Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)

Fun and entertaining

Movie released on 20th December and since I am a big fan of first Aquaman movie wanted to check the sequel out given it's also from James Wan how has always given entertaining movies. Have to say despite all the negativity, to surprise I really enjoyed this movie which was simple, fun and entertaining!!! If you are looking for big action family movie then this is the movie for you!!! Plus it's a beautiful looking movie!!!!

Don't expect any great story or character arc!!! That was never the case of Aquaman!!! It's a movie that looks gorgeous and delivers some epic action!!! Plus great humor!!!!

The Flash (I) (2023)

Fun, entertaining, good time!!!!

The Flash is purely Ezra Miller. He is fantastic as an actor in his dual roles. The story is one of the stronger ones made accessible to everyone including families thanks to its smart comedic lines. The movie really livens up with entering of Michael Keaton and his action scenes are some of the best Batman action we have seen in a long long time. The story takes on strong emotional tone despite the action and the comedy. Plus the action is never too overwhelming without clouding the story. The biggest concern is the CGI which is just bad at moments given the potential that was available here to make the movie a visual feast. If you can overcome the bad CGI then this is one of the better DC outings in recent past which is a great fun, entertaining watch with family or friends. The throwbacks, cameos are real fun and real surprising so avoid spoilers if you can!!!! Plus Snyder fans should be happy given the prominence and respect given to the world he built.

Top Gun: Maverick (2022)

Good movie elevated by excellent climax

Top Gun is a fine example of movie making for the type saying if it's not broken don't fix it. I didn't get the exceptional rave reviews for the movie at first since the start and middle is basically a lot of training and nostalgia and if you are not into nostalgia based on first movie it's nothing exceptional despite the detailed training exercises. It's not a nonstop thrilling movie like the exceptional MI Fallout.

Again like first movie role of the love interest serves no real purpose to Maverick as it hardly helps the story. Still it's sweetness and romance is bound to attract the female demo.

Where the movie really kicks off is last climatic scene which is probably one of the best exciting action scenes ever done in a movie which will give you goosebumps and Tom Cruise is exceptional in it. It escalates the movie from a average movie to a very good movie and leaves you happy, entertained and satisfied. It's a movie that worships the hero and gives the happy ending he deserves going off to sunset with the girl beating the villains in a exciting spectacular fashion which shows you don't need to kill the hero or do something different to please audience. I'm looking at you No Time to Die which messed up badly trying to make Bond something he's not and ended up been worst divisive Bond movie in recent times.

So let this be a good note to filmmakers that you can worship the hero and have a happy ending while giving a great movie as well. Top Gun Maverick is a movie that must be seen in theater for sure.

Chapelwaite (2021–2023)

Surprisingly really good show

Despite limited source material available they haves done a terrific job with this slow moving yet haunting job bringing to life this Stephen King material. It's a prequel to one of the favorite books brought to life in a strong manner.

The Batman (2022)

Perfect masterpiece!!!!

Perfect masterpiece!!! That's all that should be told!!! This is not action heavy but very plot story driven filled with fantastic performances!!! So expect a visually stunning story driven movie than a big action driven Batman movie unlike its predecessors!!!! Truly different and perfect!!!!

Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City (2021)

Shows potential

The new reboot of RE is a decent attempt taking the shoe in right horror direction. Focus is more on horror than action which is good but the horror could have been better. Maybe they should focused on one story than trying to combine RE 1 & 2 stories which gives very less time for characters to interact just jumping from one scene to another. Anyway a much better movie than previous RE movies.

Dune (2021)

Phenomenal visual thrilling experience

Seriously guys do not watch this at home!!! DO NOT!!!! The theatrical big screen and sound systems critical for the full viewing experience. You cannot watch this movie from home and judge this. You simply cannot. So go to closest biggest Dolby theater near you and watch this story heavy game of thrones space epic movie.

Squid Game (2021– )

Great show!!!!

Despite the moody grim nature of the show it manages to pull off great thrills, human drama and most importantly hope and an ending that satisfies giving hope to its viewers. It doesn't try to be ultra realistic or end on a depressing grim note which is why I loved this show!!!

