Just rewatched this for the first time after it aired and it still stands strong. It's difficult to explain exactly what makes this series so good. The characters all have major flaws and the plot is just «life», but there is humor in everything and it might even make you take an extra look at yourself.
* You have the self pitying, entitled main character, Hannah, who blames everybody else for everything that goes wrong in her life * You have the pretty, judgemental Marnie, who thinks her life should be a lot better than it is, considering how beautiful, smart and talented she is. Who also blames everybody else.
* You have the free spirited, bohemian-beautiful Jessa who is used to getting away with everything because she looks good, but is struggeling to continue her lifestyle entering her late 20s when it might not be as charming anymore * And then you have Shoshanna, the youngest, and Jessas cousin, who sees the other three from the outside and is convinced she's going to tackle life better when it's her turn.
What makes the show so great is that it at the same time critizises our generation but also acknowledges that growing up and finding a place in the world is hard.
