Not what I expected, but completely surprised!
22 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I found this film on the Entertainment list on my flight to CA from NJ. I grew up listening to Weird Al, saw him in concert once and even met him briefly in person. When I met him, I found him to be very polite, friendly, and very normal. I knew nothing about his personal life nor anything about this film. I honestly thought I was watching a documentary film on his life until Madonna popped in the picture. I was pretty in-tuned to celebrity flings and marriages and was sure I would of remembered this one lol. The film takes many turns completely unexpectedly. I found myself trying to contain my laughter because I was on an airplane. This film was actually a parody of many cliches from various rockstars lives of the 70's and 80's. In Weird Al true form, he does not disappoint. Radcliffe did an excellent job portraying the socially awkward Yankovic.

A Fun, Offbeat Romantic Comedy
8 February 2006
I got to see a preview of this the other night . . I went in thinking this was just another silly romantic comedy, but I must say I laughed a bit and enjoyed some of the crude humor. The audience I sat with loved it and laughed often, so I think this will do well in the theater especially those that enjoy Mr. McConaughey's abs and southern charm. There's actually some great nature shots with Dolphins and other fun-loving creatures, but I won't go into detail since it would spoil some of the crude humor in this flick. I think this would make a great date film since most of the film is told from the male perspective, so it's not your typical female male basher. Zooey Deschannel has some great moments as well with her deadpan looks and offbeat charm. There's no Oscar worthy performances here, just a fun silly, offbeat romantic comedy with a little um-nudity from Mr. Bradshaw (no frontal of course).

A Great Pre-Summer Film!
13 May 2005
I too got to see a free-sneak peak of this film in NYC and I'll tell you one thing . . there were no sleepers in the cinema! A very mixed crowd from race to ages here and everyone seemed to be having a great time . . even the teenager who sat behind me who reminded me of every actor when he appeared on the screen .. like Nelly. I haven't had this much fun in the theater in quite awhile. No, it's not a super serious film, but if you like football and the good feeling of revenge you'll love this film. Lots of violent blows from the guards and a little racism, but nothing too "out of the ordinary" . . some great one-liners from Chris Rock's character. A definite #1 film for Memorial Day weekend when it opens. I can see this film bringing in some good dough this summer.

Push (1998)
Hey it was fun!
5 January 2005
While they were filming this in various locations in San Diego I knew just from being a part of this show that it was going to flop. The actors needed work, the filming was dizzy to watch on TV and the actors were virtually unknowns that luckily went on the do better shows (some did worse). I was an extra on every show they filmed and although it was fun . . I did everything from playing a runner w/Jason Behr to being on the swim team with Maureen Flannigan. I do have both episodes on VHS (mainly because I was in them) which I watch once in awhile . . and yes the show isn't "that" bad and there's a lot more crap on TV these days that is much worse than "Push" ever was. I must say it was fun being a part of this show . . too bad it didn't take off.
