Revenge of the Nerds (1984)
No Huge Laugh Out Loud Moments But Still a Greta Movie
When I heard about Revenge of the Nerds I didn't know what to expect. When I watched the movie it was completely different then I thought it would be but I still enjoyed it.
From the opening of this movie you know it's going to be cheesy as all hell which is by no means a bad thing. There weren't a lot if any moments where I laughed out loud however I was grinning like an idiot for most of the movie. It's a stupid movie but yet so enjoyable. The characters in the movie where well done especially Booger who was my favourite in the film.
Overall Revenge of the Nerds isn't a bad movie but it also isn't this fantastic comedy full of laughs. It's a fun movie but there are better comedies. Check it out if you enjoy cheesy 80s films.
South Park: Ass Burgers (2011)
Disappointing
I did not like this episode. I like South Park and all but this was a bad episode. I think the show has been getting bad in the last 11 years with some great episodes here and there. As a whole the show has yet to beat the great run of seasons 1-4. This episode could have been great but it wasn't. I didn't like the depressed Stan scenes since this show sucks when it tries to be serious. There was a funny part when Stan takes a jab at Adam Sandler though. The Cartman sub plot was a little funny but wasn't done very well. Overall this is a bad episode and if you want a good South Park episode then stay away from this and watch seasons 1-4.
Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989)
Great Film
Before I started to watch horror movies last week I always used to read about them. Jason Takes Manhattan was always the most interesting one to me. Finally I watched it yesterday without seeing the other ones because I really wanted to see this one. I must say it wasn't bad. While the title is semi misleading given the fact that most of the film is on a boat I didn't mind that. One thing in this movie...it's so 80s it hurts. Not that that's bad but the music and hairstyles are extremely dated. But the 80s are cool so there isn't an issue there. When they finally get to Manhattan there are some cool parts like when Jason smashes through glass. For some reason the Manhattan bits reminded me of the first Ninja Turtles movie. Also(SEMI SPOILER)thank God the movie has the heart not to kill the dog. When you kill a person in the movie it's whatever but when you kill an animal it's much worse. So anyways I liked the movie but whatever you do...don't go into it expecting to have in all in Manhattan or you'll be let down.
A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984)
Fantastic Film
"A Nightmare on Elm Street" is a fantastic film. Horror movies aren't my thing but I thought this was great. It had my attention the whole way through and there wasn't a second where I was bored. Freddy is a great character and I love the way he is shown in this movie. One thing I didn't like was the scene with his long arms. That just looked stupid. Some of the acting isn't great . Heather Langenkamp was good and fit her role but in a few scenes her acting wasn't great. She got better in Nightmare 3. However the worst performance was Ronee Blakley as Nacy's mother. She was very bad and lacked express. Tina was a horrible character as well. So anyways the film is good, the music is very fitting and creepy and I recommend watching it. Nowadays most people just want 1000 gory bloody deaths in a movie but this movie doesn't need that to be scary. In fact the body count is only 3(or 4?) people. Anyways just watch it.
