The Zone of Interest (2023)

If I weren't seeing film with friend I would have left after 10 minutes when I realized it would not be for me. I am hewing have seen most of films on this topic. There was nothing new and it is very long and repetitive. Yes these evil men show no remorse. They are evil. Ok agreed. The photography stark and expressive. The ability to not feel what is happening is striking. It's been done before. I saw this because I see all Oscar nominations. I can't imagine any wins for this but maybe guilt will push this forward. Far better movies nominated for Oscar. Don't waste your time with this one. Stream it so you can leave.
Fedeltà (2022)
Just beautiful
I am so sad for it to be over. I liked both characters and their struggles. Although this story not new, this was well executed. I believe most married couples can relate to the tale of a relationship being stale. Both characters were physical appealing, intellectually strong, creatively ambitious. I am hoping for a second season. Will love second time around be in their future? Hope so.
One review said it is a movie for women. Maybe be a about love not war. No guns, stabbings, murders. Easy to watch. Satisfying.
I can see why there are few reviews. Hard to meet minimum requirements for word length.
Patria (2020)
Informative
I watched series in two days. I didn't know the history of the conflict and appreciated learning from this film. Very well acted. The damage of politics and human suffering portrayed sensitively.
Naui Haebangilji (2022)
Favorite series of the year
I already want to watch again. Beautiful dialogue. Deep characterizations. Profoundly satisfying. Each character is flawed and trying hard to find love and inner peace. No simple fixes. No immediate solutions. Watch the humanity through these characters. Highly recommend.
The Things We Carry (2009)
My sister and I could have written this film
It is a familiar story. Abusive addict mother with 2 daughters who react at opposite ends of the spectrum. One daughter stays with mother. Other daughter runs. Sisters initially unable to see the others perspective. It's a sad story and sadly true to so many families without a loving mother. I identified to the end but was really hoping for something new.
