Wayward Pines (2015–2016)

Kept me interested. (*very minor spoiler alert*)

Warning: Spoilers
It borrows from a lot. The Prisoner springs to mind, obviously Twin Peaks but that's just superficial...black suited agent in tranquil small town. The feeling I get mostly is a Twilight Zone one. The part where he steals the car and tries to drive out of town...unsuccessfully...is taken from a TZ episode I'm sure.

Dillon seems well cast for this and it's good to see more of Juliette Lewis in things these days too. Carla Gugino, Toby Jones, Terence Howard and Melissa Leo are all solid as well and hopefully will keep this intriguing. What I'm not hoping is that it turns out to be another Lost where each week there are more and more questions at the end of each episode and no answers

Well thank god...

...in almost 56 years of life I've never worked or been "friends" with this many lying, deceptive, backstabbing, self-absorbed pricks such as these lot! With chums/colleagues like this who needs enemies...or a law degree? Compelling viewing though and top of the pile for network telly, I'll continue to watch. Entertaining, for sure and good acting (I'm sure glad it's acting!) Viola Davis is awesome, as expected, and the rest of the lesser known cast are no let down. From the get-go the viewer is hard pressed to decipher the motives of all the various characters at play and the reverse time sequences do well in keeping up the suspense, ever-drawing nearer to an undoubtedly nasty conclusion. This would be good as a mini-series, hope it doesn't drag on to infinity and spoil the ideal.
