Animal Control (2023)
Grows on you
Joel McHale oddly makes this show, although I think it's unfair to say he does it solo. It's a great show once you give a try, It's like a "The Office" meets Animal Control.
Could be better, could be way way worse, I'm glad I took a punt on it because I was hooked and ended up binge watching the entire season.
The whole romanance do they don't they, do they? Yeah, was decent enough, some funny quips and weird shenanigans.
My critique is with the animal it could have been wayyyyy better........ but I guess they had a budget and honestly some of the pranks were just fine.
Well worth a watch, can't wait till season 2! Because from what TV's been so far in 2023, it's not been an exciting year :S.
The Guardians of Justice: It Was Murder, She Said! (2022)
An Utter Waste of Your Time
This show, I thought it could be funny, you know - tongue in cheek - maybe something along the lines of "the boys" or something, with a Retro Edge.
Unfortuantly there is no Edge, it's trying way too hard to be retro - belive me I like retro stuff - I like the funny tongue in cheek type stuff like Peacemaker.. but wow - this is just shocking.
Honestly - they say Netflix will make a show about anything, it's true. What's funny is they wonder why they're bleeding customers, well it's content like this.
This show is more pain than pleasure, the acting, the "is it a comic/is it cgi?/ is it real video" edge just doesn't work either.
Don't waste your time - if you must "see what it's like in the long run" watch episode 1 as that's about the best it gets, I made 3 episodes before reviewing, thats over an hour of my life wasted.
The X Files: Mulder & Scully Meet the Were-Monster (2016)
What are they thinking???
Right... What made them successful was the actual good stuff. Not these light hearted BS crap episodes. Its a new season after a very long break, and they plug this crap on the 3rd episode - after they RIP the whole Alien thing... Right... If another Episode hits like this this season then I'm washing my hands of this crap, the acting was cringe worthy for episode one, let alone skully's botox face of doom, that makes her look like skeletor on crack.
Gz on skinner aging like a pro though!
And the whole idiotic approach to people posting "get a sense of humour" ...I've got one thanks, but I don't watch the X- Files for comedy. The last I checked it wasn't a comedy, the recent acting aside...as IMDb rates it rather accurately "Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi" and that's exactly what the fans love.
If you want to watch something light hearted funny, comical then switch channels or put Family Guy, American Dad or Big Bang Theory on etc.. Not the X- Files!! 0 Edit Reply
The Hateful Eight (2015)
The slowest, biggest load of garbage movie that I've ever seen.
My friend pre-warned me before watching it that I'd be unimpressed.
I thought hmm, well, it's a Tarantino film (he's also a big Tarantino Fan), and IMDb shows 8.1 out of 10, so it's gotta be some kind of awesome right?
Nope. It's not. I've seen better B Movies, the only reason I finished the film was that said friend said it got to a point where it was worth watching at the end.
I've got to say, I still don't think it was worth watching to the end. The film lacks so much, it's comparable to some Saturday night live TV mini series made by some random unknown.
There's nothing funny, clever or interesting in this film, there's no edge, it's just an utterly boring load of crap.
So do yourselves a favour and take it from me, ignore the hype and save some of your well earned cash before throwing it away on this movie, hell the overcharged garbage popcorn they sell is better value for money.
When you read titles like "A car could have it me in the face and it wouldn't have spoiled how much I enjoyed the film" it just goes to show IMDb reviews mean nothing.
If this Movie was reduced down to a 45min Episode of a TV show, I'd have possibly liked it, as it stands its terrible. For a $62 million budget - I'd expect to see so much more.
"Producers haven't revealed individual cast salaries, but $15.7 million of the film's $44 million production budget will be spread across the nearly 170-person crew."
What was the rest of the money used for? It's a bleak, blank mostly shot in one log cabin style film, I honestly despair.
2012: Ice Age (2011)
Worst Film Ever
Sorry to say but this was a total waste of my time.
The acting was so so bad - I've seen better acting from porn stars, the script was so predictable it wasn't funny and the special effects were something from 1990.
The cover to the movie is false, there is no scene of this type in the movie at all, in fact all those buildings are destroyed by the time it hits the statue.
The other reviewer has pointed out a large amount of flaws in the whole movie, so read his review for those - he is totally spot on.
In a "flooded" genre, mind the pun ;) the "End of the World / Natural Disaster" movies have to have some form of as original as possible story line and viability, which this film does not.
