Barf !!

Where's the plot? What is the series about? Who is the villian? Who is the good person? Why does everyone keep changing their characters?

The sets and consumes are beautiful. Background score is also good. Mujras and dancing sequences are average.

But watching Sharmin Segal was a pain. Her face hides every single inch of emotion. When she is crying, when she is angry, when she is happy, when she is disappointed, there is just one idiotic grin on her filler-filled lips and it was annoying af. She had too much screen time and was abysmal in every way.

This series seems just like an expensive venture by SLB to relaunch this bad actress.

Ew! Wtf is this?

Let us not talk about mysogyny in the movie because that has been said a number of time, which btw is very true. But besides that, the dialogues, the plot, the acting, everything seems to be missing in the movie.

Rashmika should NEVER try to speak in hindi. She mumbles a lot and sometimes it looks like her jaw is frozen. I don't know why she was casted in this movie. Her acting is REALLY REALLY bad and her character has ABSOLUTELY no self respect in the movie. Women in the movie are just props, like any other Vanga movie. Ranbir's acting is good. There is violence in the movie but I do not mind that unless there is justification for it or if it is done sensibly. Here, it is done just for the sake of it.

Such a waste opportunity!
2 December 2023
Are they saying men would never be able to give pleasure to women, so women should learn to pleasure themselves? Or are they saying women who don't climax are 'defective pieces' - since they used this narrative repeatedly in the movie? Why not use this opportunity for actually providing sex education to our dear men?

Kusha's and Dolly's role is not mention-worthy. Bhumi has done a good job. And Shehnaz was good as well. I really like the music with some groove-worthy songs. I don't understand why Anil Kapoor was hired for such a subpar role.

And ofcourse, one extra star since my all time favorite song is a part of the soundtrack. Dil dhoondta hai fir wohi, fursat ke raat din..

Good till episode 6. Excruciating after that.
4 September 2023
The series started off very well and I was really hooked. Typical Cinderella story. I was eagerly waiting for part 2 (episode 7 onwards) to be released, but when they did, it went downhill from there. The meek voice of Miyo starts to annoy you when she apologises 100 times per episode for every little thing, when people keep asking her how is she feeling and she keeps saying she is fine, when she keeps doubting her existence every single minute. The so called villain family and the good guy Koji completely disappeared from part 2. I am definitely not looking forward to the release of part 3/episode 10.

Unlikeable characters.
21 June 2023
It is hard for feel for anyone in this series. Everyone is downright useless. I liked only one character, Fish, who I though would prove useful in the end, but alas!

KJ, our lead character, is very stupid and unlikeable. She is a public prosecutor but is super meek and also a wimp. At the first sign of inconvenience, she drowns herself in alcohol. By the end of half of the series, I was strongly rooting against her.

Nobody wants to see a timid lawyer. I love watching court room dramas because I like watching lawyers fighting fiercely for justice.

The mom of the kid is also quite annoying. She decides to stalk and haggle the killer but refuses to name him when her lawyer asks. Why? So that the series can be stretched some more! I found myself skipping most of the parts related to the uncle, the father and all that drug drama as it added nothing to the plot.

This series is super slow and all the 10 episodes are a waste because in the end you get nothing. No sense of justice being served.

Why this title?
20 April 2023
I cannot believe that actors like Kunal Khemu, Shweta Tripathi, Alka Amin, Rajiv Gupta are in this obnoxious movie.

The title has nothing to do with the movie except the first 10 minutes. Then the plot completely drifts off and the acting gets very loud and annoying. Jokes are not funny and Raju Srivastava's role is very bad. Shweta Tripathi is just a prop. There are unnecessary songs in the movie which do not fit well with the scenes.

The premise of the movie is government frauds and nothing to do with the title and how the movie started. You can watch it one time, but be prepared to fast forward when the bits get boring and stretched.

