Dark Water (2005)
Tasteless, Bland And Terribly Soggy!
Dark Water is the remake of the 2002 Japanese cult film "Dark Water" directed by Hideo Nakata. The movie is about a mother Dahlia (Jennifer Connelly) and daughter Ceci (Ariel Gade) who move into an apartment complex in New Jersey after a divorce separation. When a water leak occurs mysterious occurrences begin to happen around the building with a ghost like figure that terrorizes Ceci. Although being a low budget film this film delivers great performances by Jennifer Connely and Tim Roth but the overall is that the film is ultimately boring with several small frights. Dark Water delivers a tasteless, bland and soggy film with a horribly boring storyline. 1.5/5* Stars
Doom (2005)
Boom
Doom is set in a research facility on Mars where an outbreak occurs. When a group of army corps are sent to retrieve vital information about the research on the Human Genome Project all hell breaks loose. The plot is very weak and is closely related to Resident Evil (eg. viral outbreak in a research facility). The acting is horrible with really poor dialogue and action scenes (eg. game related scenes). The sfx are nothing special (eg. the monsters) This story in my opinion is a major knock-off of Aliens but has not got the qualities of Resident Evil or Mortal Kombat. With a disapoinintg ending and major plot holes 1/5* stars from me!
Mommy's Day (1997)
Poor Sequel
The Original Mommy was amazing but when I saw this I was disgusted by the poor effort put into this movie. The story is lame and pointless. There is 0% Gore and the editing is poor. The title is lame, the acting is horrible and the plot seems to go nowhere. The first Mommy was great but this is just rubbish. The story is confusing and set a distance away from the first movie. What a load of crap. . What does the title have to do with the story? Mommy's Day? Why not Mommy's Revenge or Mommy Restored?** Story 1.0/10 Horrible Story ** Acting 4/10 Bad Acting** Gore 0.1/10 Virtually No Gore** Overall 1.7/10. Major Plot Holes: Why did Mommy get released in the end if she is mentally ill??
Mommy (1995)
Great Low Budget Thriller
I first saw the cover of mommy on a horror ten pack DVD only for 10 dollars. I thought it was some cheap rip off of Friday The 13th. When I turned it on it seemed hilarious at the start when she killed her daughters teacher by snapping her neck. Through out the movie mommy kills and eliminates anyone who gets in her daughters way. The acting is superb and is filmed nicely. The daughter notice's what her mother is doing isn't normal and tries to escape mommy's evil lair of murders. A good movie with an unexpected twist. My review is ** 6.3/10 Acting ** 7.8/10 Story ** 5.9/10 Gore ** Overall 6.2/10. The Acting is hilarious with a good result in the end. The story line is original and excellent. There isn't much gore although the death scenes are excellent for a low budget film.
Arthur: King of the Britons (2002)
Great I Think Not
The Documentary talks about King Arthurs Life And Events That Happened. Through out the movie Richard Harris explains that Geofrey Of Monmouth wrote that King Arthur wore a blunt metal vest as a body Armour. The Fight Scenes horribly presented and acting is horrible there 's lots of confusion in storyline events mixed around. After seeing King Arthur (2004) in the cinema, I realised that Richard Harris doesn't understand what he talking about. The Acting is beyond horrendous and disgusting. My review is 6/10 Story,
4/10 Acting,
1.5/10 For Fight Scenes.
Overall score 4.3/10
