So much more than the title
24 January 2024
Far too short as it hardly touches on the actual repairs, instrument ones that is. That could have been technically interesting, but this is a story of how music and the provision of the instruments, often to those too poor to afford them can change or be a new start in their young lives. This is brought into focus by the same effects that music had on the repair staff themselves, as they each recount the difficulties and for some the deep emtional trauma that they still carry. For one of whom, reminded me of the stories told and witnessed by Jewish families, with the same lasting bewilderment of how, why then their lives changed in an instant., what it was is no longer.

As good if not better than Reacher
5 July 2022
As good as it gets, non stop explosive action, tight story line with several threads and with some gritty realism, reminded me of Reacher series. If you want to binge out with a few beers then this is a show that will keep you engrossed, entertained and wanting more.

So so bad
16 June 2022
So poorly edited that it is as if 50% of the show had been cut and viewer has to fill in the big gaps, its more like a family soap opera, ridiculously loud music. How this has got to a third season is beyond me, just look at the viewing figures, they have been plumeting since day one.

The only thing gone is some of your life
7 April 2022
I lasted about 10min, post apocalypse after many years and he's wandering about with no weapons, but somebody next to the corn field has been cutting the grass !. He's then at the beach and goes into a house but fails to notice hey this placeis spotless, no dust but edible food and if im not mistaken the washer has electic power, where from, does he notice nope he does'nt. Time to switch off its mostly the same with these folk who produce, write and star in their own movies, too much money and no ability.

A real Gem
25 August 2021
I read about this and thought it was worth a look. So glad I did, its quite addictive why I cant actually say perhaps I find the stories quite intriging. Of couse there are a few "nobody would do that " but overall I really hope it doesnt get dropped. In a way its like Arrival but different.

Keeps you guessing
14 May 2021
Although quite long I found myself watching it, apart from a few instances of "nobody would have done that". It is worth watching as there are some revelations toward the end which surprised me and yet made sense in the overall story. Midnight Skyish.

Watchable
12 May 2021
As stated in other review this is a reissue / rename of a 2016 movie however I had not seen it before. I quite enjoyed it for what it was, a movie with minimal cast with no expensive backdrops etc. It's almost a snapshot of a part of the whole story and yet it held my interest. If you like end of the world SF then I think you will like this, it's not going to get any awards or make big bucks but kept my interest.

Below mediocre
13 March 2021
What can i say the prime minister looks like an ISIS escapee and the head of the SAS is more like Del Boy dressed up.. The story barely hangs together and at times 4/5 mercenaries/soldiers become a dozen. i switched off before half way as i had no longer any interest if any of them survived.

SF Hokum that's as good as it gets, don't miss it
16 February 2021
This is an action packed SF/Fantasy adventurer that's no stop and has just about everything from many similar type movies made over last 10 years all rolled into one. If you want to sit down, be entertained it's nearly 2 hours and it's worth it. Don't think about it just enjoy.

It's not great, but
9 November 2020
But I keep watching it, by far the best actor is Annet Mahendru who plays her character Huck so well right down to her facial expressions. I've seen her before in a few other shows and definetly one to watch, I would even say a new Jodie Foster. Otherwise the show does have usual zombie show issues but in fairness it would be difficult to create something new that nobody has already done. It's no worse and probably better than many US teen shows which routinely have the standard two guys vying for the one girl recipe.

Some good music, disatrous pointless story
5 November 2020
OK first off this has nothing to do with the main character (supposedly) being very strong, absolutely nothing. The story that can only be loosely termed a story is the usual about drugs, hoods and poverty. There are whole parts of the movie that don't do anything but play some sort of pointless scenes that add nothing. I can only think that the director was consuming large amounts of illicit chemicals and that in his haze the whole movie made sense to him and was a masterpiece , that any audience would also have to be out of their box to enjoy it or to make any sense of it is apparent.

Enjoyable action sf movie
4 August 2020
I enoyed this movie, good action and although similar to other movies it still kept my interest. Although 2 hrs long the content of the tale needs that time and could easily have been longer. If you like sf & fantasy movies you should enjoy this as long as you take it on its own merits.

Boring
21 July 2020
This is a long boring self indulgent waste of time, a movie that has no real start, no real story and by the end your so grateful that its finished. This has to be one of those movies the actors had to contreactually do cos nobody after reading the script would be that career suicidal to want to be part off. It is absolutely total drivel.