Interesting, but too many unanswered questions.
24 February 2023
Why would you want to bring a child into an apocalyptic world where absolutely no sound has to be made?

There are too many sounds of nature out there, why don't the creatures get attracted to them?

Where did the aliens come from?

Are all people dead? Are all animals and birds dead?

After killing the person who has made the sound, where do the aliens go back to? To their mommy?

How can one keep sinking in corns? It's corn, not quicksand ffs.

In a world, where you can be dead within a few seconds if you make even a little sound, you let your toddler run around alone in a supermarket? Smart move, I'd say.

If the creatures/aliens are attracted to sound, why do they run away when Regan's implant screeches?

Sasha is the only one with a brain.
23 February 2023
Half of the series is about Billie zoning out, thinking and fantasizing about her poker-faced toxic ex: while cooking, while in train, while talking to people, while at an art gallery, while at her kid's playschool, while feeding her baby..even when she is freaking sitting and chatting with that ex. The ex is apparently a sex god. Billie keeps missing her wh*re life. She loves her family and kids, but she also wants to have fun with her hot ex. She gets jealous when she sees her husband's hot boss. She communicates her sexual needs with her husband through MS Word (her journal). She leaves her children with the sitter at night and venture out in the city, clubbing with her hot ex. She just remembers about them when she checks her messages. If my ex ever says those things, things which makes Billie bawl, I'd roll my eyes so hard, I'd probably go back in time.

What a waste! 3 Star for the dog.
11 January 2023
The movie is painful to watch, and not because it's sad. BigB and Ashish Vidyarthi have acted well. Even Pavail has done a decent job. I just didn't understand the casting of Rashmika here. She clearly has a very off Hindi accent and doesn't fit in with the rest of the cast. Her character is also quite annoying, who questions each and every final rite. The movie is just about the funeral, and seems quite stretched. The background music is very misplaced. Inserting comedy in funeral scenes was uncalled for and doesn't add anything to the movie. The dog is cute but doesn't serve any purpose here.

Comedy. That's what this is.
5 January 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The movie can be watched in good fun but it's not more than that. The problem of domestic violence is a very serious one and the solution is definitely not having a boxing match. There are some misogynist dialogues, probably to rile women up and both the families are being shown as unsupportive of the girl which is kind of heartbreaking. The husband here is an a-grade pr***, who slaps his wife just to show his authority. The transformation of wife into a goons-fighting, karate champion is very unbelievable. Finally, I didn't like that the girl's family, too, didn't get to learn a lesson. Darshana has done a good job, rest all are passable.

Very Winx saga vibes. Decent visuals. Silly dialogues. Poor Script.
4 November 2022
First 1 hour is very bad and you can absolutely skip it. Except for SRK cameo, there was nothing worth watching in there. Useless songs, cringe dialogues and non-existent chemistry between the lead couple. Their love at first sight, staring into each others' eyes was very unbelievable and seemed too exaggerated.

Sets are grand and beautiful and cinematography is also good. Amitabh and Dimple are wasted. Mouni Roy has done a decent job as Junoon.

IDK what has happened to Ranbir, his acting has gone downhill over the years. I can imagine actors like Hrithik or Shahid doing more justice to the role. Alia looks beautiful but doesn't have much dialogues except "Shivaaaaa". She plays the role of a clueless girl who keeps asking stupid questions and her dialogue delivery is also quite poor. The character lacks depth and the purpose of her existence seems to be just to serve Ranbir Kapoor. There are some funny dialogues (I love Isha, wo button hai mera aur jab wo button on hota hai toh..).

The movie focuses just on Ranbir Kapoor, other characters are not even given a backstory. The movie didn't need songs and didn't need romance, for sure. Now, I'll go watch Winx saga once more to actually see some good VFX.

These keep getting worse.
12 October 2022
I have watched the previous movies and I can say that they are just getting bad and bad. Hardin is still a dipsh1t guy who has some serious anger issues but Tessa doesn't leave him (Because she loves him soooo much duh).. And when she decides to leave him, the guy isn't leaving her alone (because he doesn't believe her duhhh).

