kilmer sang everything. Val Kilmer is extremely talented. For all those that like Jim Morrison, no other movies comes anywhere close to this. Also, if you like Val Kilmer, check out Thunderheart.

Poirot (1989–2013)

Outstanding mysteries

I have been a huge fan of Agatha Christie for 10 years. I have enjoyed reading Mrs. Marple adventures. But Hercule Poirot has everything that one could possible want in a mystery case. I must say that David Suchet is the best choice for Hercule Poirot because he can speak and sound like a Belgian/French man. The TV series are very interesting and enjoyable to watch because they make you wonder who the villain is. I just saw Lord Edgeware Dies, I must say that the episode was great and mysterious. Hercule Poirot can be seen as a person that makes sure to never miss a clue. I enjoy mysteries, and I must say that Poirot is one of the best mystery shows ever made.

Pavement (2002 TV Movie)

Great mystery and psychological thriller

I just watched this movie on HBO with my friends on New Years. I must say that this movie is great in a way that you see that it is a new kind of killer. The motive is the scary part. I liked how they showed a great way to figuring out the killer by using simple tracking methods. If you are really into mysteries, this movie is good to watch because you also want to figure out the motive. Lauren Holly was good. However, this was one of the first films in which I saw Robert Patrick star with a great and sophisticated role. I would recommend this film to those that are into sophisticated mystery films.

For a mystery movie, I would have to give this movie a 4.8 out of 5.

Mindhunters (2004)

Awful

I was really mad that Val Kilmer had to die in this movie. This movie would have been good if Val Kilmer would have survived. I do however liked LL Cool J's role. This movie was really freaky. It shows you that a killer gets those that have a liking for certain things.

At Close Range (1986)

A very sad true story

This movie had me crying. This is a kind of movie that shows exactly where and what self-preservation can lead to. If you look at Brad sr(Walken), you see that he is just a man who cars about getting cash. When his older son Brad Jr(Sean Penn) wants to be like him because he is very poor and wants to get away, bad things start to happen. When the kids get arrested for trying to steal tractors, Brad Jr is the only one that is left in the prison cell. Knowing that his father is wrong about what he is doing after Penn saw him kill a person, he decides to bring his father in. That is when his father goes on a rampage and plans to kill everyone involved, including his younger son(Chris Penn). His father kills everyone, except Brad Jr and Kiefer Sutherland. At the end, you see Brad Jr testify against his father. This movie made me cry at the end. It shows you how Brad jr must feel after he lost his girlfriend and his brother. Brad jr barely survived the shootout, but his girlfriend(Masterson) got shot in the head. I am so glad that Brad Sr is going to rot in jail for what he did. Sean Penn is one of the best actors that there are. He is my favorite.
