Memoria (2021)
Most boring movie ever
Really. Don't waste your time. It's more than 2 hours of nothing. The first scene shows how boring the movie is going to be: the protagonist takes 3 minutes to get up from her bed. Then, we go to another king scene that it's just a lot of cars in a parking lot with their alarms soaring. I put my TV on mute until the scene was over. Yes, the director is trying to torture us. I had the bad idea to continue with the movie. It's 6.5 on IMDB after all!
Take my advice. Don't be illuded by this rating. Go watch something else. Anything.
People should stop treating crap like gold, just to pretend they are smart.
Alone (2020)
tipical cliches and confusing route
Try to keep up with me:
she starts driving in the morning, in Oregon. Her GPS says it will take 4 days to reach her destination. At night (same day), she tells her father it will take just + or - 65 miles (?) to arrive at her destination. Then she tells a guy she is heading north. - where do get if you drive 4 days from Oregon?? North Pole? She sleeps and starts driving again in the morning. At night, a few things happen and she meets a guy whose car's licence plates are from... Oregon!
So, does she drive 2 days in circles in Oregon?
Ok... simply forget about her route... the plot was going well and convincing, until the cliches begin...
someone is trying to kill her, and at the moments she has the chance to kill him, no... she just turns away, so the killer can be on his feet again and pursuit her again. I hate this so much....
Terrifier (2016)
Why do they insist on those stupid cliches??
We have a good antagonist here. Cruel, sadistic, scary and unpredictable. Everything we need for a good horror movie.
But I really hate when writers forget we have a brain, and do things so stupid that makes us want to stop watching the movie.
The old cliche when the victim hits the killer and he fall in the ground, and the victim has the chance to end the killer for good, but no... they just run and hide in a dead end, just waiting for the killer to get up again and get them. It happened at least 4 times.
The hole movie happens in a building where the victims are locked inside. In the end, one of the victims manages to get out. She was already in the parking lot. What does she do? Run for her life? No. She get in the building again just to be trapped in a garage.
Is it so hard to write a good plot? Really?
Light of My Life (2019)
boring
One of the most boring movies I've ever seen. It's impossible to watch the first 12 minutes. I just skip that. But if you watch it in theaters, I'm really sorry for you. Go to the toilet or something. It's a father telling a bedtime story to her daughter. But really? 12 minutes?
An then the movie is full of these father/daughter conversations...
Ironically, they don't spend one single second to explain what happened to the guy who closes the door in the father's face during the invasion. We just assume he turned into dust?
The world crisis is never explained, so if you want to watch it for the Sci-fi, forget it.
If you have patience for 2 hour father/daughter bonding, go for it.
Fear the Walking Dead: Amina (2022)
when you think it couldn't get any worse.
I wonder what is in the writers heads...
This series is far from being good, but this episode was one of the worst of it all. Stupid dialogues, stupid motivations... oh, and Madison's pic as the thumb of the episode... it's just dishonest. She appears 5 seconds as flashbacks. It is a "watch bait".
Fear the Walking Dead: Mourning Cloak (2022)
Is it not a crime?
So, the actor who plays Ali was over 18 by the time of recording the episode. The actress who plays Charlie was 15. And they make out in the episode. Am not american, but I always see the news where people go to jail for dating people under 18.
So, american rules don't apply to the showbusiness I guess.
About the episode? Oh, it was lame...awful.
I Origins (2014)
What is wrong with hollyood movies?
Movies like this are the reason my girlfriend thinks I'm gonna bang 5 girls on my way to market and 5 more on my way back.
Why hollywood insists in making movies where a random guy meets a random girl and they take 5 minutes to start a sex relationship?
Girls, this is not real! Your boyfriend is not attacked by girls on the street. They don't even look at him.
Oh, the rest of the movie... didn't pay much attention. It's boring.
Fear the Walking Dead (2015)
Borins as hell, holes like the moon
The first 2 season are good. You see the beginning of the outbreak, and some action. But then you start to see a lot of plot holes, like a kid killing a grown man, and then the sister of the deceased guy: "ok, I forgive you", and they become besties.
Seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6 are full of unnecessary drama, stupid decisions and lazy resolutions.
Season 7, has all mentioned above, and.. nucelar fallout. But since the show is so poor written, the laws of physics don't apply here. One person gets cooked by radiation, the other just hides under a truck and he is ok. Sometimes it's ok to walking without mask, other times it's not. It's all depends on what the plot wants. Yes, Einstein must be rolling in his grave right now.
The Twilight Zone: Try, Try (2020)
They did it again....
This is one of those episodes that makes you missi the original series or the one from the '80s.
It's just one more politiced episode. "Men are pigs and mistreat women".
If I want to see something like this, I go watch a drama.
They are raping and distorting the twlight zone.