Hardin keeps cribbing and screaming in the first half. Second half gets a little better but it's still very messily done. Even after four movies, you don't feel for these guys. They are just some random teenagers who keep crying and fighting and then keep making up.

Girls, this is what toxic guys look like. I hope you learn from the movie, have some self respect in case you find a red-flagged person and leave him for good. It's NOT your responsibility to fix him.

No horror. Just boredom.
12 October 2022
A bunch of dying kids in a hospice, meeting at midnight and telling each other stories. Illonka is super annoying and reminded me of Ani from 13 reasons why, because she was also annoying as hell. Also, what's up with that old 'hungry' ghost couple? They didn't even try to explain it.

I have watched Midnight Mass, Bly Manor and Hill House and I liked the latter two only. May be Flanagan has run out of ideas. Surprisingly, he didn't cast his wife in this one.

Scary scenes are very typical. There's a dialogue in the series : "Don't be lazy. Anyone can bang pots and pans behind someone's head. That's not scary, it's just startling. And it's lazy AF.".. Well, that's what we get in here. Just few stupid jump scares. Don't be lazy, Flanagan.

Remake of Doctor Foster.
25 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Season 1 (6.5/10): It started off well and was engaging to some point. Wife finds out her husband has been cheating on her since 2 years and each and every person in her life, except her, already knew but didn't tell her. (How great is that? If I have friends like that, who needs enemies?) Her friends and her husband continue to gaslight her. In the first episode, she follows her husband around, hires a person to spy on him, secretly checks his phone and office etc to confirm her doubts about his cheating. But once she confirms it, what does she do? Absolutely nothing. She goes on living her life, never even confronting the husband or the two faced friends. Before blaming the other woman and giving her the stink eye, try confronting your man. Huh.

Season 2 (4/10): I feel embarrassed for Meera. Going uninvited to the ex-husband's wedding, sneaking into his new home, his bedroom. Trying to seduce him and then sleeping with him. Trying to break his new marriage. Talk about having some dignity. Move on, woman.

So bad. ;(
20 September 2022
OMG I cannot believe people have watched this in theaters. It is so bad, I am glad I had the privilege of fast forwarding it. Let's be honest, Ek Villain was good because it was a copy (I saw the devil). Bollywood movies are usually good only when they are copies of South Indian or other language movies. Anyway, there are unnecessary songs in the movie. John Abraham looks old enough to be Disha's father and doesn't do justice to the psycho killer role. Disha's acting is very cringeworthy, and she is given short clothes to wear, as usual. Let's not talk about Tara Sutaria since we anyway do not expect any miracles from her. Arjun Kapoor is okay. I don't have any more words to describe this mess. On a side note, can you imagine your lover hugged you so tightly that he killed you by crushing your bones? Yeah, me neither.

Confusing and Overstretched.
19 September 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The series started off well but loses it's grip after 2-3 episodes. 9 episodes is a bit too much for this. There are too many useless characters who don't serve any purpose, too many subplots which are left hanging midway. The diamond and the bribe story doesn't make any sense and does not add anything to the story. The husband committed suicide, and we don't exactly know why? I like Tisca Chopra but in this series, she was quite annoying. The writers seemed conflicted about whether to make the story scientific or superstitious. The mine had a pathogen which glowed like Avatar's Pandora and for some inexplicable reason was subdued by burning a mysterious grass? The pathogen was said to affect people's mind and cause infection and there was an attempt to explain the creation of 'zombie' like weird creatures, but it wasn't explained how it gave them superhuman abilities? Why did Pramukh want to kill everyone using that grass? Who was the foretelling person in the prison? Who was that person after diamonds? What is the point of adding Bhairon's daughter, Rani's uncle in the plot when you are not gonna develop it?

