Easy A (2010)
10/10
Sweet & Wickedly funny
17 September 2010
Easy A tells the story of a social nobody made popular by the false rumor of her losing her virginity. It's a lighthearted look at the double standards of men vs women when it comes to sexual experience, and how hard it can be in high school if you are different in any way (gay, fat, etc).

The movie flawless in its delivery & kept the audience in my pre-screening constantly laughing! Emma Stone is extremely charming as Olive, a girl rumored to be the biggest slut in the school & Amanda Bynes is hysterical in her condemnation of Olive, as the leader of an extremist "Jesus freak" after school club. It's set up in the 80's rom-com style, which actually brings a fresher light on the stale Gossip Girl type crowd that's developed today. Here's to hoping we see more movies like this in the future!

Minutemen (2008 TV Movie)
7/10
Adorable but somewhat overdone.
31 January 2008
The main characters in the cast were totally adorable, but it was kind of annoying when typical Disney made all the adults into stupid nut-cases who treat kids terribly. The plot was also fairly good, kids going back in time to save the geeks from embarrassment, but I think they got a little carried away towards the end with the black whole. When Charlie (the younger super-genius friend) ran into the FBI and suddenly exclaimed "four hours until the end of the world" I couldn't help but laugh, as it was just far too over-the-top. Overall the point of the movie was pretty cute though, accepting your past, learning popularity isn't everything, and loving your friends for who they are.

The Final Destination series gets worse with time
9 February 2006
I just saw this movie and it was hardly anything to brag about. From beginning to finish it was completely unrealistic, corny, and far fetched, not to mention it was hardly scary at all. And when I say "scary" I'm talking about actual stuff that made you jump, not just stupid gore. Apparently whomever made this movie thought that by making it insanely gory and making the deaths into what are the worst and most gruesome of the three movies it equaled scary, and it doesn't. Unless you're really into pointless movies with lots of nudity, gore, and cheap effects, skip this movie - I would have asked for my money back if I hadn't of gotten in for free to the previewing.

House of Wax (2005)
3/10
Worth seeing free on HBO...
25 June 2005
This movie was hardly anything spectacular. The only thing that saved it was its great casting (with the exception of Paris) and over hyping through the MTV's "The Making of House of Wax" specials. Paris was in it for a total of maybe... 10 minutes? And she played a knocked up blonde bimbo with a black boyfriend. Go figure. The story line was pathetically predictable too. Overall House of Wax was just a pointless gore-fest, much like the recent Chainsaw Massacre re-make. Save your cash, and don't waste your time seeing it in the theater or even renting it. Catch it on HBO in a few months or better yet, get it for free from your local library... It was just a pointless movie without any solid plot behind it. But hey, if you like pointless movies that kill off the characters you actually grow to like throughout it, check it out.

Peter Pan (2003)
Beautiful thought, artistic rendtion
27 January 2004
I always loved the legend of Peter Pan as a child, but I never realized how silly the 60's musical was until I saw the new rendition of Peter Pan. I loved it so much I saw it more than once at the theater!

The movie sticks closely to the classic plot, adding in a new twist of "the power of a kiss," tying it in with many other fairytales - how all great tales end with a kiss that changes the story. Admitedly, it was odd seeing the love story behind Peter and Wendy, but this extremely well put together version amazed me. It was evident that a lot of thought went into production of this film, and newcomer Jeremy Sumpter as Peter is a new favorite actor of mine!
