This reminds me of late 80's/90's sitcoms. Very much like My Sister Sam, My Two Dad's, etc. I really appreciate the dysfunctional family that is trying to mend. The characters are well thought out, act appropriately for a sitcom and are enduring. I hope CBS keeps it.

My daughter saw this come up on Hulu one day and since she is a dancer she of course wanted to watch it. Some things I have to say are a bit unrealistic like the fact that the studio owner seems to have NO control over her studio letting teenage girls basically run the show which doesn't happen. I could tell from the first show that Emily was going to act the part of a spoiled brat who should really be knocked down a few pegs, if she acted that way at our studio she would be gone. The dancing is pretty good but the fact that they never use technical terms for any of the moves takes away some of the credibility. The writers should spend a little time in a real studio to at least learn some of the terms that are used and see some real competitive dancers in action.
Could have been more like the books

Last summer I read all of the Harry Potter books with my kids and after each book we watched the movies and we loved the fact that mostly the movies stayed very close to the books. I wish I could say that about the Percy Jackson film (we haven't seen the second yet so I will reserve opinion there.) I was quite disappointed in the first movie. So much was changed that it barely resembled the book. For one thing they say from the start that Percy is Poseidon's son and for another they have the characters as teenagers when in the books they are only 11 years old!! I can overlook little changes but these were HUGE changes which is why I can only give this movie 5 out of 10 stars.