We Are What We Are (2013)
It was going great... until the last 20 minutes
The movie has a good story, with good acting, etc... I would give a 7 or 8, but then the las 20 minutes came.
Do you know that situation we see in thousands of movies? A character eventually discovers who is the bad guy, and then goes confront him. They fight. The good guy hits the bad guy, who passes out, but doesn't die. Then the good guy simply turns his back and... I guess I don't nedd to finish this sentence. And from there, the sequence of nonsense acts continues: the daughter runs to the neighbor house. Instead of saying someting like "help, my father wants to kill us"... no, she just keeps crying, leaving the neighbor with no idea of what is going on. Guess what? Father kills the neighbor. And last but not least, a 14y old girl was able to hold her father (a big farm guy) agains the table, preventing him to move.
World's Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji (2020)
For US people only
It's a very interesting race, and it could have been a great show. But, they only focus on US teams.
Instead of showing the competitive fight for the first places, they kept focusing on family dramas. American families, of course.
Many teams, even among the 10 firsts, on the show. Some teams don't appear at all.
So it's more a drama of american families than race show.
I'm Thinking of Ending Things (2020)
half good, half bad. Some PC crap
It has some unnecessary PC dialogues, like "the occupational hazard of being a female". I hardly think this idea would be in the mind of a 70 year old janitor.
Other times the movie almost stops to say sorry, when some potentially non political correct thing is said.
OK, the movie:
The movie goes great for the most part, grabbing your attention amd making you try to guess what is going on... it's a shame that it has those typical lazy ends, where "everything is open to interpretation".
Reality Z (2020)
Good effects, poor plot
The make up and visual effects are very good. But the plot and characters lines are poor. It's the highest rate of cliches per minute I've ever seen.
Some lines seem like they just took them from any generic zombie movie and changed on google translator to portuguese. And for some reason the writers are "agephobic"(??) - all middle age men are stereotyped as sexual creeps
The Twilight Zone: Not All Men (2019)
One of the worst things I've ever seen
Forget about the twilight zone mood. It looks more like series made for women. Men are pigs, girl power, etc.....
Stranger Things (2016)
It's for children
Unless you are a big '80s nostalgic or a child, forget about it. It has a good plot, but it is poorly explored by the direction. Everything is predictable: the dialogues, the scenes, who is gonna die and who is gonna live. About dying, there is a "rule" in US movies where kid can't die. The series is runned by kids. Guess what? No matter how big the trouble they face, you know they will be alright. So you simply don't care about the action.
In this 3rd season, the '80 references have dropped a lot, so it's almost a waste of time. Kudos for Priah Ferguson and Brett Gelman, the saviours of this season.
One funny note: Netflix is famous for supporting LGBT, feminism and stuff, but can't tolerate older guys chilling together in a sauna. It makes them "throw up", as Lucas cstates in S03E04.
Nova: Black Hole Apocalypse (2018)
nothing new except for the women
I started watching hoping to find new information about black holes. Since it's relatively new, I thought there would be things never mentioned before in other documentaries.
But it's just the same information as always, except that they changed men for women here. Female scientists, astronomers, hostess, etc... I'm no sexist, but watching this movie without new content made me quit around 30min
The Perfection (2018)
Nothing new. Terrible plot and acting.
Yes, there is nothing new here if you have seen a few japanese movies. Strange Circus, 2LDK, Confessions and many others. The difference is that "The Perfection" has a much lower quality. The plot has 3 or 4 points that are hardly believable. Makes you think "Come on!!" And the music school? My god...
The acting is terrible. When the girl starts feeling sick... my god...
The CGI in the bus scene and in scene after is awful as well.
It seems like Netflix took some good ideas from japanese movies and built a bad movie which the only goal is to exalt the women power.
It Follows (2014)
A good movie
I liked this movie, more than most of terror movies in the last years. A curse is passed from one person to another through sex. Then, as the title says, a creature begins to follow continuously the cursed one. It doesn't explain what it is, but that is not even necessary; you don't feel the need of it. The creature simply walks, very slowly, assuming the form of any person it wants. I'm tired of those many clichés in terror movies, and this one is not like the others. No cats jumping from closets, no stupid deaths, etc. - although I thought the pool scene pretty stupid, but you can judge by yourself. The shots are interesting - a wide angle camera is used, giving a big space idea. I recommend watching.
Turistas (2006)
after all USA had done to the world they still think they are the perfect place.
why American people thinks that everything that is bizarre happens only outside their so beloved country? They can't even point Brazil in geographic map, so how can they say "in a country where anything goes"? What can you people say about Brazil? How would you feel about a movie that says:" USA, a country that puts the finger in everybody's pie"... why "hostel" had to be filmed in east-europe? Killing people is the number one sport in USA. Brazil is a country full of problems, but every country has its own problems and it's up to each one to deal with them.
