Best Christmas film I've seen in years with real feelings
26 November 2021
The title says it all. And I don't lie. I'm old and lost all belief in magic years ago of the sweet feelings Christmas brings but found this captured so much of it.

Season 4 plot issues
3 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Hakan goes back in time and changes the mind of a villainous female immortal. Then it jumps back to the future and she gives order to not shoot good guys who she had ordered to make ready to kill. The plot problem ignores the fact she was the cause of the virus in the beginning.

Spoilers... good series with many plot holes
2 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First, the camera angles and action is top notch. The dubbing is excellent; although they go overboard on profanity. Being a lazy American, I'm not a fan of dubbed but this one is good. I also used subtext in English. There is much lost in translation...even between dubbed and text.

The male actor is excellent, especially his grieving scenes. Actually everyone does great job.

First big plot problem...7 immortals want to rid all humans on earth. Yet they're spoiled wealthy individuals using computers, cars, electricity...something thst would cease with out humans.

Second plot problem first season: The only immortal left kills entire family of the "Proctector" even though he later uses the blood of an escaped (not in his knowledge) protector to revive 6 dead immortals.

Think what you want
14 January 2021
I enjoyed this series. The actors and their characters are likable, the plots excellent. I especially liked the background music. It never smothered the dialog, it was always warm and so pleasant to the ears. A cross between George Benson and a 1950s very light jazz club.

Right wing propaganda
16 March 2019
Not the worse show on Hallmark but the writers kept inserting rightwing rhetoric with phrases like "stand her ground" when a woman holds gun on them, and; "rich man making the world better for me." (The old trickle down economics.) Nepotism prevails. "On the rope" hanging phrase and several others.

As for Sweeny it's good to see a very full figured woman as opposed to those skinny fake snobs. One who never lost that child bearing figure. Although her face seems to show no emotions, you can tell she is struggling with middle age.

Also it's a very white world they live in. The ending is very predictable.

First episode depressing
4 March 2019
Expect to get depressed. A real tear jerker. Mother dies. Kids go of the rails. Girl who plays oldest daughter looks and acts like a 40 year old meth hooker. If you want reality of pain and anxiety this is for you. The pain drags out. Depressing. Some will like it.

Too sugary sweet
27 January 2019
Saint Ruby loves her sister more...argh! So perfect. All the obnoxious praise is too much.

The dialogue is atrocious. The acting is fleeting. I don't know if I will watch another one.

"Dig deeper," for a more enjoyable plot and especially dialogue.

The Kate character
13 April 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The Kate character ruined the show. Of course killing off Marion was dumb but adding Kate was sure death. Also the actor playing Kate makes the part irritating.

Very disappointed with the direction.
9 March 2017
Fun show but this episode aired long after the election has the old white parents racist by making rude racial remarks. Blaming things that were going wrong on Obama as a running joke. Six Obama references. If this continues with Keach and Quartz on it as an old racist parents we will quit watching it.

Anytime you see someone put a 1 or 10 rating you know
14 March 2014
One or ten ratings usually indicate the person has a personal complaint with the show. Either an actor, director or even the network offends them and they are making their great mark in the world because they have an opinion, never taking into consideration the work that goes into something nor thinking how others may see the program.

That being said I gave it an 8 (eight). It probably deserves a 6 on my normal scale or a 6.5 but I liked it and so did my wife. It put me in mind of the beginnings of the old Scrubs series. Very fast pace, comic timing and witty.

Usually there are one or two characters you don't like but so far they have been excellently cast. Whether it lasts long I don't know. Looks like the series was tried in 2011 for six episodes and I have never seen those.

This is a modern look at everyday life comical moments and the way they are dealt with or made fun of and we enjoyed it.

The main problem with the show is it's over before you know it.

Lame
17 September 2013
Lame movie that tries to be humorous but falls short.

Poor acting. Bad script. I realize movies are subjective but how anyone could give a high mark is unbelievable.

Poor editing, jumps around. Accents so thick sounds like marbles in their mouth.

No humor. Glad when it was over. Over-hyped movie. Fighting scenes were really bad. Bores you the first half and then annoys the second half.

Can't imagine who would like it. Immature brain damaged people only. Proves the brits have no sense of humor.

Really simple special effects. All scenery look like cheap cardboard.

The Wicked (2013 Video)

All the elements a good solid 5 star
24 March 2013
Good characters, acting not bad, story line very predictable, is it a halloween, or a freddie movie? Doubt it but it could spawn others. Sweet to the taste buds and nauseating to the flesh.

The principle theme is an old house where kids of all ages disappear. If you throw a rock at the 'wicked's' house and hit it you're safe if you break a window the witch will get you. Moves slowly gently pulling you in then wam. It's like torturing rats in a maze.

The cops belong in 'Super Trooper." Good for a hostile comic relief. Suspenseful, in that who will make it and who won't. And a touch of gore.