Cannot believe Saurabh Shukla is in this series. I really like him as an actor, but here he has been wasted.

Very Meh!
4 September 2022
First of all, why did they decide to cast Sargun Mehta and Rakulpreet in one movie? As if these two caused any less confusion anyway. At first, I thought the actress is playing a double role.

The story is okay. I haven't watched the original so cannot really compare the two. It's a typical Akshay Kumar movie, where he plays all the parts and basically no other character is required. He, being a freshly recruited SI, single handedly nabs the criminal, while the female SHO just watches and takes instructions from him.

The makeup artist has done a laughable job. Progeria makeup is very weird and not realistic and you can see the peeling latex.

I understand that this was released in 2001 and can be considered good animation movie of its time, but "the best animated films ever made".. "best film of the 21st century"..?? The animation is nice and the movie was fun to watch but that's it. I don't get the hype. The story is also not that good. I enjoyed Arrietty and Ponyo (from the same studio) more.

Good. Was expecting more.

Sai Pallavi shines through. Rest of the actors have also done a pretty good job. I was expecting it to be a heart touching story, but it was not. Much of the storyline and screentime is about the ongoing case and investigation and I didn't get to see much of the father-daughter bond and may be that's why the twist at the end didn't shock me as much it should have. Really liked the work done by Kaali Venkat.

Painful.
13 August 2022
People, if you are in an abusive relationship, please leave them like a normal human being instead of planning their murder.

About the film: I couldn't manage to finish watching it even in 5-6 sittings. First half was still tolerable: it has a serious note with decent acting from all the actors. Alia looks good as the meek housewife, but not quite believable as the transformed one. It's still not sure how she intended to gain respect from her husband by restraining and drugging him. Shefali Shah acts well in the first half, annoying in the second half. Roshan Matthew and Vijay Verma are still watchable. I am not sure if it's dark comedy, because there's no comedy, just a bunch of people trying too hard to stick humour in the scenes. I wonder where all the comedy is which people were talking about.

Btw, a family from lower middle class doesn't use brands like Kama Ayurveda, Daawat etc.

Deleting genuine reviews and allowing fake ones. Way to go!
31 July 2022
My review has been removed two times now while all 8/9/10 stars from freshly created accounts are being allowed. Guess the PR team is spending a lot.

I will repeat my review: Ranbir is good as a heartbroken chocolate boy only. Vani wasn't needed in the movie. Action scenes are laughable.

What a mess.
23 July 2022
The movie is too modernised for my taste. Pride and Prejudice (2005) is one of my favorite movies and here too I was expecting some great chemistry, some fancy Regency English and some hot on-screen romance. But all I got was that annoying incessant breaking of fourth wall. Bah!

Crass.
22 June 2022
The movie is full of stupid and garbage jokes which aren't funny. Everyone has overacted. I fail to understand why Tabu is in this movie. Bhool Bhulaiya 1 was good because it was a remake of Manichitrathazhu. It seems like they didn't try to use their brains while making this movie either. A small child is being harassed and being called names for his weight - the relationship here is not at all similar to the relation between Aditya and Chandu/Goti. Pulling jibes on Rajpal Yadav are also not funny anymore. Calling someone 'gadha', 'kutta' or 'suar' isn't comedy.

Music is very avoidable. Kiara Advani plays a dumb person, who in order to avoid her family and making them believe that she's dead, travels to her family home to hide there. *slow claps*

P. S. Kartik Aryan, please stick to Pyar Ka Punchnama franchise because you cannot act.

Deepika and Naseeruddin shine through. Surprisingly, Ananya has also done a good job. Couldn't see the chemistry between Deepika and Siddhant. They could have done a better job at clarifying things in the end. Obviously, it isn't the first time "falling for your sister's/best friend's fiance" is being done, but overall, a nice attempt. Deepika looks pretty in yoga outfits and her emotional scenes are very convincing.
