The Santa Clauses (2022)
Limiting my complaints
Like many others, I wanted this to be good, but nothing has come close to the first film other than the love story and real world parts of the 2nd. The series is good clean fun but more hammy than the weird change in Bernard's character in the 2nd film.
For the first time in the story's history they brought religion into an otherwise magical non-denominational holiday film. I always loved that The Santa Clause was ONLY the storybook version of Xmas - Santa and the love of family and togetherness. They never mentioned Jesus. Until now. Highly disappointing and a completely unnecessary exchange of lines between the elves.
The Fast Life (2003)
Gritty Urban drama shot Law and Order style
Douglas Elford-Argent directs Law and Order style, using hand held cameras with on location backdrops, the characters are real and believable drawing you closer to the action. Shot in only 2 weeks this is a true directional debut must. Shot by William M Miller, a DP from Spike Lee's 'Home Invaders', and starring Jamie Hector from 'He Got Game'
The pace continues with 'La Falls' another Elford-Argent feature, at only 27 years it will be interesting to see what Elford-Argent achieves with a higher budget from Hollywood. I can only hope he continues this style of 'real' film making, which is so popular with such shows as 'The Shield' and 'Law and Order'
