Surprisingly VERY Good
31 October 2013
i had very low expectations for this and put off watching it for ages as it is not THE true Jeff biopic etc, BUT i have to say it is really well done. they really captured the legendary St Ann's church concert brilliantly, the lead actor was great too, very surprising to me. they weaved back n forth between that time and Tim flashbacks to the 70s, comparing and contrasting pretty much, but it worked really well. and even though they didn't have the permissions to play any Jeff songs, they still were able to sneak in Jeff and Gary Lucas planting the seeds for the song Grace together, that was really cool:) Anyway, this movie is more than good enough to tide us big fans over until the proper Jeff bio movie finally comes out...some day.

Oswalt=why?
27 December 2011
So apparently P Oswalt has taken a few acting classes lately and so Hollywood feels the need to force him into some movies here n there, this frightens me to no end. Of ALL the comedy roaster guys WHY Patton Oswalt?? Cause he's the most frighteningly weird looking and impish? I don't get it, i don't care how good he is, I will never watch a movie with him in the trailer. In a movie as a bit part, fine, any more-NO. I see 'Big Fan' on cable and can't change the channel fast enough, maybe if he were some brand new untainted entity i'd never seen before but how can one not see him as the dirty comedian he's come to be known? I guess I could be open to the idea if he changed his appearance, sort of like Fred Durst attempted to do in some other horrid thing I stumbled upon in cableland, but at least he was smart enough not to be 'hey its fred durst in a movie!' to ruin it haha, and he had a crazy beard. Cause as long as Patton looks 'like Patton' i am OUT, way way too weird. I mean seriously, you might as well put Howard Stern in movies too, just playing a regular guy...yet looking exactly like Howard Stern haha...NO people NO, stop the madness. "but he was GOOD!" i Don't CARE, i'm sure Octomom and Ozzy Osborne are great actors too, i don't need to see them in my movies:)

IF you want to toss a comedian in your movies, there's a HUGE list of much more worthy candidates, Michael Ian Black anyone, Louis C.K.? Even Andy Richter would be 100x less off- putting than lil Patton.
