Cell (2016)
A missed opportunity. It should have been a mini series
What a bizarre, hard to follow, chaotic mess. This film feels like a missed opportunity with its chaotic narrative and rushed pacing. It fails to fully develop its characters, leaving the viewer disconnected from the story. Perhaps a mini-series format would have allowed for a more immersive experience.
It's baffling how a film featuring talents like Samuel L. Jackson and John Cusack could result in such a disappointing outcome. Their performances deserve better than the disjointed mess presented here.
Additionally, the film's plot lacks coherence, leaving audiences struggling to make sense of its direction. Despite the stellar cast, the execution falls short, leaving viewers with a sense of disappointment and missed potential.
Hanna (2019)
Wasted potential
The title says it all. The show started of promising. The pilot episode was OK. However every other episode after that *with the exception of the last one* is a drag. Slow pace, nonsensical script and cliché dialogue are the norm in the majority of the show.
If a slow and predictable teenage drama is your thing, then by all means you should enjoy "Hanna"
The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Why the high rating?
What a waste of a great potential!!!
How can I describe the show in a couple of words? - Monotone, slow, redundant, cringe worthy at moments ... I can go on, but you get the point.
A poor script ... and strange acting choices brought what could've been a great show into a downward spiral of overused drama cliches. I had to endure the urge to just quit watching the show, but I had hopes that it will get better.
Well, it didn't.
At the end "The Umbrella Academy" is just like many other underdeveloped shows with no substance to it and a script that made little to no sense. I was left scratching my head in disbelief after the finale.
Waste your time on something better.
The Strain (2014)
Great potential, turned into another sub-par drama
The first season started off great. It showed a promising plot, likable characters, and not bad special effects for a TV show. Throughout the first season and going into the second one everything changed. I had to force myself to finish watching the last couple of episodes of Season 2. It all turned into a soap opera, with 79% nonsensical drama elements, absurd plot, tormenting action and atrocious acting. Too bad another what could have been a great show, turned out to be a boring lemon. The worst part is that they are considering making Season 3 ...
No thanks, I think I'll rather go waste my time watching some other show.