No Time to Die (2021)

Disastrous end to a great Bond

From the beginning I was worried this movie will mess out one of the best Bond runs ever by an actor since Sean Connery and rightly so it did. The movie tries very hard to turn Bond something he's not and as per my belief he's not suppose to be. The general movie is long and boring. It's beautiful to look at but the action is so below par compared to Bond standards. I would say worst action ever. This is so far off from Casino Royale or Skyfall in terms of action or story. The ending of the movie completely underwhelms and is a disappointment where instead of giving the character a deserving ending messes up the whole 5 Daniel Craig movie era. You always know how tough or difficult the situation is Bond will survive. He is a survivor. He makes impossible possible. We come to see how he beat all odds and win the day and ride to sunset. It is a major disappointment due to a movie trying hard to bring family melodrama and sentiment too much ending up as a mess. We have had fantastic emotional Bond movies like Casino Royale and Skyfall which we really felt emotional but in all these Bond picked up his life and moved forward to his next mission. Bond was always back. But this time it was the worst decision ever. Will never have confidence to watch a Bond movie ever again. That's all I know. All I know is the makers got very lucky with this movie and got away from one of the worst Bond movies ever.

Loki (2021–2023)

Best Marvel Disney plus series

This is the only interesting and fun Marvel Disney plus show. Great cast and Tom Hiddlestone is great as always Loki but Owen Wilson steals every scene he is in as Mobius. Strong interesting story unlike other shows. Give this a watch.

Bhoot Police (2021)

Super fun horror comedy

Never had I had fun comedy and horror like this since Stree. Horror comedy is a tough genre and very few succeed in Bollywood but this is an exception. This has great laughs, thrills, horror and great chemistry among cast and lead actors. Must watch!!!!

Tenet (2020)

Big fan of Nolan but this movie is a lost cause

Maybe the concept here is suppose to be great but with muddled dialogues and confusing chaotic story line still can't make sense of this. Some great action for sure.

This movie was so fun at the beginning but was messed up trying to introduce too many villains to the movie. Should have kept simple and would have been as epic as the first movie. This may do well as a hbomax series.

If you want to see He Man in action avoid this. This is just Teela. If you are ok with it go for it. For me it didn't work because I wanted to see He Man in action after long time. Disappointed in Kevin Smith and tired of this Hollywood culture trying to force feed women and change the stories to do so. Make She Ra if you want to and no issue but this is absurd and pathetic.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness (2021)

Story over horror and action

It's always a joy to see Leon and Claire together. The best stories are when these two are together. So it's no surprise that this is a good watch for RE fans. But the disappointment is that it's more focused on story and has forgotten to be more scary or to include cool action. This is where stories like castlevania scored which was perfectly balanced between story and action. But I am hopeful that if this season works that they will expand the story in future seasons with more episodes so not to rush the story at the expense of building suspense, horror and mix of action.

A Quiet Place Part II (2020)

No where good as first movie!!!!

I may be in the minority here but this was rather a disappointment. Direction and scares were good but too few unlike the first movie which kept the excitement throughout the movie. Plus the overall story is not great and a mess. Why someone would just take such a huge chance is not explained and makes no sense. Whilst it's decent it's clear that movie concept is struggling to keep up excitement and hope future installments would be better.

Decent thrills but doesn't make sense

Doesn't make sense how bunch of ppl got together for a curse they had no part of and finally lost their lives to safeguard a curse. It was an unfair ending to some good people. There is no purpose if this group banding together when they weren't even friends with Sam.

The Wolfman (2010)

Underrated fun quiet good wolf man movie

I was surprised at the negative critical and audience feedback. I guess it is because it's more action driven than horror driven movie. Nonetheless it's a beautifully made and exciting movie without a dull moment. One of the better were wolf movies out there.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade (1989)

Third movie is the best of the trilogy!!!!

Wow this was pure delight. Fun, entertaining, charming and adventure all in one this is by far the best of the Indy trilogy. The amazing charisma and chemistry between Ford and Connery is the highlight of the movie and it's such a delight to watch these two legends having a blast in the movie and bringing a great deal of heart and soul to this movie unlike any other Indy movie.

Army of the Dead (2021)

Wow what a bad movie!!!

Save yourself 2.5 hours guys. Only the trailer is good. Movie is soooo stupid. Seriously Zack Snyder cannot write a story to save his life which isn't dumb. Poor action and horrible execution really dumbed down what could have been a decent story.

Those Who Wish Me Dead (2021)

Old school action story with heart!!!!

Angelina Jolie is probably the best actress ever that can kick ass and give a heartfelt performance. This movie is just that. Thrilling every minute thanks to some great tight directing and full of heart between the two main characters. This reminded me of good old fashion action movies that depend on practice effects and raw action. This is a gem and must watch for a great thrill ride.

The Rewrite (2014)

Unnoticed gem of a movie!!!

My wife and I was looking for a feel good romantic comedy movie and it's Huge Grant to the rescue. It's no secret we love Huge Grant and just seeing him we decided to give it a shot and the movie was terrific. It's a total feel good movie that you need to watch and the chemistry between the two leads is amazingly great. Thanks to Netflix we found this gem. Must watch.