Keeps you guessing
8 December 2019
As the title says the movie keeps you guessing as to what is going on, is it a crazy guy and his daughter, is there anything outside. At this point it could easily be something along the lines of 10 Cloverfield lane or A quiet place however clues begin to appear that it is neither but along the lines of a more famous series of movies. I have to say it kept me watching all the way and I would definitely recommend it.

Another good Eastwood movie
5 June 2019
Like his other directed movies well made and in a sense a simple story, however this tale delves as much into the character's motivations, family and personal characteristics. You never really feel for him as a hero or a villan but as someone who falls into crime as much due to the circumstances, opportunity and the characters own suitability traits. Throughout there are glimpses of a person that touch on selfishness, irresponsibility, womanising, likely infidelity, all traits of an narcissistic impulsive personality suited to crime who has had little concern, past and present for the consequences of his actions on others whether family or the public. That said on the other side of the coin is the same creative individual who at the end of his life has realised his failures to those closest to him and has little left to lose being a mule.

Not as good as first one
14 April 2019
With Bruce W getting on a bit like most of his recent movies there's not as much physical action, McAvoy shows his versatility and as a foil to Willis'es character. The movie takes us down an unusual premise that's puts a different slant on the movie however toward end of movie the appearance of 8 keystone cop types and this review was heading for a 3/4, it was as if the movie budget had suddenly run out. It is only the final part of the movie that brings it back up that not only improves the story but leaves it a future. If you have seen first one then you may want to watch it otherwise don't bother.

This is neither a war or SF movie
4 April 2019
Although there are war and SF elements in this movie they are only theatrical backdrops to what is in reality a story about life, whats important, the choices we make, the sacrifices and the regrets. That, although the world continues on a personal level life is short and very individual. If it has any message it is to grasp life's opportunities when they arise because you may not get a second chance. This is a much better movie than the average rating and would make an excellent piece for a classroom discussion for those who are about to start out in adulthood and the decisions that will shape theirs and potentially others lifes. Overall I found it a cleverly put together story.

Terrible, so bad it might become a classic
20 March 2019
This has no redeeming features at all, from first couple minutes you know how bad this is going to be. Two boys in forest one tries to shoot rabbit from 4 yards and misses target hitting metal post 2/3 foot higher up. Gun didn't appear to be shaped like a banana ! Next they go down a secret trapdoor with a torch, hold on there are two paraffin lamps alight but nobody mentions them or appears to see them. It goes on like this getting worse and worse. Whom ever directed this has too much money and not enough ability

So So
16 March 2019
For a two hour movie it was a struggle after 1 hour, it was just all very predictable and Affleck's character who was supposedly the top guy in the squad was the one with the worst human failings of them all. I'm not coming down on Affleck as an actor but that the role he played was poor he would be last guy to follow. You know what's going to happen all the way through once they all get together. I gave this a generous 6

A quick 2 hours
12 March 2019
Good movie that kept my interest for whole 2 hours, good effects and design. Think of mad max thunder dome mixed with water world minus the water with a dash of terminator and a pinch of star wars thrown in. Highly recommended much more than I had expected.

Good old caveman movie
27 December 2018
I actually enjoyed this, it kept me guessing for quite a bit and as no major stars your not sure who's going to make it. Special effects and scenery were good and enjoyable to the end. I would say one of the best movies I've seen this year that's not superstar budget. Reminded me a bit of Apocalypto, that sort of movie

Good SF movie
27 December 2018
Watched this and kept my interest although I've gave this a 7 there were a few issues when the characters did really stupid things. That kinda annoys me because it takes away from the reality of the story that I'm getting into. That said the suspense and premise were good although again at the end you think but surely someone else would have thought that ages ago. Still it's recommended if you like SF and jump out of your chair moments

Female version of Death Wish
27 December 2018
Revenge movie with a hint of Sarah Connor in Terminator 2. Still ok movie that gets into the action right away and not too predictable. Kept my interest so that's my usual gauge if it gets 5 or more. If your looking for some action it will do the job.

What you will expect
27 December 2018
It's a Tom Cruise and mission impossible, enjoyabe big budget action movie. It maybe similar to all the rest but I enjoyed it, pure escapism with gadgets flung in. What can you say he never makes bad movies.
